Xiao Lingxi is Yun Che's younger adoptive aunt and the person who shares the deepest part of his childhood. Raised beside him in Floating Cloud City, she remains his emotional home through exile, apparent death, and war. Her later connection to the Ancestral Goddess explains both her unusual bond with Yun Che and her ability to read the World-Defying Heaven Manual.

Biography

Rebirth and Blue Wind beginnings

Lingxi grows up as Xiao Lie's daughter and Yun Che's constant companion, although she is only a little older than him. She helps prepare his wedding room, brings him food, and meets him in the rear mountain when neither can sleep. Their teasing familiarity conceals feelings that the clan's family roles do not let either state openly. When Xiao Kuangyun's party arrives, conspirators plant the Profound Opening Powder in her courtyard and use the accusation to imprison both Lingxi and her father. (Chapters 2–3, 12, and 24–33)

Yun Che exposes the mechanics of the false search but lacks the standing to overturn the punishment. He leaves the Xiao Clan after publicly protecting Lingxi from Xiao Kuangyun, carrying the promise that he will return strong enough to free her. Lingxi is therefore both the first person his second life cannot bear to lose and the clearest measure of why power matters to him: not as rank by itself, but as the means to keep a family from being disposed of by stronger people. Blue Wind conflict and Divine Phoenix

Years later, Yun Che returns to Floating Cloud City and releases Lingxi and Xiao Lie from their confinement. The reunion does not erase the cost of their separation. Lingxi finds that the boy she knew now carries enemies, obligations, and relationships across the empire, while Yun Che struggles to restore ordinary intimacy after building his identity around survival. She nevertheless accepts his changed life and becomes one of the family members he brings under the protection of the rebuilt Xiao household. (Chapters 281 and 325–343)

The Burning Heaven crisis turns her into a hostage again when Fen Juechen and the sect's survivors strike at Yun Che through Floating Cloud City. Lingxi refuses to treat her own danger as a reason for Yun Che to abandon others, and the episode strengthens the mixture of affection and fear with which she watches his retaliation. His apparent death after the Primordial Profound Ark later leaves her grieving without closure, fixing the pattern of separation that shadows their relationship. (Chapters 354–395)

Illusory Demon Realm and return

During Yun Che's absence in the Illusory Demon Realm, Lingxi remains with Xiao Lie and the restored family. She becomes close to Number Seven Under Heaven and Xiao Yun when the two worlds' households finally meet, accepting Yun Che's biological relatives without seeing them as replacements for the family that raised him. Her happiness at his return is tempered by how easily his journeys again carry him beyond her reach. (Chapters 610–611, 657–690, and 896)

The Golden Crow's warning that Yun Che must leave Blue Pole Star for the God Realm forces another long parting. Lingxi cannot follow his cultivation path, yet she supports his departure because remaining would endanger his life. The choice shows the central tension in her development: she wants an ordinary future beside him, but repeatedly puts his survival ahead of her own wish to keep him close. (Chapters 917–944)

Waiting through the God Realm years

Lingxi stays on Blue Pole Star while Yun Che enters the Snow Song Realm and the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm. News of his achievements reaches home only indirectly, leaving her with neither the knowledge nor power to intervene. She anchors Xiao Lie's household and lives among Yun Che's other loved ones, particularly Yun Wuxin, while his years of cultivation and conflict compress into a much shorter span for those waiting outside the Eternal Heaven Pearl. Her role in this period is defined less by public action than by continuity. The home Yun Che imagines returning to persists because Lingxi preserves the relationships of Floating Cloud City rather than competing for precedence within them. That patience is not passive ignorance: she recognizes how far his responsibilities have expanded and continues to judge his absences through the promise that he will come back alive. Destruction, hidden survival, and return

When Yun Che briefly returns from the God Realm, Lingxi sees the exhaustion beneath his celebrated strength and shares the fragile peace he has wanted since childhood. That peace ends when the Moon God Realm appears to destroy Blue Pole Star. Yun Che believes Lingxi, Xiao Lie, and everyone else on the planet have died, and their apparent loss becomes a decisive cause of his collapse and vengeance. In reality, Shui Meiyin uses the World Piercer to exchange Blue Pole Star with another planet before the attack. (Chapters 1372–1407 and 1491–1501)

Lingxi and the surviving world remain concealed while Yun Che conquers the Northern Divine Region and wages war against the Eastern and Western Divine Regions. Their reunion after the truth is revealed restores the family he thought annihilated. For Lingxi, it also exposes the scale of what his grief made him become; she receives him without denying that suffering, giving the new emperor a place where he can again be Little Che rather than a sovereign feared across the realms. The Ancestral Goddess connection

Lingxi's apparently ordinary life contains an exception no cultivation level can explain: she can comprehend the divine text of the World-Defying Heaven Manual. The revelation identifies her soul with a reincarnated aspect of the Ancestral Goddess and connects her to Li Suo's memories and the origin of Yun Che's fate. Her closeness to him is thus both a freely lived human bond and part of a design extending beyond the present universe. (Chapters 1929–1931)

This truth does not erase Xiao Lingxi in favor of a remote divinity. She continues to understand herself through Xiao Lie, Floating Cloud City, and the years spent beside Yun Che. The cosmic identity instead reframes the intuition and affinity she has always shown, while leaving the emotional force of her choices in the mortal life intact. By the later Abyss-era disclosures, she remains on Blue Pole Star as one of the people whose safety and judgment define what Yun Che hopes to protect. (Chapters 1931 and 1966)

Appearance and personality

Lingxi is introduced as a petite young woman with delicate features, long dark hair, and bright, expressive eyes. Early descriptions emphasize her light-yellow dress and a freshness suited to Floating Cloud City's sheltered Xiao household. Later years mature her appearance without changing the softness by which Yun Che instantly recognizes her. (Chapters 2, 12, and 325)

She is affectionate, candid, and easily flustered by Yun Che's teasing, yet she is not emotionally weak. Imprisonment, bereavement, and repeated separation teach her endurance without making her calculating. She values family more than status and is unusually willing to accept the expanding web of Yun Che's relatives and companions, provided he does not use duty as an excuse to disappear without returning. Abilities and cultivation

Lingxi practices the Xiao Clan's basic profound arts and gains a longer lifespan and protection through the resources Yun Che brings home, but she is never developed as a front-line cultivator on the scale of the God Realm's experts. Her narrative importance does not rest on martial rank. During crises, stronger relatives shelter her, and her influence on Yun Che is personal rather than coercive. Her singular ability is comprehension of the World-Defying Heaven Manual's divine script. This aptitude is not the product of ordinary study or a conventional profound inheritance; it arises from her soul's connection to the Ancestral Goddess.
