Yun Gu

Yun Gu is the Medical Saint of the Azure Cloud Continent and Yun Che's medical master in his former life. His teaching turns an orphan into a healer, while his death helps turn that disciple into the vengeful fugitive who eventually leaps from Cloud's End Cliff. In the altered timeline, Yun Che finds Yun Gu alive, protects him without compromising the physician's principles, and brings him to a household where his medicine can serve without persecution.

Biography

The Medical Saint and his lost disciple

In Yun Che's first life, Yun Gu rescues and teaches the young man who will become known for both medicine and poison. He transmits the Heavenly Medicine Manual and a discipline centered on saving life regardless of wealth or faction. Yun Che's medical skill eventually surpasses ordinary limits, but the moral clarity of the art always remains associated with the master who treated patients rather than enemies and allies. (Chapters 891–895 and 1316–1319)

Powerful pursuers seeking the Sky Poison Pearl kill Yun Gu in that former timeline. His death breaks Yun Che's restraint and sends the disciple into years of revenge, during which the pearl's poison takes countless lives. Rebirth does not remove the guilt: Yun Che continues to measure the healer he became and the murderer he became against the teacher whose death he failed to prevent. (Chapters 893–895 and 1316)

Rescue in the altered Azure Cloud timeline

When Yun Che returns to the Azure Cloud Continent in the present timeline, he hears the name Yun Gu and discovers his master alive but threatened by sects seeking his treasure and medical knowledge. He suppresses the impulse to rush in blindly, then intervenes with Su Ling'er and places himself between the physician and his attackers. The reunion is one-sided in memory—Yun Gu has not lived their former relationship—but Yun Che still addresses him with a disciple's devotion. (Chapters 891–893)

Yun Che spares enemies he would otherwise destroy because killing them before Yun Gu would violate the master's deepest principles. The restraint proves that rescuing Yun Gu means more than preserving his body; it means refusing to turn the rescue into another betrayal of what he teaches. The encounter also reveals the divided form of the Sky Poison Pearl, joining Yun Gu's possession to the treasure already fused with Yun Che. (Chapters 893–895)

Yun Che brings Yun Gu and Ling'er to the Illusory Demon Realm. There, the Medical Saint examines the Little Demon Empress and applies his knowledge to a condition that has resisted the realm's usual methods. His authority comes from diagnosis and method rather than cultivation rank, and even sovereign leaders defer to his judgment once they witness the results. (Chapters 896–898)

He establishes himself in the Yun family's medicinal courtyard and treats Su Hengshan and other difficult patients. Yun Che resists forcing the full truth of their former master-disciple bond upon him, allowing the present Yun Gu to choose his place while still offering the safety and resources his prior self never possessed. Work while Yun Che enters the God Realm

Before leaving for the God Realm, Yun Che relies on Yun Gu's medical care for the people remaining behind. The Golden Crow Soul recognizes that a supposedly mortal physician has accomplished work beyond what many divine practitioners could reproduce, suggesting that the art Yun Gu inherited contains a truth neither teacher nor student originally understood. Yun Gu continues operating from the medicinal courtyard during Yun Che's absence. He treats recurring illnesses, consults with Ling'er, and becomes a stable source of care for the connected Yun and Xiao families. His presence lets Yun Che depart knowing that the household has a physician whose judgment he trusts more deeply than rank or reputation. (Chapter 1037)

The Divine Miracle of Life

In the God Realm, Yun Che learns that the Heavenly Medicine Manual taught by Yun Gu is actually connected to the Divine Miracle of Life, the Creation God Art of Li Suo. The discovery explains how Yun Gu's healing could exceed the assumptions attached to his mortal cultivation. His achievement came from a profound grasp of life energy and medical principle, even without knowledge of the manual's primordial origin. (Chapters 1316 and 1319)

Yun Che's later mastery of the Divine Miracle of Life surpasses Yun Gu in scale, but he still identifies the Medical Saint as his foundation. When Chu Yuechan's profound veins require restoration, Yun Che invokes Yun Gu's ability with absolute confidence. The student's greater power does not erase the master; it confirms how far the transmitted art can reach. (Chapters 1319 and 1367)

A peaceful later life

After the imperial war, Yun Gu remains in a large herb garden in the Illusory Demon Realm. In little more than a decade, he becomes renowned among the imperial family and Twelve Guardian Families as a peerless and benevolent doctor. Increased fame does not alter his habits: he works among plants and patients rather than seeking a political title. (Chapter 1889)

Yun Che visits him with the affection and reverence of a disciple even though his own healing has crossed into the essence of life. Yun Gu's survival is one of the clearest corrections granted by the altered timeline: the man whose murder once unleashed Yun Che's worst hatred now lives under the protection created by his student's second chance. Appearance and personality

Yun Gu is an elderly man with pale arms, a calm manner, and the unadorned appearance of a traveling physician. He does not project the martial pressure expected from the experts who surround him, which makes the respect he receives rest visibly on character and skill. (Chapters 891–898)

He is compassionate, principled, and almost dangerously impartial. Yun Gu treats the wounded according to need and disapproves of vengeance even when directed at people who threaten him. His purity can leave him vulnerable to predatory sects, but it is also the standard strong enough to halt Yun Che at moments when rage would otherwise decide everything. (Chapters 892–895)

Abilities and cultivation

Yun Gu is the greatest known physician of the Azure Cloud Continent. He diagnoses obscure conditions, restores injuries believed irreversible, cultivates rare medicines, and applies the Heavenly Medicine Manual with insight that produces effects beyond the expectations of conventional profound medicine. His work on the Little Demon Empress and Su Hengshan establishes that reputation across continents. (Chapters 897–919 and 944)

The Heavenly Medicine Manual is later identified with Li Suo's Divine Miracle of Life. Yun Gu does not wield its completed Creation God-level expression as Yun Che eventually does, and his combat cultivation remains modest relative to divine experts.
