Jin Sahyuk
Jin Sahyuk is the reincarnated former ruler Prihi of Plerion, one of the last survivors of Akatrina, and Kim Suho's estranged rival. Introduced as a proud and destructive enemy, she repeatedly collides with Kim Hajin, survives defeat and political captivity, and becomes a reluctant ally against Orden and Baal. Her return to the ruined Akatrina ultimately redirects her royal ambition toward finding the people who may have survived there. (Chapters 115–378)
Biography
The survivor from Akatrina
Jin Sahyuk first appears when Kim Suho confronts her at Disneyland. She immediately recognizes him as another survivor of their former world and insists that the social order they knew—nobles, peasants, and knights—still defines them. Suho rejects that premise and calls their past ranks meaningless in their new lives. Sahyuk answers with force: she attacks Chae Nayun, fills the area with condensed spears and beams, and turns the encounter into a contest over whether Suho will submit to the hierarchy she remembers. The destruction establishes both her extraordinary magic power and the central grievance behind her rivalry with Suho: she considers herself a ruler, while he refuses to acknowledge that authority. (Chapters 115–117)
Her life after Akatrina is closely entangled with Bell, who alternates between companion, teacher, and handler. Sahyuk curses his evasiveness and resents his attempts to steer her, but she continues to live and travel with him. Over the following years she builds her strength in Pandemonium's Thousand Demon Arena, advancing from Demon-rank to Fiend-rank. That ascent gives her an outlet for her pride and violence, yet it does not resolve her isolation: she still rejects Suho when he appeals to their shared origin, even though both understand that they may be the only two people left from their world. (Chapters 131, 150, 172, and 177)
Death and pursuit in the Tower of Wish
Sahyuk seeks an unusually valuable black invitation to the Tower of Wish because she believes the Tower's promised lives and rewards should belong to her. When sellers try to cheat her, she incinerates the counterfeit tickets and their bearers; when one person produces the genuine article, she pays the blood diamond she promised. Inside the Tower, however, Hajin hunts her across the second floor. Their prolonged battle exhausts her defenses, and a Stigma-enhanced shot kills her. Tower death returns her to the waiting room, removes her progress, and forces her to begin again from Tutorial Town. Her first reaction is murderous fury, but she refuses to excuse the result: once the rage passes, she accepts that Hajin defeated her and chooses The Prince as her initial occupation because she still sees herself as a future ruler. (Chapters 172 and 176–191)
The defeat leaves longer consequences. A banshee's curse follows Sahyuk even after death and reduces her body to a blackened, painful state until Bell finds an incomplete counteragent and the Tower's artificial sunlight finally cleanses it. She nonetheless climbs again, participates in Crevon's fighting, and fires barrages of magic weapons on its battlefield. Under the name Shin Jahyuk, she receives a mansion from the royal family and becomes Crevon's Knight Commander, although administration interests her far less than the dignity of the title. Her fixation on Hajin also becomes less simple: when the Cat Bell that Bell gave her reports Hajin's brief death, she panics, buys a return ticket to Earth, and later seeks him out after his resurrection while pretending that she only wants to confirm the report. (Chapters 195–215 and 236–246)
Plerion's recorded past
Memories of Plerion return before Sahyuk can make sense of them. She wakes from a vivid experience of being its queen, and soon afterward awakens Reality Manipulation, first trapping the humanoid monster Gato behind a wall that is neither an ordinary barrier nor a conventional spell. After a fight with Bell, she temporarily associates herself with Orden, not out of loyalty to its cause but to avoid Bell's interference and gain access to the Time Barrier. She takes captives to compel Hajin's cooperation, opens a passage, and brings him into a materialized record of Akatrina in Continental Year 555. Her goal is personal: she believes Hajin is connected to Kindspring Winter, the faithful servant she once abandoned. (Chapters 251–258)
Within the record, Prihi is Sahyuk's younger self rather than a separate present-day person. The current Sahyuk acts as the projected girl's stern teacher and watches Prihi's relationship with Kindspring with a jealousy she barely conceals. The experience forces her to confront choices she had treated as settled, including imprisoning a servant who remained loyal to her. When the record begins to collapse, she uses her growing Authority to contain Toji in a cage isolated from reality and later tries to build an escape route, demonstrating control she attributes to what she learned there. Back in Crevon, the identity Shin Jahyuk remains attached to her office as Knight Commander even when she arrives intending to resign it. (Chapters 262–276)
The Orden war and uneasy alliances
