Tuoba Chongyuan

Tuoba Chongyuan is a direct descendant of Shengle Heaven’s Tuoba Family who overwhelms the defenders of Baixiang Valley, but meets a dragon-clan enemy while retrieving his stolen spear.

Biography

The assault on Baixiang Valley

Chongyuan attacks Baixiang Valley with confidence in his family’s inherited arts and treasures. He dismisses the defenders’ first spells, kills one of Yu Yuwei’s disciples and encloses the survivors with his great seal. Although he argues that treating every encounter as a struggle for survival is necessary outside Shengle Heaven, he also uses their desperate resistance to hone his spear technique. That indulgence gives the defenders time to coordinate: Yu Yuwei breaks his perception technique, and Li Xizhi steals his spear. (Chapters 769–772)

He escapes their restraint by biting apart Yu Yuwei’s hidden attack and gravely wounding Quan Yi, who dies in the battle. Xizhi and Yuwei break through the barrier, and Chongyuan pursues Xizhi. Li Quantao’s intervention delays him, while upheaval in the surrounding spiritual currents gives the two fugitives a chance to escape. Realizing that the chase has delayed his family’s main objective, Chongyuan abandons it and returns for his spear. There he finds Dongfang Heyun, who openly declares his intention to kill a member of the Tuoba Family. (Chapters 773 and 776–777)

Chongyuan’s robe and physical body are shattered and his life-bound seal is taken. An initial report credits the attack to the Dragon Son Dingyuan, but later discussion identifies Heyun as the one who shattered him. A Shengle Heaven cultivator arrives too late to save him, preserving only a wisp of soul that has lost more than half its essence; even if it reincarnates, it may no longer be Chongyuan. His defeat removes an immediate threat to the southern defenders and enables a counterattack on Baixiang Valley. (Chapters 782, 785, 797 and 986)

Appearance and personality

He wears white robes and moves with an ape-like agility. Confidence in his lineage makes him disdainful of weaker opponents, but his desire to improve through battle coexists with concern for survival and his family’s objectives. (Chapters 769–771 and 777)

Abilities and cultivation

Chongyuan cultivates Boundless Essence, distinct from the southern Purple Mansion Golden Core Dao. His inherited footwork makes coordinated spells difficult to land, while Yu Yuwei’s attack on his eyes breaks his perception technique and lets Xizhi’s illusions mislead him. His Sand-Swallowing Sword Nourishment turns a slain cultivator’s remains into golden leaves. He relies heavily on artifacts: his robe’s sleeve weakens spells, the great seal restrains opponents and reinforces him, and jade tablets counter Yuwei’s cauldron. Losing his spear reduces his advantage against Quantao’s Water Wall Pearl. (Chapters 770–773 and 776–777)
