Shangguan Bing’er

Shangguan Bing'er is an ultimate-agility Heavenly Jewel Master, archer, and early military commander of the Heavenly Bow Empire. Raised by her mother outside Heaven's Expanse Palace, she becomes Zhou Weiqing's first teacher and later wife, developing from an under-resourced two-Jeweled officer into a Heavenly King whose Wind Spirit Saint Nucleus Core and Wings of the Wind God make exceptional speed her defining strength.

Biography

Awakening and command in the Heavenly Bow army

Bing'er grows up believing herself the fatherless daughter of an ordinary family, raised solely by her mother Tang Xian. Her talent brings an unusually early public career: she awakens her Heavenly Jewels at twelve, earns the title of Lord that year, rises to Baron at thirteen and Viscount at fifteen, and becomes the Heavenly Bow Empire's second known Heavenly Jewel Master after Admiral Zhou. By her first appearance she already commands a battalion despite her age. Her advancement is earned through service rather than inherited rank, and her attachment to the small empire that supported her remains central even after she discovers her far more powerful birth family. (Chapters 2–3 and 10)

Her first private encounter with Zhou is traumatic. His Black Pearl-driven Jewel awakening triggers an uncontrolled Demonic Change in which he sexually assaults her, leaving her injured, humiliated, and initially prepared to kill him. After regaining control, she instead returns the Immortal Deity manual he dropped and imposes a three-point covenant: he must remain loyal to Heavenly Bow, conceal his Heavenly Jewel identity until he can protect himself, and never again force her to accept him. That choice is not immediate forgiveness. It is an attempt to place strict boundaries around a dangerous new Jewel Master whose power may nevertheless be vital to their country. She assigns him as her aide and personally teaches him Jewel cultivation before recruit training begins. (Chapters 6–10)

Shared field service gradually replaces fear and resentment with demonstrated trust. Bing'er uses the Purple Dawn Bow, Wind Blades, speed, and tracking shots during the raid against the Kalise supply camp, while Zhou creates openings and repeatedly exposes himself to danger to protect her. When Direwolves trap them, she ignores his orders to escape and returns to his side, declaring that they will share life and death. Her conduct is consistent with the officer introduced at the start: she can be gentle in private, but in combat she remains composed, accepts risk, and refuses safety bought by abandoning a comrade. Learning that Zhou hid his identity as Admiral Zhou's son briefly damages the trust they have built, but she follows the dispute through rather than ending their connection. The two enter the Heavenly Bow Unit, where its leader Hua Feng becomes her principal archery teacher. Roughly two years of training in movement, battlefield awareness, survival, and the unit's unconventional shooting methods turn her natural speed into a disciplined specialty. When she and Zhou leave for the Fei Li Military Academy, she is a three-Jeweled veteran whose technical archery is already judged better than his, even though his attributes and weapons give him greater raw offensive potential. After a period apart, Bing'er reunites with Zhou in Fei Li City and joins him in registering for military command studies. When the academy refuses to recognize their Heavenly Bow noble titles, she does not let the insult divert them into empty confrontation; she reminds Zhou that their purpose is to learn what will make their country stronger. Her outlook makes her a counterweight to his appetite for escalation. She is willing to challenge abuse, but she measures conflicts against the larger purpose that brought them to Fei Li rather than against wounded pride alone. (Chapters 37–43)

Their romantic relationship develops alongside clearer boundaries. Bing'er tells Zhou that Tang Xian forbade sexual relations before marriage, and he agrees. When other women begin taking an interest in him, she does not pretend the possibility away: drawing on her mother's advice, she asks that he never forget her and that any additional partner receive her approval. The accommodation reveals both generosity and insecurity. Bing'er recognizes Zhou's appeal and refuses to control him by force, yet she wants honesty and a voice in decisions that can wound her. Her frequent response to his provocations is restraint rather than passivity; she can rebuke him, leave an argument, or insist on terms without trying to imitate his shamelessness. (Chapters 41–45)

