Fenrir
Fenrir is the Wolf Beast God sealed within Michael Fang from birth and expressed through the Fenrir bloodline's canine Curse. He is not Cleave Fenrir, the human ancestor and Tierless Heroic Summon whom Michael met at the beginning of the novel. Cleave bears the bloodline name, uses the Wicked Spear Arts, and was once a possible vessel for the Beast God; Fenrir is the ancient divine wolf whose Curse amplifies Extraction. The narrative separates them explicitly when Fenrir discusses Cleave as another person and declares that he knows the bloodline's canine Curse-bearers because he himself is Fenrir.
Biography
Arx, the Sacred Desert, and Bloodline Revelations
The Beast God's first direct role must be separated from the older man's image Michael follows in the Sacred Desert. Michael draws on Cleave Fenrir's memories, visualizes that human spear fighter's movements, and inherits his mastery of the Wicked Spear Arts. The unnamed Curse inside Michael is a different participant. It initially tries to restrict the technique, and Michael threatens to exorcise it if it continues interfering. Cleave supplies the martial precedent; the being later identified as Fenrir determines whether Michael's cursed body will support or resist that precedent. (Chapter 760)
Fenrir chooses cooperation because his existence is fused to Michael's soul and cannot survive the vessel's destruction. He accepts Michael's refusal to surrender bodily control, infuses golden force into the Wicked Spear Arts, amplifies the volatile emotions powering it, and helps keep mind and soul from tearing under the combined strain. The decision does not make him obedient: it is a practical peace offering between two wills trapped together. By aiding rather than possessing Michael, the silent Curse helps create the opening needed against the Undead Pharaoh and begins changing their relationship from attempted domination to mutual survival. (Chapter 760)
The Nest and the Supreme Human Alliance
Fenrir manifests more clearly against the Undead Pharaoh as an enormous Extraction Wolf Head. His jaws devour the Pharaoh's curse power, his Cursed Extraction heads attack the Staff of Epos, and the influx cracks the restraints on every Cursed Seal. When the Wicked Spear Arts leaves Michael's feelings dangerously intensified, Fenrir consumes part of that emotional excess so the aftereffects do not destroy his sanity. Michael remains suspicious because the Curse once tried to take his body, but he recognizes that this intervention is more than appetite: Fenrir is adapting his own influence to keep the vessel functional after battle. (Chapters 761–777)
The Nest's Origin Sap and Seal Fusion process reorganizes their struggle for control. Fenrir uses the true potential of Extraction to cleanse Michael and tries to open thousands of seal-links, while Michael uses his ascension insight to decide which Cursed Seals receive power. The seals form a constellation and Major Seal, enabling controlled Curse Transformation and Curse Fusion rather than uncontrolled possession. Fenrir resists granting body parts at first, but Jormungandr pressures him into cooperation; their incompatible manifestations are eventually assigned to different regions, giving Michael wolf claws, altered eyes, greater reserves, and an Extraction-centered half of the fused form. (Chapters 783–834)
By the war against the Blaze household, Michael can use fifty-one Cursed Seals while still treating Fenrir as an ally with unknown intentions. Fenrir influences his aggression, reinforces Extraction, and helps turn absorbed energy into continued combat power. The confrontation with Beelzebub unsettles him enough that the formerly silent wolf begins speaking openly, while Sylth recognizes Michael as the first Fenrir-bloodline descendant in eons to unseal Fenrir himself. The external recognition clarifies that the Curse is not a generic wolf and sets up the later personal-name revelation, without making the human Cleave and the Beast God one identity. (Chapters 845–900)
Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War
Fenrir's first named exchanges show a proud Beast God becoming unexpectedly talkative after meeting Beelzebub. He praises Michael's destruction, offers to create a Perfect Soul Technique for Extraction, and pushes him to grow fast enough to threaten the Supreme Human Alliance. When Jormungandr finally uses Fenrir's name, Fenrir explains that Cleave was a mighty but separate human whom the Will might have chosen as his vessel. He also says that he knows every descendant who awakens a canine Curse in the Fenrir bloodline. This testimony resolves the shared-name confusion: Cleave carried the lineage; the wolf is the god behind its rare true Curse. (Chapters 902–913)
Fenrir's feud with the Supreme Human Alliance turns that personal history into action. He helps analyze Blood Incursion, argues that Beast God Curses regenerate from surviving curse power, and supports the dangerous reconstruction of Kaleb and Zeke rather than abandoning corrupted victims. In the Temple of the Forgotten, regression seals almost all his power, yet Michael's connection persists through a single Cursed Seal. As the trial restores energy, Fenrir's technique accelerates Rune Vortex through Extraction, his voice returns, and recovered seals again permit Curse Fusion. The temporary loss demonstrates that their bond can be suppressed without being erased. (Chapters 913–924)