Sahyuk's connection to Orden turns openly hostile when Boss and Cheok imprison her under restraints designed to suppress Gifts. New traits called Nonobservance and Distortion let her partly ignore that suppression and strengthen Reality Manipulation, enabling her to materialize her inventory and escape. She pursues revenge, but the larger war forces her into cooperation with people she had hunted. Alongside Hajin she creates blades, suppresses poison, solves a dungeon, and neutralizes Tigris's attack. Their partnership is abrasive and transactional, yet it proves that they can trust each other's power in battle despite their history of mutual killing. (Chapters 273–284 and 293–298)
Bell then directs Sahyuk to intervene when Yi Yeonjun threatens Hajin. She warns Hajin, carries him away through distorted space, and reveals information Bell had concealed. The act moves her farther from both Orden and Bell's control: she is no longer merely following the route another person has prepared for her, and Hajin is no longer only the target around whom her hatred revolves. Even so, she remains suspicious and self-interested, shifting structures inside a training maze to alter its teams and exits when doing so suits her. Her alliances become possible because her goals overlap with those of the heroes, not because her combative temperament disappears. (Chapters 301–308)
Bell, Baal, and Puharen
As the threat of Baal grows, Sahyuk's deepest conflict centers on Bell. She learns that his body is a vessel through which Baal can descend, but knowledge does not make killing him easy. When Bell loses control, she rushes to him in alarm. He asks her to annihilate him completely, an act her Authority could perform by destroying the material container and its soul, but she hesitates. She instead tries to tear apart the veins and Magic Power Body that let him serve as Baal's vessel, spending all of her magic power on an attempt to separate the person she knows from what possesses him. Her inability to treat Bell as a disposable enemy exposes an attachment that years of insults and mistrust had obscured. (Chapters 302 and 329–338)
Inside Baal's castle, Sahyuk joins Suho and Shin Jonghak as a wary ally. The castle confronts her with Plerion's Death Knights and with memories of Prihi's rise: as princess, Prihi purchased Eren's loyalty by saving his master, then seized the throne through a swift and cruel purge after her mother was killed. These scenes explain the ruler Sahyuk has been trying to preserve. She was ambitious and capable of inspiring loyalty, but also willing to imprison her half-brother Puharen and kill or exile the supporters of rival royals. When Sahyuk realizes that Reality Manipulation can alter what lies inside a person, she even uses it on herself to cut away the feelings Puharen awakens, turning her Gift into a means of avoiding guilt as well as defeating enemies. (Chapters 340–350)
Puharen is a distinct person, not another name or form of Jin Sahyuk. He is Prihi's half-brother and Akatrina's legitimate heir, later trapped within Morax. During the final battle Sahyuk remembers the frightened prince behind the enemy, changes her body to cross demonic terrain, and enters his inner mind. There she apologizes and applies Reality Manipulation to him while accepting that the pain he carries may remain within her own heart. The choice reverses her earlier attempt to erase the relationship: rather than deny Puharen's suffering to protect herself, she recognizes both their kinship and her responsibility for what happened to him. (Chapters 360–363)
Return to Akatrina
Sahyuk continues with the coalition against Baal, applying Reality Manipulation to battlefield threats and recognizing Suho's own law-altering Authority. Their former-world rivalry never becomes warm, but they now fight toward the same outcome. After Hajin sacrifices his place in other people's memories, Sahyuk searches Seoul's streets without fully understanding whom she is looking for. She later helps the restored Hajin and Suho during the remaining demon battles, still scowling at emotional reunions while choosing to stand beside the people involved in them. (Chapters 352–375)
She finally leaves Earth without ceremony and returns to Akatrina. The world she finds has been transformed into a barren Demon Realm, but she reasons that the corruption may be limited to the surface and that citizens could still survive underground. Rather than abandon a kingdom that appears dead, she uses Reality Manipulation to push away the surrounding demonic energy long enough for a blue sky to appear and announces her return. Her ending preserves her royal pride while changing its object: she comes back not simply to reclaim a title, but to search for her people and make survival possible. (Chapters 377–378)
Appearance and personality
Jin Sahyuk is an adult woman with a forceful, combative presence; the corpus notes her long, slender fingers but does not give a stable, comprehensive description of her hair, eyes, or height. Her presentation changes with circumstance. She wears revealing fighter's clothing while established in Pandemonium, conceals herself under a robe and stealth oil while being hunted in the Tower, and later carries the bearing of Crevon's Knight Commander. Her most visually distinctive feature in battle is not clothing but her steel-colored magic power, which she shapes into dense weapons, shields, and destructive beams. (Chapters 116, 172, 195, 236–246, and 371)