Bing'er also provides the practical care that makes Zhou's increasingly reckless projects sustainable. She accompanies him during the Consolidating Equipment wagers involving Yun Li and Lin Tianao, keeps his secrets, and worries when his bets place his freedom or life at risk. After prolonged scroll work she brings him food and clean clothing, then asks him not to treat his future as a stake he can casually gamble. Her concern does not prevent her from recognizing his achievement or working with the people he recruits. It is an insistence that brilliance without self-preservation will not help either their relationship or Heavenly Bow. (Chapters 55–61)

Her skill earns her a place among the Fei Li Battle Team's substitutes for the Heavenly Jewel Tournament. The selection keeps her paired with Zhou and gives the team a specialist who can suppress multiple opponents from range. She enters the journey as neither a ceremonial companion nor simply the protagonist's lover: Lin Tianao's group treats her rapid fire, mobility, and battlefield experience as a distinct tactical resource, one particularly useful in team engagements where stronger melee fighters need openings. (Chapters 62–67)

Tournament archery and discovery of her birth family

Before the formal matches, Bing'er gives the team a precise account of what she can and cannot do: her specialty is rapid fire, her direct attack power is lower than Zhou's, and she lacks his control skills. Against seven Blood Blaze Lionesses, she then demonstrates why those limits do not make her weak. She releases seven arrows in a single sequence, varies their arrival times, targets the eyes, and deliberately lets only one beast through so Drunken Bao can finish it. Even while limited to three Jewels and the relatively weak Green Spirit Bow, she suppresses seven higher-stage beasts through timing, weak-point accuracy, and continuous pressure. Lin Tianao recognizes that her calm support reflects real battlefield experience rather than practice-ground speed. (Chapters 67–68)

In ZhongTian City, Bing'er's resemblance to Heaven's Expanse Palace's young women first causes confusion and then reveals a history hidden from her since birth. She meets Shangguan Xue'er, learns that they are two of triplet sisters, and hears that their mother's surname confirms the connection. Bing'er's first instinct is not excitement about status but fear that investigating her father will reopen Tang Xian's pain. When Shangguan Tianyue arrives, identifies himself as her father, and says he has searched for mother and daughter for years, she cannot immediately call him Father. The discovery gives her a powerful lineage but also forces her to confront the cost of the separation that shaped her childhood. (Chapters 75–76)

Tianyue takes Bing'er back to Heaven's Expanse Palace after using Zhou's safety to secure her agreement. Bing'er immediately declares that she will love only Zhou, while Tianyue frames the separation as a test of whether Zhou can become worthy of her. Her removal ends her direct participation in Fei Li's tournament campaign. It also changes the meaning of Zhou's goal: reunion now requires him to cross the gulf between a small empire's young officer and a daughter of one of the Five Great Saint Lands. Bing'er, meanwhile, enters the palace as its Third Young Miss without surrendering the loyalties and relationship she formed before knowing that title existed. (Chapters 76 and 82–110)

Separation during the Peerless Battalion's rise

While Zhou builds the Ruffian Battalion into the Peerless Battalion, Bing'er remains at Heaven's Expanse Palace in prolonged closed-door cultivation. The separation keeps her physically absent from the northern campaign, but it is not inactivity: she accepts an intensive training period intended to close the cultivation gap between a late-starting triplet and the sisters raised with Saint Land resources from childhood. By the time she emerges, the palace has raised her from three to six Jewels and equipped her with the beginnings of a God Tier Legendary Set organized around flight and Wind. (Chapters 118–171, 207, and 226–227)

Her absence also becomes an ethical boundary within her sisters' growing relationships with Zhou. Shangguan Fei'er, who serves beside him in the Peerless Battalion, feels that she cannot simply claim the man already engaged to Bing'er. Xue'er likewise insists that Fei'er speak to their younger sister and obtain her forgiveness rather than rely on distance and secrecy. Their discussions repeatedly describe Bing'er as kind and goodhearted, but they also acknowledge that this kindness makes deceiving her worse, not easier. Bing'er therefore shapes the emotional terms of the northern arc even though closed cultivation prevents her from choosing those terms in person. (Chapters 116 and 153)

