Wang Ying

Wang Ying is one of Zhang Xuan's original students, the second senior among his direct disciples, and the eventual head of the Spirit Awakener Guild. She begins as the shy second young mistress of Tianxuan City's Wang Clan, burdened by a leg injury that has made cultivation painful and left her wary of exerting herself. Zhang Xuan's treatment restores both her mobility and her confidence, and her decision to remain his student despite family pressure becomes the first of many choices in which she values earned trust over rank or reputation. Her path develops from physical recovery into a discipline centered on motion, careful observation, and the awakening of spirits. Wang Ying turns her healed legs into formidable movement and kicking techniques, broadens her combat ability under Zhang Xuan, and then discovers an unprecedented aptitude for spirit enchantment. She leaves him so that she can grow into someone able to protect him, later returns as a guild leader commanding enchanted cities, and ultimately becomes a Conferred God King of the Sky of Linglong without accepting any teacher other than Zhang Xuan. Biography

Trusting the teacher no one else wanted

Wang Ying enters Hongtian Academy as a hesitant new student whose family servant is already trying to withdraw her from Zhang Xuan's class. The academy regards Zhang Xuan as its worst teacher, and even Wang Ying has difficulty voicing her own wishes against an older retainer speaking for her. She is nevertheless responsive to his calm authority. When another teacher offers seemingly expert advice about the weakness in her lower-body movements, Zhang Xuan recognizes that following it would aggravate rather than solve the underlying injury. (Chapters 2–3)

The injury has caused pain for half a year and made Wang Ying fearful of strangers, reticent, and reluctant to place force through her legs. Zhang Xuan uses Zephyr Acupuncture and pure zhenqi to open the blocked pathways, leaving her legs light and mobile for the first time since she was hurt. The cure is not merely a medical turning point. Because he understands a problem that has shaped her daily behavior and treats it without exploiting her vulnerability, Wang Ying kneels to him sincerely and abandons every thought of leaving his tutelage. Her resolve is tested almost immediately by the Wang Clan. Before her father and elders, she is frightened enough to tremble but still insists that none of them has the right to condemn lessons they have never heard. She demonstrates the result of Zhang Xuan's teaching through her recovered leg strength and refuses to withdraw even when threatened with exclusion from her home. The clan's resistance gives way once her improvement becomes undeniable, while Wang Ying's choice establishes a quiet stubbornness that will persist beneath her gentle manner for the rest of the story. Turning a healed leg into a fighting path

Once pain no longer limits her, Wang Ying makes lower-body combat the foundation of her martial identity. Within days she rises from Juxi realm to Dantian realm and executes kicks with the coordination of someone who appears to have practiced leg arts for years. The sudden progress is not only a gift of treatment: she repeatedly drills Zhang Xuan's corrected movements until every turn, hip rotation, and release of force works as a whole. Her former weakness thus becomes the part of her technique that observers find most difficult to believe. (Chapters 195)

During the Teacher Evaluation, Wang Ying faces Du Lei, a student whose Illusory Shadows Nine Celestial Steps should make him almost impossible for a peer to locate. She combines a simplified Heaven's Path Movement Art with her leg technique, catches the genuine body, and sends him flying with a single kick. The victory exposes both her new power and her remaining inexperience. She apologizes because she truly fears she used too much force, then panics when the humiliated opponent attacks again; her kindness and lack of battle exposure have not yet caught up with the speed her teacher has given her. Zhang Xuan continues refining that imbalance. The movement art lets her cross several meters in a fraction of a breath and repeat the burst without the normal pause, while further practice teaches her to act under pressure rather than freeze after a successful strike. By the end of the evaluation, Wang Ying is no longer defined by an infirmity or by her clan's judgment. She has a recognizable fighting style built on sudden acceleration, precise footwork, and decisive kicks, even though the temperament directing those techniques remains unusually softhearted. Growing with the first class

Wang Ying leaves Tianxuan Kingdom with Zhang Xuan and the rest of his first class, advancing through increasingly powerful regions alongside Zhao Ya, Zheng Yang, Liu Yang, and Yuan Tao. Their shared cultivation is collaborative rather than competitive: they exchange techniques, follow Zhang Xuan into dangerous domains, and repeatedly synchronize their strengths against opponents beyond any single student's level. Wang Ying gradually becomes the second senior of a lineage whose members will eventually spread across several professions and worlds. (Chapters 301, 448, 504, 748)