She is arrogant, profane, impatient, and quick to answer humiliation with violence. Her conviction that she is a ruler can make ordinary cooperation feel like submission, while her dislike of tears and overt sentiment leads her to sneer at emotional scenes. Pride does not make her entirely faithless: she pays a promised reward for the real Tower ticket, accepts her defeat by Hajin without inventing excuses, and takes her office in Crevon seriously enough to fight for it even if she dislikes its meetings. Her concealed loyalties become clearest around Hajin, Bell, and Puharen. Panic at Hajin's reported death, hesitation when Bell asks her to kill him, and her apology to Puharen reveal regret and attachment beneath the hostility she uses to protect herself. (Chapters 172, 180, 236–246, 335–337, 360–363, and 375)
Gifts and abilities
Jin Sahyuk possesses three named Gifts. Magic Weapon Emission supplies her direct destructive power, Targeting binds her to a chosen opponent, and Reality Manipulation becomes her most versatile and consequential ability. She also has enormous magic-power reserves and extensive arena, battlefield, and close-combat experience. (Chapters 116, 180, 215, and 252)
Targeting
Targeting begins when Sahyuk's rage and obsession with Hajin crystallize into a spell and designate him as her target. Its intended effect for Sahyuk is not fully shown. Hajin's extraordinary luck reverses the Gift's relationship instead, causing Sahyuk to be treated as the target of his own developing ability. When he kills her in the Tower, the reversal rewards him with stat growth, Tower Points, tickets, and consolidation benefits. These rewards therefore demonstrate the reversed interaction, not a normal benefit Sahyuk is confirmed to receive. (Chapters 179–180 and 184)
The Gift is psychologically as important as it is mechanical. It turns Sahyuk's hatred into a durable supernatural connection, but the connection outlasts the simple desire to kill. By the Orden war she can cooperate with Hajin, later responds when magic power attached to him calls her Authority, and searches for him after his existence is erased from memory. The corpus does not establish a range, duration, cancellation method, or repeatable activation procedure for Sahyuk's own Targeting, so those limits remain unknown. (Chapters 293–303, 329, and 369–375)
Magic Weapon Emission
Magic Weapon Emission converts Sahyuk's magic power directly into armaments without requiring physical weapons. At Disneyland she condenses dozens of steel-colored spears, fires beams strong enough to tear through the area, and forms a shield capable of stopping a reflected spear. In the Tower she releases a flurry of weapons across Crevon's battlefield, and in later fights she continues to create blades and ranged attacks as her immediate offensive method. The Gift's flexibility lets her switch among projectiles, cutting weapons, defensive constructs, and concentrated force. (Chapters 115–116, 179, 215, and 293–295)
Its dependence on emitted magic power creates clear counters. Hajin's anti-magic Stigma projectile pierces one of her barriers, while Shin Jonghak's black flames burn her magic power and temporarily deny her the advantage of Magic Weapon Emission. Sustained fighting also drains the reserves needed to maintain her constructs. Sahyuk can compensate with physical ability or Reality Manipulation, but the Gift is not an inexhaustible source of matter and can be disrupted by effects that consume or negate magic power. (Chapters 179, 215, 262, and 295)
Reality Manipulation
Reality Manipulation is an Authority that interferes directly with the material world. Its first major application is the Third Wall, a structure that confines Gato despite not behaving like an ordinary barrier or spell. Sahyuk later creates portals, stretches space, builds escape routes, changes a maze's structure, and encloses Toji in a blue cage isolated from reality. These techniques let her transport allies or captives, seal opponents, and reshape a battlefield instead of merely overpowering it. Her experience in Recorded Past — Akatrina makes the Authority easier for her to use, while Distortion strengthens it further. (Chapters 252, 258, 273–284, 303, and 307–308)
The Authority can also alter attacks and physical conditions. Sahyuk neutralizes Tigris's Formless Tiger Punch, controls portions of a poison attack, restores her damaged eyes, and changes the properties of her feet so they can withstand a swamp of demonic energy. Against Bell, she reaches into the body serving as Baal's container and tries to destroy its internal Magic Power Body. She can purify demonic energy and, on returning to Akatrina, temporarily expel enough of it to reveal a blue sky. These uses show that she can negate, restore, transform, or separate existing material phenomena as well as create structures. (Chapters 275, 293–298, 337, 362, and 378)
Its most dangerous applications concern minds and inner states. Sahyuk manipulates her own feelings about Puharen, observes and recreates part of Shin Jonghak's mind to uncover Shin Myungchul's legacy, and enters Puharen's inner world to act on him directly. She also understands that complete manipulation of Bell's container could annihilate him, including the soul attached to it. The Gift's ability to operate “inside” a target makes it potentially more decisive than its visible spatial distortions, although hesitation, incomplete knowledge, and the user's willingness to bear the result remain practical restraints. (Chapters 335–344, 352, and 363)