Zhou's continuing attachment to Bing'er is similarly defined through separation. Her memory remains tied to the gentleness and security missing during his homeland's destruction, while Fei'er is charged at first with monitoring whether he betrays her. Bing'er receives the benefits of palace cultivation but pays for them by being absent during the fall of Heavenly Bow and the formation of the force meant to restore it. That tradeoff becomes the central regret she expresses when the two finally meet again: strength gained in isolation cannot recover the chance to support someone during the moment he most needed her. Reunion, the Lustre Spatial Realm, and imperial restoration

When Bing'er completes closed cultivation, the intensity of the process leaves her condition temporarily unstable, and her sisters delay an emotionally overwhelming meeting until Zhou reaches Heavenly Jewel Island. Once she sees him injured after his duel with Zhan LingTian, she rushes to him and remains at his bedside. Their reunion is marked less by accusation than by mutual apology. Zhou feels guilty for his relationships with other women; Bing'er says she does not blame Tian'er or her sisters and instead regrets that she was absent when Heavenly Bow fell. Her acceptance is a deliberate judgment that those companions helped him survive, though it also reflects her tendency to take pain and responsibility onto herself. (Chapters 207–215 and 226)

Bing'er rejoins the three Shangguan sisters in the Heavenly Jewel Tournament finals and enters the altered Lustre Spatial Realm with them, Tian'er, and Zhou. Her new Legendary Equipment reveals four-piece Wings of the Wind God as well as torso armor, all oriented toward her Wind and agility path. Zhou supplies her with Saint Energy for emergency defense, but she remains responsible for deploying it and for keeping pace with a group facing the realm's abnormal heat and the threatened dragon family. When Xue'er admits that the sisters concealed the full danger, Bing'er shares the relief that Zhou does not treat their decision as betrayal; all three had entered the danger themselves rather than asking him to bear it alone. (Chapters 226–233)

After the crisis, Heaven's Expanse Palace recognizes Zhou's bonds with the three sisters and entrusts him with recovering the Spatial Teleportation Gem from XuanTian Palace. Bing'er is the sister selected to accompany him. On their departure they are ambushed by two Blood Red Hell Heavenly Kings; she instantly takes flight, attacks with the Wings of the Wind God, and follows Zhou's control effects against one enemy. When the opponent self-detonates, Zhou shields her, but her aerial strike has already helped force the clash's tempo. During the remaining journey she manages the mount and daily necessities while he assimilates his new power, turning the mission from an individual infiltration into another period of close partnership. (Chapters 234–235)

The XuanTian expedition and return home

Bing'er and Zhou cross the ocean together, alternating control of their vessel and cultivation rather than leaving the voyage to one exhausted traveler. On reaching the XuanTian Continent they hide their origins, present themselves as a married couple, and enter the XuanTian selection process. Bing'er is the more plausible conventional recruit: her Wind Attribute, six-Jeweled cultivation, and elite equipment can earn attention without exposing the impossible range of powers Zhou must conceal. She warns him when his reactions to corrupt examiners threaten that safer plan, functioning as both cover partner and the person who remembers that their goal is infiltration, not local glory. (Chapters 235–241)

The expedition produces her seventh Jewel breakthrough. Zhou's Saint Energy supports her cultivation, but the result still rests on her own sustained practice; she spends most of their settled time cultivating while he works on Consolidating Equipment. Her Wings of the Wind God then serve as the platform for his public demonstration before XuanTian Palace: fifty sheets of Consolidating Paper are fixed across the enormous wings while her Wind energy stabilizes the arrangement. The display validates Zhou as a God Tier Consecrated and simultaneously establishes Bing'er as a seven-Jeweled Elder whose four-piece God Tier wings mark her as a major talent in her own right. Bing'er remains within XuanTian Citadel while Zhou becomes entangled with its senior leadership and the Terror Sea Dragon operation. She continues cultivating rather than intruding on meetings beyond her assumed rank, but she is not oblivious to the personal risk surrounding Dreamwake: she warns Zhou that her sisters will not accept him bringing another woman home. After the mission succeeds, she returns with him to Heavenly Jewel Island, greets Tang Xian, and stands with her family while Zhou formally asks permission to marry all three sisters. She then accompanies him back toward Heavenly Bow, her place no longer divided between an unknown father and the partner from whom that father once removed her. (Chapters 244–259)