At Hongyuan Master Teacher Academy, that shared training expands into the Xuanxuan Faction. Wang Ying and Liu Yang help transmit Zhang Xuan's simplified cultivation and combat methods instead of hoarding them as private advantages. When Combat Master Hall division heads challenge the faction, Wang Ying invokes her seniority to take the palm-art match, resists her instinct to evade, and defeats the Palm Division head with the newly learned Heavenly Demon Great Sorrow Palm. She then agrees without hesitation to teach the technique to him, reflecting the open instruction at the center of Zhang Xuan's lineage. (Chapters 1,106, 1,136)

This episode marks a decisive change from the girl who recoiled when Du Lei attacked a second time. Wang Ying can now assess an opponent, insist on her place in a fight, and stand her ground while testing an unfamiliar art. She remains candid enough to admit that the palm technique's emotional preparation seems troublesome, but her execution is strong enough to overcome a veteran specialist. Her development is not a replacement of gentleness with aggression; it is the acquisition of confidence that allows her kindness, skill, and judgment to function in conflict. Choosing the Spirit Awakener inheritance

Wang Ying's future changes when the Spirit Awakener Guild brings a Spirit Gauging Stone to Zhang Xuan. Feeling an unexplained intimacy with it, she asks to be tested and produces a result of eleven even though ten is supposed to be the maximum. Elder Wei interprets the result as aptitude on the level of the guild's founder, while Zhang Xuan concludes that Wang Ying's conscientious, meticulous study of the simplified Heaven's Path Divine Art may have transformed potential that was not apparent when he first accepted her. The guild offers resources and a complete inheritance, but Wang Ying does not accept for prestige. She is conflicted because Zhang Xuan can continue guiding her, yet she has watched other disciples leave for paths that let them grow independently. She decides that remaining beside him while consuming his resources would preserve her comfort at his expense. Joining the Spirit Awakener Guild is therefore an act of responsibility: she wants enough power and institutional reach to share his burdens instead of being someone he must continually shelter. Teacher and student both understand the separation as a family parting rather than a transfer of loyalty. Wang Ying makes eight kowtows, Zhang Xuan leaves protective zhenqi in her body, and he promises to cross any distance if the guild mistreats her. She departs in tears with Elder Wei but does so by her own resolved choice. The scene completes an early stage of her growth: the once-indecisive young mistress can now choose a difficult future precisely because the bond she fears leaving has become secure. Returning as guild leader and protector

Wang Ying advances through the Spirit Awakener Guild at a pace surpassing even its founding legends. Within months she clears the Spirit Awakener Tower, gains recognition as the guild's leader, and acquires authority over the accumulated spirit-enchantment power of her predecessors. When the Master Teacher Pavilion orders Zhang Xuan's arrest, she transports enchanted buildings across roughly thirty thousand li to confront the pavilion rather than let an official judgment against her teacher stand unchallenged. (Chapters 1,438, 1,540)

Her intervention is both institutional and personal. Wang Ying animates halls and pavilions into a mobile fighting force, defends Wei Ruyan and the other disciples as members of one senior-junior family, and demands that the officials who targeted Zhang Xuan apologize. When Zhan shi attempts to reach her through the building army, she proves that her strength is not confined to enchantment: she answers with her own palm technique and deploys the Spirit Awakener Guild's inherited Empyrean Puppet. The narration explicitly contrasts this commanding guild head with the naive, powerless girl she once was. (Chapters 1,540–1,544)

She also demonstrates that loyalty does not erase analysis. During the operation surrounding Liu Yang's inauguration as Sovereign Chen Yong, Wang Ying enchants the Otherworldly capital's buildings and walls and prepares a spirit-enhanced tree root capable of reshaping the terrain. After the disguised Liu Yang spars with the group, she is the first to infer his identity from the way he repeatedly exploits their familiar weaknesses. That observation prevents her brother-disciple's apparent hostility from being mistaken for betrayal and shows the same attention to detail that first distinguished her spirit-awakening aptitude. From Ancient Sage to Conferred God King