Reality Manipulation is powerful but neither effortless nor permanent by default. A created product requires a steady supply of Sahyuk's magic power; her prison can persist indefinitely only while she continues feeding it. Heavy use leaves her fatigued or fully depleted, and an opponent can destroy a pathway she has just made. Some transformations have explicit time limits: the resistance she gives her feet lasts only a few minutes, and the demonic-energy clearance over Akatrina is temporary. Gift-suppression devices can impede her until traits such as Nonobservance partly overcome them. (Chapters 275–284, 295, 337, 362, and 378)
Combat ability
Before entering the Tower, Sahyuk reaches Fiend rank in Pandemonium's arena. She combines large magic-power reserves with speed, durability, hand-to-hand experience, and an instinct for direct confrontation. She can fight Kim Suho, Shin Jonghak, Hajin, humanoid monsters, and Baal's forces at close or long range, and she adapts when a favored Gift is countered. Her temperament can still undermine that skill: anger makes her predictable, pride draws her into unfavorable contests, and prolonged high-output fighting can exhaust even her reserves. (Chapters 116, 156–179, 262, 327–328, and 340–364)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Magic Weapon Emission | 115–116 | Condenses her huge magic reserve into spears, beams, shields, and other armaments, gaining versatile offense that anti-magic can still disrupt. |
| Tower death and reset | 180–191 | Hajin kills her after exhausting her defenses; she revives in the waiting room but loses Tower progress and must restart from Tutorial Town. |
| Reality Manipulation | 252–258 | Awakens an Authority that creates nonstandard walls and portals and begins reshaping spatial and material reality rather than only emitting weapons. |
| Nonobservance and Distortion | 284 | New traits partly overcome Gift suppression and strengthen Reality Manipulation, allowing inventory materialization, escape, and more forceful structures. |
Relationships
- Kim Suho: Suho is the only other confirmed survivor of the Akatrina known to Sahyuk when they reunite. She treats him as an insubordinate subject and destined rival, while he refuses the authority of their former social order. Their hostility gradually becomes an uneasy battlefield alliance against Baal, without erasing their arguments over the past. (Chapters 115–117 and 340–364)
- Kim Hajin: Sahyuk's hatred of Hajin activates Targeting, and he kills her inside the Tower. She later suspects that he is connected to Kindspring Winter, brings him into Akatrina's recorded past, and fights beside him during the Orden war. Her panic at the report of his death and her unexplained search after his erasure show that the relationship grows beyond revenge. (Chapters 179–180, 236–238, 254–267, 293–303, and 369–375)
- Bell: Bell is Sahyuk's long-term companion, instructor, and manipulator. She distrusts his secrets and curses him constantly, but remains deeply attached to him. When Baal attempts to use Bell as a vessel, she cannot simply annihilate him and instead risks all of her magic power trying to separate him from the possession. (Chapters 131, 150, 172, 177, and 329–337)
- Puharen: Puharen is Sahyuk's half-brother and Akatrina's legitimate heir, not an alias or alternate form of her. Prihi imprisoned him during her seizure of power. When she later finds him within Morax, Sahyuk acknowledges her guilt, enters his inner mind, and accepts responsibility for the pain between them. (Chapters 342–350 and 360–363)
- Rachel: Under the alias Shin Jahyuk, Sahyuk becomes a Knight Commander of Crevon and serves its royal court. Rachel recognizes that office even after Sahyuk attempts to resign, and the two later operate on the same side during the battles surrounding Baal. (Chapters 215, 246–248, and 340–364)
- Shin Jonghak: Jonghak first opposes Sahyuk strongly enough to counter Magic Weapon Emission with his black flames. Their rivalry develops into repeated training and battlefield cooperation. She eventually uses Reality Manipulation to help him encounter the legacy preserved in Shin Myungchul's mind. (Chapters 262, 293–295, 327–328, and 352)
- Kindspring Winter: Kindspring was Prihi's faithful servant in Plerion. Sahyuk regrets abandoning and imprisoning him and becomes convinced that Hajin or Kim Chundong is connected to him, a belief that motivates her journey into Recorded Past — Akatrina. (Chapters 254–267)
Items
- Continental Fragment: The relic used to enter Recorded Past — Akatrina in Continental Year 555. Its smaller pieces maintain the materialized record and can partially restore Plerion. The fragment is central to Sahyuk's confrontation with Prihi and Kindspring, although the corpus does not establish it as her personal possession. (Chapters 254 and 258–267)
- Black Tower invitation: A genuine invitation to the Tower of Wish that Sahyuk obtains in Pandemonium after destroying several counterfeits. It gives her access to the Tower, where Hajin kills her and forces her to restart from its tutorial. (Chapter 172)
- Cat Bell: Bell obtains this level-six monitoring item for Sahyuk so she can track Hajin's physical condition at any distance. When it turns black during Hajin's brief physical death, Sahyuk reacts with panic and immediately seeks a ticket back to Earth; Hajin subsequently returns through Body Reversal. The bell is therefore Sahyuk's carried monitoring item, supplied by Bell, rather than Bell's retained property. (Chapters 236–237)