Heavenly King breakthrough and the Elf Tribe alliance

Following Zhou's later breakthrough to Heavenly Emperor, Bing'er becomes the first of the Shangguan sisters to attempt the Heavenly King stage under the nourishment of his Galaxia Saint Energy. Because she has no innate Saint Attribute, she does not form a true Saint Nucleus Core like Zhou's. Instead, her Wind energy combines with the supplied Saint Energy into a Wind Spirit sub-Saint Nucleus Core. It can absorb atmospheric energy independently and is described as superior to an ordinary Heavenly King's core, but its Saint Energy is mixed rather than perfectly pure. This distinction preserves her original cultivation identity: the advancement amplifies her Wind specialization instead of replacing it. (Chapters 761–766)

Once Xue'er and Fei'er complete their own breakthroughs, Bing'er travels with Zhou and his wives to seek the Elf Tribe's sealed realm. Her Wind Spirit core gives her flight speed comparable to a Heavenly Emperor despite her lower cultivation tier, making her the fastest conventional flyer in the party. She remains close to Zhou during the search and shares the group's decision to enter through the realm's laws rather than attack its barrier. When the Elven Princess's abduction turns the visit into a crisis, Bing'er stays with the family group while Zhou and the Elven Queen pursue the kidnappers, accepting that raw attachment does not make her the right person for every stage of a rescue. (Chapters 772–791)

Back in Heavenly Bow City, Bing'er supports Zhou during the twenty-day creation of his final Legendary Set piece. When assassins launch concentrated Destruction Energy at the immobilized scroll-maker, Xue'er intercepts first; Bing'er and Fei'er arrive immediately afterward and attack without hesitation, prioritizing Zhou's protection despite the vast difference in force. Both are thrown aside, and the mixed Saint Energy in their bodies is less effective against pure Destruction than Tian'er's four-Saint-attribute power. The failed interception nonetheless demonstrates Bing'er's late-stage role clearly: speed lets her reach a crisis almost instantly, but her core does not remove the need for stronger allies or make every collision survivable. Saint Lands war and the Netherworld seal

Bing'er accompanies the Peerless and Heaven's Expanse forces during the Grand Tournament of Saint Lands, where the struggle against Blood Red Hell and Love Valley develops into open war. She is not one of the principal duelists against Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly God leaders; her value lies in the allied formation, aerial support, and the shared Saint-enhanced cultivation of the Shangguan sisters. This is an important limit on her late power. Heavenly King status and exceptional flight allow her to survive and respond on a Saint Land battlefield, but do not place her on the same offensive tier as Zhou, Long Shiya, or the Saint Land lords. (Chapters 801–835)

After Fen Tian's defeat reveals the failing Netherworld seal, Bing'er immediately volunteers to go with Zhou, as do her sisters and the other wives. She asks the question behind their insistence—what happens if the Nether Lord actually breaks free—and does not accept easy reassurance. Zhou answers with a farewell that acknowledges both the harm at the beginning of their relationship and the guidance she provided afterward. He then renders the wives unconscious so that they cannot follow him into a realm where their less-pure Saint Energy would not make them effective against the Nether Lord. Bing'er's exclusion is therefore imposed on her, not a choice to abandon the final danger. (Chapters 836–845)

She is the first of the unconscious group to wake outside the abyss and immediately asks where Zhou has gone. Realizing the answer, she begs Fei'er to help search for him, but the gathered Saint Land leaders explain that following would distract rather than save him. Bing'er waits with the others through the attempt to reinforce the seal and the news that Zhou and Tian'er have been dragged fully into the Netherworld. When they return alive, she is reunited with the partner she first introduced to Heavenly Jewel cultivation. The final family settlement places her among the wives and relatives who share the peaceful realm Zhou creates after refusing godhood. (Chapters 845–848)

Appearance and personality

Bing'er is introduced as the Heavenly Bow Empire's foremost young beauty. She has exceptionally smooth pale skin, delicate and symmetrical features, large light-blue eyes, and long azure hair usually tied into a ponytail while in uniform. Her eyes are the easiest way to distinguish her from the physically identical Xue'er and Fei'er: Bing'er's gaze is gentle and warm, Xue'er's is cold and reserved, and Fei'er's is more lively. In military clothing, Bing'er's soft beauty is paired with a valiant bearing appropriate to an officer who has already earned rank in the field. (Chapters 2–3, 20, and 76)