Wang Ying reaches Ancient Sage and joins the other disciples in advancing to Ancient Sage 4-dan Dimension Shatterer realm before Zhang Xuan leaves for the Azure. Knowing that spirit enchantment requires preparation and may leave her vulnerable to sudden attack, he gives her the Golden Origin Cauldron as a guardian. She later follows the lineage across the dimensional passage and onward to the Firmament, where the world's pressure again leaves the disciples dependent on their teacher for food, shelter, and cultivation resources. That dependence pains Wang Ying because it recalls the motive behind her earlier departure. In a cavern in the Firmament, she alone notices that Zhang Xuan is lying about having eaten so that his injured students can keep the scarce fruit. She offers him her half and hides her tears after he refuses. Soon afterward, on the Celestial Mountain, she overcomes the manifestation of a snowy ancient tree and receives a superior Aura of Divinity, proving eligible for conferment before Fairy Linglong takes her and Wei Ruyan to the Sky of Linglong. Fairy Linglong eventually names Wang Ying and Wei Ruyan Conferred God Kings. Both women first establish that conferment will not require blind obedience, and when the monarch offers to take them as disciples, they refuse even at the price of returning their cultivation: Zhang Xuan is the only teacher they will recognize. Wang Ying later reunites with him in the Flooding Sea as one of ten disciples who arrive behind Zhao Ya, kneel together, and reveal that the humble God King before the veteran experts trained the Firmament's strongest new Conferred God Kings. At her latest direct appearance, she is alive, reunited with her lineage, and still defines her immense rank through the teacher-student bond that began in Hongtian Academy. Appearance and personality

Wang Ying is introduced as a young, refined clan daughter whose face reddens easily and whose movements initially betray hesitation. Her injured legs do not prevent ordinary walking, but chronic pain makes her guarded about lower-body exertion and contributes to a fearful, reticent manner. After treatment, observers instead notice the startling ease, speed, and coordination of her movements. Later depictions emphasize the composed bearing of a guild leader rather than giving her a radically altered physical identity. (Chapters 2–3, 21, 195, 1,540–1,544)

Gentleness remains her most visible trait. She apologizes sincerely to defeated opponents, is easily moved by her teacher's sacrifices, and treats the other direct disciples as family. Yet gentleness should not be confused with weakness: even while afraid of her father, she refuses to leave Zhang Xuan; as a guild head, she commands buildings against the Master Teacher Pavilion; and as a Conferred God King, she is prepared to surrender her cultivation rather than let Fairy Linglong belittle the teacher she has chosen. Wang Ying is also meticulous and perceptive. She learns corrected movements through repeated practice, notices the attraction of the Spirit Gauging Stone before anyone suspects her talent, detects Liu Yang beneath a hostile disguise from subtle flaws in his attacks, and realizes that Zhang Xuan has given away his own food when the rest of the group does not. Her development gives these traits confidence and reach: the hesitant girl becomes able to state her judgment, direct powerful institutions, and resist a God Monarch without losing the empathy that first made her responsive to a sincere teacher. Abilities and cultivation

Movement and leg techniques

Wang Ying's earliest specialty is a direct answer to her original injury. Once Zhang Xuan clears the blocked pathways in her legs, he teaches her corrected lower-body force, a powerful leg art, and a simplified version of the Heaven's Path Movement Art. The movement method can carry her several meters in a fraction of a breath and, unlike many burst techniques, can be repeated without an extended recovery. Combined with her kick speed and coordination, it lets her intercept opponents who rely on afterimages and end a match before they can exploit her relative lack of experience. Her mobility remains a preferred strategy, but it is not an absolute defense. Early on she can identify and strike Du Lei yet loses composure when he attacks again, showing that physical speed cannot substitute for battle judgment. Training with the first class gradually closes this weakness. By Qingyuan she is confident enough to remain rooted against a palm specialist rather than evade, proving that her footwork has become one option inside a broader combat system rather than a reflex she cannot depart from. Heaven's Path battle arts

Like the other direct disciples, Wang Ying cultivates simplified techniques compiled and corrected by Zhang Xuan. Her early path emphasizes movement and kicks, but the class exchanges knowledge so freely that she develops proficiency in fist, palm, defense, and other combat disciplines. She can execute the Heavenly Demon Great Sorrow Palm strongly enough to defeat the Combat Master Hall's Palm Division head on its first real trial, even though its need for accumulated emotion makes it less natural for her than the direct precision of her leg techniques. These arts provide the personal fighting ability needed when enchantment is too slow or an opponent bypasses her animated forces. As the Spirit Awakener Guild's leader, she can confront a high-level combatant with her own palm before calling on inherited guild power. Her strength ultimately rises with the rest of the lineage through Ancient Sage, Dimension Shatterer, godhood, and Conferred God King realm, but the corpus continues to distinguish her fighting style by its exact movement, broad technical foundation, and preference for using control intelligently rather than trading attacks blindly. Spirit enchantment

