Shilou Yingge
Shilou Yingge is a Gao-family Daoist Master bearing the Shilou surname, who joins the northern campaign to distance his family from Wei’s Li. His careful appraisal of Bright Yang’s strength does not prevent a costly confrontation with Zhouwei.
Biography
A southern campaign and defeat
Yingge arrives south alongside Murong Yan, with whom he shares old ties and sharp banter. He refuses to let provocation force him into recklessness, warning that Bright Yang grows especially dangerous once it reaches great accomplishment. When Murong tests Zhouwei, Yingge holds the line against possible intervention and then acknowledges that his companion underestimated the opponent. His purpose is political as much as martial: he wants to shed the label linking the Gao Family to Wei’s Li, while avoiding needless risk. (Chapters 1502–1505 and 1526)
During the broader northern campaign, he uses True Fire against Ning Wan and Zhusheng, declining to assist Daisi because the Gao Family’s grievance against the Emptiness Dao remains real. The arrival of a greater threat forces Yingge and Murong to flee. Later, with Wanlin Heaven about to open, Yingge openly attacks Ximing to declare his stance before the assembled Daoist Masters. Zhouwei intervenes, and Yingge promises to settle their conflict inside the grotto, where extraordinary treasures make the danger worth accepting. (Chapters 1528–1531 and 1566–1569)
Inside Wanlin Heaven, his True Fire transformations and four swords fiercely contest Zhouwei’s halberd. Gao Fu’s protective Crimson Wood Radiant Feather repeatedly saves him, while a jade bowl nourishes his damaged dharma body. Zhouwei nevertheless seizes his swords and exploits the interruption of his divine ability, then renews the attack with the Dry Yang Bangles even when the Xiangli brothers intervene. Yingge leaves the devastated battlefield badly injured and later abandons the southern campaign altogether, returning directly to Qi. (Chapters 1588–1591 and 1657)
Appearance and personality
He wears golden or gold-and-crimson robes, with bronze skin that shines like jade and glazed crystal beneath them. True Fire transforms his eyes crimson and surrounds him with an imposing radiance. He is proud but calculating, capable of restraint and wary of accepting risk merely to answer a taunt. (Chapters 1502, 1528 and 1590)
Abilities and cultivation
Yingge cultivates True Fire at mid Purple Mansion. His Radiant Pheasant March produces many fiery phantoms and lets him emerge from flames while closely joining spell arts to divine ability. His radiance combines sensory bewilderment with light and baleful force. Four crimson profound-patterned swords and a mountain-sized True Fire seal support his attacks. These methods impose real costs: escaping Zhouwei’s restraint interrupts his circulation, and repeated attacks leave his dharma body cracked and his divine ability difficult to restore. The jade bowl can nourish his body without immediately renewing the exhausted march technique. (Chapters 1566, 1589–1590)