Her defining trait is gentleness disciplined by responsibility. She consistently considers the Heavenly Bow Empire, her mother, Zhou, and later her sisters before herself. That concern can become self-blame: after years of forced separation, she apologizes for having trained rather than being present during Zhou's worst period, even though she did not cause the homeland's fall or know about it while secluded. Her willingness to forgive is therefore neither ignorance nor an absence of pain. She understands betrayal and jealousy, sets conditions when necessary, and chooses reconciliation because she values sustained relationships more than punitive victory. (Chapters 7, 25–26, 41–45, 76, and 226)

Bing'er's quiet manner should not be confused with weakness. She holds military command at fifteen, fights efficiently under ambush, refuses to flee while Zhou remains in danger, and attacks Destruction Energy far above her tier to protect him. She is also capable of direct moral pressure: she asks Zhou to stop staking his life in wagers, warns him against adding another partner during the XuanTian mission, and questions his reassuring account of the Netherworld danger. Her courage is most often expressed through steadiness, precise action, and remaining beside others rather than through speeches or dominance. (Chapters 20–24, 61, 234–244, 798, and 836)

Abilities and cultivation

Bing'er is a pure agility Heavenly Jewel Master whose Dragonstone Jade Physical Jewels enhance speed and whose King Tourmaline Elemental Jewels carry the Wind Attribute. Her development remains unusually coherent: Consolidated Equipment, Stored Skills, archery, Legendary wings, and her final Nucleus Core all reinforce mobility, projectile control, and tactical support.

Heavenly Jewels and Wind techniques

Each of Bing'er's Physical Jewels gives the enhanced bodily improvement associated with a Heavenly Jewel Master and is specialized toward agility. Her Wind Elemental Jewels further increase movement and attack speed, giving her a double mobility advantage. Early in the corpus this lets her outpace Zhou even when he supplements himself with Wind energy; later it supports rapid repositioning between shots and makes closing on her difficult. The specialization does not provide the strength or defense of other Physical Jewel types, so she depends on distance, awareness, and equipment rather than absorbing attacks directly. (Chapters 3, 10, 20–23, and 67)

Her first Stored Skill is Wind Blades, which produces multiple crescent-shaped cutting attacks at short range. Hua Feng rates it as only a low-growth, two-star skill, and Bing'er does not treat it as a decisive finisher. It instead covers the range inside her bow's ideal distance, drives back lesser enemies, or creates space for movement. The broader Wind affinity empowers her arrows and later interacts with the Wings of the Wind God and Wind Spirit core. The corpus does not enumerate every later Stored Skill, so her established repertoire should not be expanded from her equipment's visual effects alone. (Chapters 10, 23, and 31)

Archery and battlefield control

Bing'er's earliest Consolidated Equipment is the Silent Tracking Arrow, a Dragonstone Jade projectile controlled by her will. It can curve around obstacles, strike from changing angles within its effective radius, pierce armor more effectively than an ordinary arrow, and return for reuse while she has sufficient Heavenly Energy. Hua Feng considers it modest as a long-term Consolidated item, but in Bing'er's hands it remains valuable because tracking converts her accuracy into pressure against moving or partially covered targets. She later uses a skill of the same translated name through an arrow against a Blood Blaze Lioness, increasing penetration enough to exploit the eye despite its flame defense. Her second early Consolidated item is the socketed Wind Wielding Boots. They are rated much higher than the Silent Tracking Arrow and amplify the movement on which her entire combat method depends; Hua Feng notes that at nine Jewels their growth could support flight. Before that threshold, Bing'er combines the boots with her natural agility and Wind energy for abrupt acceleration, evasive changes of direction, and mobile shooting. A socket permits a compatible Elemental Jewel or Heavenly Beast nucleus core to reinforce the equipment, although the corpus does not establish a permanent socketed core for her. The Purple Dawn Bow is her main early conventional weapon, later supplemented by the smaller Green Spirit Bow. Her signature technique is not a single supernatural attack but exceptionally fast, varied archery: she can release several arrows nearly together, alter their paths and arrival times, and continue accurate fire while moving at ultimate-agility speed. Against stronger targets she aims at eyes and other weak points, suppressing their vision and movement so allies can finish them. This makes her especially effective in a team and at prepared distance, but her lower raw penetration means heavy defenses and very tough opponents can withstand the arrows unless she uses a stronger skill, weapon, or coordinated opening. Wings of the Wind God