Spirit enchantment allows Wang Ying to awaken intelligence and motion in objects, structures, and specially prepared materials. Her recorded aptitude of eleven exceeds the Spirit Gauging Stone's normal scale and is compared with the guild founder's. Under the guild's inheritance she progresses from an untested affinity to clearing the Spirit Awakener Tower, becoming guild leader, and commanding large numbers of awakened structures across extraordinary distances. She can turn halls, walls, and entire sections of a city into coordinated weapons or obstacles, allowing the environment itself to fight on her behalf. (Chapters 1,138, 1,438, 1,540–1,544, 1,848)

The craft's scale is balanced by preparation time. Buildings and materials must be enchanted beforehand, which makes Wang Ying formidable in a prepared city but vulnerable to sudden close combat; Zhang Xuan explicitly cites that limit when giving her the Golden Origin Cauldron as protection. She compensates through planning, personal battle arts, and inherited supports such as the Empyrean Puppet and the terrain-changing root she buries beneath the Otherworldly capital. Cultivation and latest state

Wang Ying begins at Juxi realm and advances rapidly once her injury is removed, reaching Dantian realm within the first stage of Zhang Xuan's instruction. Continued cultivation of simplified Heaven's Path techniques carries her through the Master Teacher Continent's higher realms. By the Otherworldly capital operation she is a recent Ancient Sage, and before the ascent to the Azure she reaches Ancient Sage 4-dan Dimension Shatterer realm with the other direct disciples. In the Firmament, Wang Ying gains a superior Aura of Divinity from the snowy ancient tree on the Celestial Mountain and attracts Fairy Linglong's attention. The monarch's resources raise both Wang Ying and Wei Ruyan to God King realm pinnacle before she formally confers them as God Kings of the Sky of Linglong. At her latest appearance, Wang Ying is one of the lineage's strongest new Conferred God Kings, with her spirit-enchantment inheritance and combat foundation intact and her allegiance still centered on Zhang Xuan. Zhang Xuan

Zhang Xuan is Wang Ying's healer, teacher, and chosen family. By curing the injury that other guidance would have worsened, he earns a trust strong enough for her to oppose the Wang Clan while she is still timid. He later lets her decide whether to join the Spirit Awakener Guild, promises protection without demanding that she remain dependent, and continues sacrificing resources for the disciples after they cross worlds. Wang Ying answers by building her own power to support him and by refusing Fairy Linglong's invitation to replace him as her teacher, even when her Conferred God King cultivation appears to depend on the monarch's favor. The direct disciples

Wang Ying's closest peer relationships grow from Zhang Xuan's original class. Zhao Ya is her first senior, while Zheng Yang, Liu Yang, and Yuan Tao begin as the other students learning beside her in Tianxuan. Later arrivals such as Lu Chong and Wei Ruyan expand that group into a cross-professional lineage. Wang Ying teaches and spars with them, defends their reputations as matters of family honor, and is perceptive enough to recognize Liu Yang even when his identity as Sovereign Chen Yong is hidden. The Spirit Awakener Guild and Fairy Linglong

The Spirit Awakener Guild gives Wang Ying the specialized inheritance and resources she chooses in order to become independently useful. Elder Wei identifies her extraordinary aptitude, escorts her to headquarters, and helps position her as the guild's successor; Wang Ying repays that confidence by clearing its trials and wielding its collective strength as leader. The institution becomes her professional home, but it never replaces her original lineage or controls her moral decisions. (Chapters 1,138–1,139, 1,438, 1,540–1,544)

Fairy Linglong later becomes Wang Ying's God Monarch patron rather than her teacher. Wang Ying and Wei Ruyan accept cultivation and formal conferment only after establishing that they will not owe blind obedience, then reject the monarch's attempt to claim their discipleship. Fairy Linglong is frustrated but ultimately respects their position and agrees to help locate and protect Zhang Xuan. Their relationship therefore rests on negotiated allegiance: Wang Ying serves as a Conferred God King of the Sky of Linglong while preserving the teacher-student identity she considers permanent.
