Morgazar
Morgazar, also spelled Mogazar in later chapters, is the Blackrock Clan’s eastern Warlord and specialist Orc Hunter. The two spellings refer to the same bow-wielding commander: the early Morgazar is encountered in the Dungeon of Dominion’s reconstruction, while the later Mogazar is the living Blackrock leader whose history that dungeon reflected.
Biography
Awakening and Leaf Village
Morgazar begins as one of Orobak’s four supporting Warlords and refuses to submit after Barca defeats him, insisting that respect must be earned. Lux answers by arranging a point-blank archery duel between Morgazar and Ishtar. Although Morgazar has superior experience, the dungeon equalizes their ranks; Ishtar surprises him with traps and wins by landing an arrow first. Morgazar accepts the result honorably, becomes Lux’s ally with five hundred Orc Archers, and later supports Barca’s campaign while retaining enough independence to refuse direct participation in the final duel against Orobak. His loyalty changes through acknowledged skill, not coercion. (Chapters 99, 106, 111, 113, 117)
Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars
When Lux meets the true Blackrock Clan, Morgazar’s living counterpart initially joins the other Warlords in setting an almost impossible feat as the price of recognition. War makes that challenge concrete: he detects the Haca army’s approach, tries to destroy its Magic Cannons from a mile away, and uses Starfall Mirage to kill hundreds even though High-Rankers screen the weapons. The counter-bombardment wounds him and kills many subordinates, while later long-range attacks are blocked by Ronan and other defenders. After Lux turns the war, Morgazar accepts membership in Heaven’s Gate; by Chapter 614, Lux expects him to remain with the guild as one of its strongest Blackrock members. (Chapters 579, 592, 597, 599–603, 606, 614)
Appearance and personality
Morgazar is a large Orc whose size belies exceptional agility. He carries a Warbow and can dodge, roll, counterattack, or even use the bow like a melee weapon when an enemy closes the distance. Proud and initially defiant, he nevertheless honors fair defeat and recognizes cleverness, even criticizing the strategic foolishness of his own race. The later “Mogazar” spelling does not signal a namesake or transformation; it is a textual spelling variant attached to the same Orc Hunter role and history. (Chapters 106, 117, 595)
Abilities and skills
Morgazar is a ranged specialist whose arrows are difficult to detect before impact and can remain deadly at fortress-to-army distances. In the dungeon he is a Rank 4 Alpha Beast whose rank is temporarily lowered to Ishtar’s level by duel rules, while his experience remains intact. His later living self uses Starfall Mirage, firing a magical arrow skyward to rain countless rays across a wide area, and has a strongest single-target shot that destroys a cannon after piercing its projectile. His limits are tactical and defensive: close-range improvisation does not prevent Ishtar from outmaneuvering him, massed High-Rankers can block much of Starfall Mirage, and cannon fire can injure him before he completes further attacks. (Chapters 106, 579, 600–603)

- Ishtar — His fellow Hunter and duel opponent. Morgazar respects her skill immediately and accepts alliance after she defeats him under equalized conditions. (Chapter 106)
- Lux — Lux brokers the duel that wins Morgazar’s support and later proves himself to the living Warlords during the Haca war, after which Morgazar joins Heaven’s Gate. (Chapters 106, 592, 606, 614)
- Baronar, Tanabur, and Oreg — His fellow Orc Warlords, with whom he shares the Blackrock Clan’s defense and rough, competitive council culture. (Chapters 113, 117, 595, 599)
