Yun Qinghong

Yun Qinghong is the patriarch of the Illusory Demon Realm's Yun family, the son of Yun Canghai, and the biological father of Yun Che. Once the youngest Monarch in his realm's history, he spends two decades crippled by cold poison before his lost son restores both body and authority. His patience, political perception, and refusal to confuse power with worth make him one of Yun Che's clearest models of leadership.

Biography

Lost sons and a crippled patriarch

Yun Qinghong and Mu Yurou travel to the Profound Sky Continent while enemies pursue the Demon Emperor and Yun Canghai. Their newborn is poisoned during the escape. Xiao Ying exchanges his own infant son for Yun Che so that the Yun bloodline can survive, leaving Yun Qinghong to raise Yun Xiao while his biological child remains in Floating Cloud City. The couple return unable to rescue either friend or son and are themselves left poisoned, their meridians ruined and their former cultivation inaccessible. (Chapters 496 and 503–510)

For twenty-two years Yun Qinghong retains the patriarch's title while losing the physical strength and clan support that once made his commands absolute. He does not answer humiliation with impulsive purges. He studies the elder council, protects Yun Xiao, preserves loyalty to the Little Demon Empress, and waits for proof of Duke Huai's conspiracy. When the visiting Yun Che offers an impossible cure, Qinghong recognizes sincerity beneath the youth's evasions and accepts the treatment without demanding secrets Yun Che is not yet prepared to reveal. Recovery and the Yun family crisis

Yun Che removes the cold poison and reconstructs the damaged bodies of Yun Qinghong and Mu Yurou. Qinghong conceals the pace of that recovery, letting Yun Waitian, Yun Xinyue, and Duke Hui's faction believe he remains helpless. He quietly directs Yun Xiao, listens to Yun Che's deductions, and allows the succession gathering to proceed until the conspirators have committed themselves in public. The apparent invalid then resumes command with both evidence and restored Monarch strength, turning a planned deposition into the recovery of the Yun family's political center. (Chapters 505–526)

Qinghong identifies Yun Che as his son before the formal revelation but refuses to claim him through pressure. He and Yurou let the young man decide when to speak, accepting that Xiao Lie and Xiao Lingxi are not rivals for his loyalty but the family that saved and raised him. Once Yun Canghai's seal and the history of the child exchange are brought into the open, Qinghong embraces both Yun Che and Yun Xiao as sons. That choice prevents restored bloodline pride from reproducing the same cruelty that separated the households. (Chapters 507–532)

Guardian-family restoration

During the Little Demon Empress's centennial ceremony, Yun Qinghong coordinates with Yun Che to expose Duke Huai's coalition and restore the credibility of the Twelve Guardian Families. His authority rests on preparation rather than spectacle: he reads which elders are compromised, controls when to reveal recovered strength, and places the Demon Emperor's Seal and Yun Canghai's loyalty within a case the assembled realm cannot dismiss. He fights when necessary but treats the survival of the imperial line and the correction of the Yun family's failures as more important than personal vindication. (Chapters 533–590)

The conflict continues through Golden Crow Lightning Flame Valley and Duke Huai's seizure of power. Qinghong remains a principal strategist and defender until Yun Che and the Little Demon Empress return with the strength to reverse the coup. With the Guardian Families restored, he rebuilds the clan rather than using victory to settle every private grievance. His marriage to Mu Yurou, trust in both sons, and loyalty to the Little Demon Empress make the recovered household a political symbol of the realm that survived the usurpation. (Chapters 591–688)

A father to a traveler

Yun Qinghong cannot keep Yun Che within the Illusory Demon Realm, and he does not try to turn paternal fear into confinement. He supports his son's return to the Profound Sky Continent, receives the people Yun Che brings into the family, and later accepts that the search for Jasmine requires entry into the God Realm. His advice emphasizes preparation, responsibility, and returning alive rather than obedience for its own sake, even though each departure reopens the loss that shaped the preceding twenty years. That trust also changes how he governs the family. Yun Xiao is not displaced when Yun Che's birthright becomes known; instead Qinghong gives both sons a place built around ability, character, and affection. He treats Cang Yue, Feng Xue'er, the Little Demon Empress, Su Ling'er, and Yun Che's other bonds as extensions of a complicated household rather than political embarrassments. The result is a family structure capable of absorbing Yun Che's many worlds without demanding that one origin erase another. (Chapters 688–944)

Blue Pole Star and Yun Wuxin

When Yun Che returns from the God Realm, Yun Qinghong meets Yun Wuxin and welcomes the granddaughter whose existence Yun Che had only just discovered. He helps place Chu Yuechan and Wuxin within the larger family and supports the period of peace on Blue Pole Star. His position is no longer that of an isolated patriarch defending one clan; the Yun household now connects the Illusory Demon Realm, Blue Wind, Divine Phoenix, and the relatives gathered around Yun Che. (Chapters 1374–1407)

