Number Seven Under Heaven is the youngest child of Greatest Ambition Under Heaven, a princess of the elven Under Heaven Family, and Xiao Yun’s wife.

Biography

Choosing Xiao Yun

Number Seven meets Yun Che while traveling with her brothers and is embarrassed by the literal name her father gave her. Her relationship with Xiao Yun crosses the boundary between a Guardian Family princess and a young man then believed to lack comparable status. She refuses to abandon him when Duke Huai’s faction and family pressure make that choice dangerous, and the revelation of Xiao Yun’s Yun Family birth removes the political objection without changing the loyalty she already demonstrated. She marries Xiao Yun, becomes part of the restored Yun household, and raises their children through the years Yun Che is absent. At Yun Che’s imperial homecoming she introduces her young daughter Yongning to the uncle known through family stories, confirming that the once-contested marriage has become an ordinary and secure part of the two families. Appearance and personality

She is a young elf woman whose pointed ears mark the Under Heaven bloodline. Lively and quick to embarrassment, she is nevertheless resolute under danger and refuses to treat affection as subordinate to rank. (Chapters 495–531)
