About the novel
The Novel's Extra follows Kim Hajin, an author who awakens inside the unfinished story he wrote. Rather than occupying one of its heroes, he becomes an unnamed extra at Cube, the academy where the original plot was supposed to begin. His knowledge of future incidents gives him a route toward the ending and a possible return home, but the world's co-author and Hajin's own interventions continuously revise the narrative he remembers.
Hajin creates Gifts and uses multiple identities—including Fenrir, Black Lotus, and Extra7—to protect the story's principal cast without revealing his role. Those choices create friendships, debts, and painful misunderstandings that cannot be dismissed as fictional once he experiences them directly. The growing conflict with devils, Orden, and Baal turns the author's attempt to repair a manuscript into responsibility for a living world whose people can remember and judge him.
World and Gifts
Heroes train physical ability, magic power, weapons, and supernatural Gifts before joining guilds that respond to monsters, villains, dungeons, and dimensional threats. Cube formalizes that education through rankings and practical exercises, while guilds and mercenary groups compete for talent and influence. Towers and special realms introduce their own rules, rewards, and identities, making advancement dependent on context as well as raw power.
Hajin's setting intervention lets him define limited Gifts, equipment, and improvements through accumulated resources. His firearm specialization, observation, and knowledge of hidden events favor precision and preparation rather than direct superiority. As the original plot changes, however, information loses certainty; Hajin must increasingly rely on companions and abilities earned inside the world rather than on authorship alone.
