Daisi
Biography
A Maha directing the northern campaign
Daisi entered the conflict as an Emptiness Dao Maha who could not act openly, so he armed and directed Master Monks through the Kongsijiang Demon Bowl, hoping to shape a Merciful One under his command. He later challenged Daoist Master Kuiqi and joined the campaign against the Li family; Li Ximing recognized him as part of the blood feud between their families. The standoff around Mount Xiaoshi showed the limits of his position: when Ling Mei used Li Ximing as bait, she wounded Daisi with a single sword strike while he held the Three Retributions World Entering Lotus, forcing him to retreat. (Chapters 882, 1337, 1344, 1351–1352)
Defeat and escape as a remnant spirit
Daisi later fought Li Zhouwei while seeking the treasures the younger cultivator had gained. His Kongsijiang Demon Bowl could contain water and fire, but Li Zhouwei’s Dry Yang Bangles struck it from his grasp. Li Zhouwei then shattered Daisi’s Third Incarnation dharma body. Daisi’s Secret Technique of Boundless Delusion Rebirth kept his consciousness and true spirit within the ruined remains; recognizing that his fellow Buddhists would not preserve them for his rebirth, he abandoned that plan and escaped to the Buddhist land as a remnant true spirit. (Chapters 1621, 1699, 1702–1704)
Appearance and personality
Daisi has a horse-like head, a broad smile, and large buck teeth; other cultivators describe his appearance as grotesque. He is guarded and survival-minded, and his final choice to flee rather than detonate his ruined body reflects that caution. (Chapters 1337, 1344, 1704)
Abilities and cultivation
Emptiness Dao and the Kongsijiang Demon Bowl
Daisi was a Maha of two incarnations when first confronted by Zipei. He had refined the purple Kongsijiang Demon Bowl over many years, beginning before his conversion to Buddhism; it could contain elemental substances such as water and fire. He used it to support the northern campaign and later wielded it against Li Zhouwei, but the Dry Yang Bangles struck it away during their battle. (Chapters 882, 1621–1622, 1702)
Boundless Delusion Rebirth
This Emptiness Dao life-preserving art kept Daisi’s spiritual sense and true spirit inside his ruined body, with the intended possibility of rebirth from his remains. It did not save the body itself: after Li Zhouwei shattered his Third Incarnation, Daisi used the technique to escape to the Buddhist land rather than risk being abandoned by his allies. (Chapters 1703–1704)
