Duke Huai

Duke Huai is an ambitious royal duke who attempts to replace the Demon Emperor's line and seize control of the Illusory Demon Realm.

Biography

A century-long bid for the throne

Duke Huai exploits the Little Demon Empress's uncertain position after the previous Demon Emperor's disappearance, draws much of the royal family and several Guardian Families into his faction, and quietly collaborates with forces tied to Mighty Heavenly Sword Region. His attempted takeover reaches its climax at the Little Demon Empress's centennial ceremony, where Yun Qinghong and Yun Che expose the conspiracy and reverse its political momentum. After the Little Demon Empress obtains the Golden Crow's power and restores her authority, she executes Duke Huai, his household, and the relatives covered by the punishment for treason. Appearance and personality

Duke Huai carries the composed bearing expected of the Illusory Demon Royal Family and initially conceals naked ambition beneath courtesy and political procedure. He is patient, calculating, and willing to use marriage ties, factional pressure, and foreign support rather than rely on a single attack, but becomes increasingly direct once the throne appears within reach. Abilities and cultivation

As the head of a powerful duke palace, Duke Huai is an elite profound practitioner with royal resources, guards, and influence over multiple factions. His greater danger is organizational: he turns a long succession crisis into a coordinated rebellion. That network cannot overcome the Little Demon Empress after her Golden Crow awakening, and his power offers no escape once her supremacy is established. (Chapters 531–575 and 632–636)