Fenrir's Essence becomes increasingly integrated with Extraction. Michael acknowledges that adding more Essence will inevitably give him part of the Beast God's higher power, and the growing Wolf Divinity forms inside Extraction's Soultrait Symbol. Once it blossoms, Fenrir can channel divine Extraction through Michael, drain the Essence of stronger beings, and support wars against the Alliance's Demi-Gods. Fenrir is the source and teacher, while Michael remains the acting vessel whose Soultraits, Soul Power, and tactical combinations determine how that force reaches the battlefield. Their shared Divinity does not turn either consciousness into the other. (Chapters 935, 978–995)
God Wars and the Primal Conflict
Fenrir explains why Pure Aether matters in divine war: unlike ordinary energy, it can injure Essence and therefore harm both Gods and Primals at their foundation. In combat, his Wolf Divinity extracts heat, attacks, energy, and divine Essence, while Curse Fusion reproduces his claws, predatory eyes, and physical pressure through Michael. He is aggressive enough to tease Jormungandr about whose powers enemies covet, but his confidence is not empty. The Primals remember that Fenrir once hurt them at full power, making the sealed wolf one of the ancient threats they never wanted restored. (Chapters 1004–1012)
Against Primal Xerx, Fenrir manifests through Michael and tries to swallow the enemy whole, draining Essence even when the Primal blasts him away. The coalition cannot win directly, but the siblings buy the time and knowledge Michael needs to survive and later inherit the Origin Expanse. The Will then reveals that Fenrir was inside Michael from birth and that the Curse's physical body was preserved within its Essence, not destroyed. Michael uses his new authority to break the curse form without forcing Fenrir to cripple that body, ending an imprisonment that had lasted since before Michael's life began. (Chapters 1055–1077)
Fenrir returns in Chapter 1078 as a cosmic-scale black wolf and reacts to freedom with the exuberance of a puppy, racing through planetary systems before joining the planned final confrontation. He refuses to hide from the Primal, fights with Extraction-coated claws, changes size to evade attacks, and helps his siblings drain a Primal's Essence. The enemy still pierces him and nearly destroys an eye, proving restoration is not invulnerability. After Michael saves rather than exterminates the Primals, Fenrir stays with the wounded victor, asks what he will do next, and treats him as a friend whose life matters beyond war. (Chapters 1078–1093)
Appearance and personality
Fenrir's restored body is an immense wolf large enough to darken a sky when he passes. His rough black fur carries streaks of silver like lightning, his muscular legs end in claws that gouge the fabric of the void, and his enormous mouth contains jagged teeth compared to mountains. His eyes glow deep red with intellect, fury, and watchfulness. The description associates him with the legend of swallowing the sky. He can later compress himself to roughly horse size for evasive combat, so his cosmic scale is natural but not tactically fixed. (Chapters 1078, 1088)
Within Michael, Fenrir first appears indirectly as golden Cursed Seals, canine-shaped Extraction tendrils, and an enormous Wolf Head. Curse Transformation adds predatory eyes, claws, fangs, longer hair, and other wolf traits to Michael rather than reproducing Fenrir's full body. These manifestations should not be confused with Cleave Fenrir's human appearance of long black hair, dark eyes, leather armor, and a spear. That is the Heroic Summon's body; the Beast God is consistently lupine when his own form is shown. (Chapters 760–765, 789–834, 1078)
Fenrir is proud, territorial, impatient, and hungry for both power and combat. He initially tries to overwhelm Michael, dislikes losing control of his Seals, and becomes excited when a direct fight with the Primals is possible. The silent growls of his early period conceal a sharp tongue: after Beelzebub shocks him into speaking, he boasts about his influence, mocks enemies, quarrels with Jormungandr, and repeatedly demands action. His restored freedom makes the ancient terror look almost juvenile as he bounds through unfamiliar galaxies with open delight. (Chapters 763–790, 883–913, 1076–1079)
His aggression coexists with a practical loyalty that grows into affection. Fenrir prevents Michael from losing his sanity, shares Essence even when it tightens their bond, helps restore friends damaged by Blood Incursion, and remains after the final war. He can be manipulative—Michael later recognizes that all three God Curses used him to achieve freedom and revenge—but the relationship is not reducible to exploitation. Fenrir risks himself against the Primals after release and worries about Michael's purpose when there is no longer an enemy forcing him forward. (Chapters 760–777, 913–919, 1055–1093)
Wolf Beast God Curse and Extraction powers
Beast God Curse and the Fenrir bloodline
Fenrir is an ancient Beast God whose preserved body and Essence were sealed into a Curse. The Will's system places fractions of sealed divine Essence into suitable bloodlines so Cursed Children adapt from the womb before their seals open. Michael is born with Fenrir already inside him, making their bond older and closer than Michael's later links with Jormungandr and Hel. Fenrir says he can recognize every descendant who awakens a canine Curse, while most Fenrir relatives receive feline or otherwise weaker variants rather than the Wolf Beast God himself. (Chapters 782, 900, 913, 1072–1077)