The apparent destruction of Blue Pole Star later seems to annihilate that entire life and drives Yun Che toward the Northern Divine Region. In reality, Xia Qingyue and Shui Meiyin have moved and concealed the planet. Qinghong and the family survive inside the protected world, separated from Yun Che while he believes them dead. Their eventual reunion after the imperial war restores the father who taught restraint to a son who has conquered four divine regions through grief. (Chapters 1500–1580 and 1815–1884)

Emperor Yun and the Abyssal absence

Yun Qinghong receives Yun Che after his victory without treating the title of Emperor Yun as a barrier between father and son. He shares the family's relief, observes the cost left by war and Xia Qingyue's hidden sacrifice, and remains one of the elders whose judgment is personal rather than ceremonial. His value in the imperial household comes from the same quality that preserved the Yun family while crippled: he can recognize when authority needs patience, when grief should not dictate policy, and when a younger person must make a choice for himself. After the Half-God crisis and Yun Che's passage into the Abyss, Qinghong remains with the protected family on Blue Pole Star. He cannot participate directly in a journey governed by powers beyond the Primal Chaos, but the household he and Mu Yurou maintain is part of what Yun Che intends to save and return to. No later death or formal advancement is recorded; his latest role remains father, patriarch, and stabilizing elder during another of his son's long absences. (Chapters 1931, 1970, and 1976)

Appearance and personality

At his introduction, Yun Qinghong is a dignified middle-aged man confined to an old wheelchair, with a weakened body and frequent coughing that obscure the authority he once carried. Recovery restores a calm, imposing presence rather than changing his manner. He dresses and lives more simply than his title suggests, and observers often recognize his intelligence before he displays cultivation. (Chapters 503–511)

Qinghong is perceptive, patient, loyal, and emotionally controlled without being cold. He notices connections Yun Che is hiding, understands the elder council's scheme before it is openly stated, and can wait until the correct moment to answer. Toward family he is affectionate and unusually free of possessiveness: he honors Xiao Ying's sacrifice, loves Yun Xiao without qualification, and never asks Yun Che to deny the Xiao household in order to validate his birth parents. Abilities and cultivation

Before his poisoning, Yun Qinghong is the youngest person in Illusory Demon Realm history to become a Monarch. He cultivates the Yun family's Purple Cloud Art, wields lightning profound energy, and commands the Profound Handle inherited through its bloodline. His restored aura, speed, perception, and control return him to the realm's upper hierarchy, allowing him to confront Guardian Family experts and participate in the struggle against Duke Huai's faction. Twenty-two years of injury establish real limits. Cold poison destroys his meridians and suppresses nearly all usable strength; will and knowledge keep him politically relevant but cannot substitute for cultivation in direct battle. Yun Che's treatment removes the toxin and rebuilds the damaged system rather than granting a new formal realm. Later chapters do not document a complete sequence of level advances, so his established Monarch power is not extended into an invented progression. (Chapters 503–521)

His strongest talent is strategic command. Qinghong reads motives, transmits instructions during combat and debate, withholds information without losing allies' trust, and turns an opponent's confidence into evidence against them. He also teaches the Purple Cloud Art and leadership principles to Yun Xiao. These abilities make his influence greater than the number of battles personally decided by his profound strength. Relationships

• Yun Che: His biological son. Qinghong recognizes him without forcing a confession, accepts all parts of his divided family, and offers a model of patient authority that Yun Che only gradually learns to follow.
• Mu Yurou: His wife and partner through exile, poisoning, lost children, recovery, and restored clan leadership. Their affection remains open even during political crisis.
• Xiao Yun: Xiao Ying's biological son, raised by Qinghong and Yurou after the infant exchange. Qinghong continues to regard him as fully his son after Yun Che returns.
• Yun Canghai: His father, whose loyalty to the Demon Emperor leads to imprisonment and death. Qinghong restores his name and treats the Demon Emperor's Seal as a duty rather than a family trophy.
• Little Demon Empress: His sovereign and long-standing ally. Loyalty to her imperial line guides his resistance to Duke Huai even when the Yun family is at its weakest.
• Xiao Lie: The grandfather who raises Yun Che in the Profound Sky Continent. Qinghong regards the Xiao family's care as an unpayable debt and does not compete with the bond it created.

Items

Yun Qinghong's most important object of authority is the Yun Family Patriarch's Crest, returned through Yun Che after Yun Canghai's death. It confirms the continuity of the patriarchal line and helps expose the political fraud surrounding his planned removal. His combat identity is based on the Profound Handle and Purple Cloud Art rather than a named personal weapon. (Chapters 526–590)