During closed cultivation at Heaven's Expanse Palace, Bing'er receives a God Tier Legendary Set built around the Wings of the Wind God. At six Jewels the visible equipment includes torso protection and a pair of dark-gold wings assembled from four separate Consolidated pieces. Fully spread, the wings reach roughly ten metres and carry a concentrated Wind aura. Their multi-piece construction makes them far more powerful than ordinary Consolidated wings, giving her true aerial maneuverability well before her Nucleus Core later grants natural Heavenly King flight. The wings serve offense, defense, and movement. Bing'er can vanish from an attack line with a single beat, descend with enormous wing slashes, and project concentrated azure Wind force against enemies. Their size also lets Zhou use them as a stable Wind-supported working surface during his fifty-scroll XuanTian demonstration, an improvised application rather than an inherent crafting ability of Bing'er's own. They remain part of a larger Legendary Set whose complete number of pieces is only estimated in the corpus; the text establishes the wings and body pieces but does not provide a reliable full inventory of every finished component. (Chapters 227, 234, and 243–244)

Saint Energy nourishment and the Wind Spirit core

Zhou repeatedly transfers Saint Energy to Bing'er for defense and cultivation. Ten early drops provide an emergency reserve in the altered Lustre Spatial Realm, and longer-term paired cultivation accelerates her from six to seven Jewels and then toward the higher Zong stages. This support does not give her Zhou's six attributes or Tian'er's Saint Attributes. It nourishes her existing Wind-based foundation, improves the quality of her energy, and makes rapid breakthroughs possible while still requiring her own concentrated cultivation. (Chapters 227, 237, 244, and 761–766)

At the Heavenly King breakthrough, that distinction produces the Wind Spirit Saint Nucleus Core. Wind energy is mixed through the Saint Energy Zhou supplies, so the result is described as a sub-Saint Nucleus Core rather than a true, pure Saint core. It independently absorbs and filters atmospheric energy, sustains her cultivation without continuous replenishment from Zhou, and exceeds an ordinary Heavenly King's core in quality. Its clearest practical effect is speed: once formed, Bing'er's flight alone is comparable to that of a Heavenly Emperor. Its limitation appears against pure Destruction Energy, where the Shangguan sisters' mixed Saint power cannot counter the opposing force as effectively as Tian'er's purer Saint Energy. • Zhou Weiqing: Bing'er's first encounter with Zhou is an assault during his uncontrolled awakening. She establishes strict conditions afterward, becomes his first Jewel-cultivation teacher, and gradually builds a loving partnership through shared service, separation, reunion, and marriage. Her gentleness guides him, while her willingness to challenge his risks and infidelity prevents that gentleness from being simple submission. (Chapters 6–24, 37–76, 207–260, 772–801, and 836–848)
• Tang Xian: Bing'er's mother raises her alone outside Heaven's Expanse Palace. Bing'er's first reaction to discovering her father and sisters is concern that reopening the past will hurt Tang Xian, showing the depth of the loyalty formed during their isolated childhood. Bing'er explicitly refuses to blame her for supporting Zhou during the years of separation, while Tian'er's purer Saint Energy later protects the Shangguan sisters from Destruction power they cannot neutralize alone. • Hua Feng: Hua Feng leads the Heavenly Bow Unit and is Bing'er's principal archery teacher. His training turns her natural agility and early military experience into the rapid, unpredictable shooting style for which she becomes known. (Chapters 25–34 and 67)
• Lin Tianao: Lin first evaluates Bing'er as a Fei Li teammate and recognizes the battlefield value behind her comparatively low attack power. His stable command gives her suppression archery a structure in which allies can exploit the openings she creates. (Chapters 62–76)
