Baronar

Baronar is the Blackrock Clan’s western Warlord and foremost Orc Shaman. First encountered as one of Orobak’s supporters, he survives defeat, accepts Barca’s authority, and decades later becomes Lux’s wary ally, magical predecessor, and battlefield protector.

Biography

Awakening and Leaf Village

Baronar begins as the strongest of the four Warlords whose allegiance sustains Orobak’s rule. Poisoned before his formal duel with Barca, he cannot gather mana normally, loses an arm, and surrenders rather than die; once spared, he recognizes Barca and upholds Orc succession law even when it prevents him from intervening against Orobak. His clear-eyed acceptance of the outcome distinguishes him from the dissatisfied warriors and converts a former enemy into a durable clan ally. (Chapters 99, 102–104, 111, 117)

Decades later, the real Baronar draws Lux through a Spirit World reconstruction of those dungeon events and recognizes that Lux inherited a version of his summoning art. He makes a powerful skill scroll for the younger necromancer, negotiates for an Abyssal Core, and escorts him into the Orc capital. During the Haca war, Baronar joins Heaven’s Gate only after demanding that Lux honor his promise, then protects him with almost a thousand Spirit Warriors under Lady Avyanna’s orders. The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

When Lux later calls for help against a monster army, Baronar and the other Blackrock leaders answer as Dreadnaughts. They prevent higher-ranked beasts from escaping and deliberately collect Beast Cores and monster parts because their clan needs resources to recover from its losses in the Haca war. His behavior is opportunistic, but it is also communal: the same shaman who once fought for personal rank now treats battlefield spoils as material for rebuilding his people. (Chapter 710)

Appearance and personality

Baronar is an Orc Shaman who carries a skull staff and commands from behind summoned warriors. The corpus emphasizes intelligence rather than ornamental detail: he is one of the Orcs who immediately understands Lux’s tricks, respects the race’s strength-based traditions, and can be ruthless or pragmatic as circumstances demand. He is proud of his mastery, amused by the younger version of himself, and pleased that Lux has carried part of his legacy forward. (Chapters 100, 103, 117, 579, 589)

Shamanic magic and abilities

Spirit Warriors and battlefield support

As a Rank 4 Alpha Orc Shaman in the dungeon reconstruction, Baronar can summon two peak-Rank-3 Elite Orc Spirit Warriors. His later self has trained other shamans and can field nearly a thousand such guardians, although he states that none of his students’ personal Spirit Warriors equal his own. The summons let him screen allies and control space, but incapacitating his mana gathering delays the rest of his magic and allows a close-range fighter to break through. (Chapters 100, 103, 589, 610)

Curses, defenses, and magical craft

Baronar’s documented spell set includes Envenom, Fear, Frostfire, Life Drain, Soul Shield, Dim Vision, and Amplify Damage. Frostfire remains usable while poisoned but loses half its power, Soul Shield can be broken by repeated heavy blows, and Envenom fails when Barca’s resistance suppresses its poison. At his later mastery, Baronar inscribes a unique Spirit Warrior evolution into a consumable skill scroll, showing that his expertise extends from casting to teaching and magical craft. Relationships

• Barca: Baronar loses a compromised but formally recognized duel to Barca, accepts his rule, and later serves the Blackrock Clan beside him. (Chapters 102–117, 579–610)
• Lux: Lux chooses to spare Baronar and acquires a version of his summoning skill. The older shaman later treats Lux as a legacy-bearer, trades with him, and protects him in war. (Chapters 103–104, 576–610)
• Lady Avyanna: Baronar serves the later Orc Chieftain and obeys her order to guard Lux during the Haca Dynasty’s assault. (Chapters 597, 607, 610)