Cleave Fenrir belongs to that bloodline but is not the Beast God. He is Michael's human ancestor, a Curse User with an eight-star Soultrait in life, a practitioner of the Wicked Spear Arts, and later a seven-star Heroic Summon reset to Tierless status. Fenrir says the Will would have selected him as the wolf's vessel under different circumstances, but Cleave's own recklessness and martial art killed him first. The family name and possible vessel relationship explain the overlap without transferring Cleave's spear skill, human biography, or Summon progression to the divine wolf. (Chapters 10–15, 760, 913, 1072–1073)
God Curses are difficult to eliminate permanently. Fenrir explains that surviving curse power can reform in the void, after which the Will places the restored Curse into another suitable vessel. The Supreme Human Alliance exploits this cycle by allowing Curse Users to drain part of their Curse's power before killing them, repeatedly delaying the Beast God's return to full strength. Michael's exceptional survival and growth interrupt that pattern. The endpoint restores Fenrir's intact body from his Curse Essence rather than creating a new wolf or reincarnating Cleave Fenrir. (Chapters 913, 990, 1077–1078)
Cursed Seals, Major Seal, and control
Fenrir's individual Cursed Seals release portions of his curse power and strengthen Extraction. Early seals manifest as golden or crimson-gold marks linked by thousands of miniature chains; opening more increases physical pressure, Soultrait potency, emotional influence, and Fenrir's access to Michael. Curse power consumed from other entities nourishes all seals, which makes uncontrolled feeding dangerous. Before Higher Ascension, activating more than five threatens to kill Michael, and Fenrir's attempt to crack every restraint at once creates a genuine struggle over whether growth will serve the vessel or free the Curse. (Chapters 760–778)
Origin Sap, Seal Fusion, and Higher Ascension organize the seals into a constellation around a Major Seal. Michael gains the ability to select which restraints receive energy, temporarily denying Fenrir unilateral control, while Fenrir gains safer access to more Essence and power. By later battles Michael can activate fifty-one Cursed Seals, and the Major Seal branches further as their bond deepens. Neither fully subdues the other. Control becomes a negotiated system in which Michael chooses activation while Fenrir can still resist, advise, or add Essence when shared danger justifies it. (Chapters 785–790, 832–834, 882, 923–924)
Extraction and the Wolf Divinity
Fenrir is tightly connected to Michael's Extraction Soultrait. Cursed Seals amplify its aura and tendrils, while Fenrir can invoke a higher natural potency than Michael initially understands. The Extraction Wolf Head bites through enemies and devours curse power; Cursed Extraction tendrils form canine mouths that drain energy and Artifacts. As the relationship matures, Fenrir's Essence enables True Extraction Essence capable of invading stronger bodies, stripping energy and lifeforce, and damaging divine Essence. The Beast God's power and Michael's Soultrait work as a coupled system rather than two unrelated attacks. (Chapters 761–765, 782–786, 834–880)
Michael later infers that the Will subtly modified the Fenrir-linked power expressed as Extraction, allowing it to remove Soultraits—something Fenrir had never done as a God. The Will confirms manipulating Curse systems and Michael's starting conditions but does not plainly verify every detail of that specific inference. Soultrait extraction should therefore be attributed publicly to Michael's Extraction, enhanced by Fenrir, rather than treated as a demonstrated innate feat Fenrir possessed before sealing. The distinction matters because Fenrir regarded Soultrait Symbols as beneath a God and had no reason to test that function in his original life. (Chapters 1072–1073)
Fenrir's Wolf Divinity forms inside the Extraction Symbol as Michael reaches divine development. It lets divine Extraction operate on Essence, enabling Michael to consume attacks, drain Primals, empower motion, and fight Demi-Gods beyond his nominal level. Even after Fenrir regains his own body, Michael retains the Wolf Divinity, while Fenrir coats his natural claws with Extraction and expels hostile Essence from his own wounds. This persistence shows that their long union leaves Michael with a divine channel without depriving Fenrir of his original Extraction power. (Chapters 978–995, 1055–1079, 1083–1088)
Wolf Head, Curse Transformation, and Curse Fusion
The Wolf Head is Fenrir's most recognizable early manifestation. It expands from the Cursed Seals, consumes Soul Power and SoulStar Fragments through Extraction, and clamps onto targets with enough force to crush a crippled Divine Lifeform. Smaller canine heads can form on Extraction tendrils for simultaneous biting and draining. The technique is expensive and adds to Michael's overload; Fenrir holds back when further force would kill the vessel. Its scale and energy source make it a temporary projection, not Fenrir's full preserved body leaving the Curse. (Chapters 761–763)
Curse Transformation manifests selected wolf traits, while Curse Fusion combines them with other God Curses. Fenrir supplies claws, predatory vision, expanded energy reserves, and an increasingly wolf-like physique; his Essence also helps stabilize Michael's mind and soul under extreme stress. Jormungandr's body parts initially conflict with Fenrir's, forcing Michael to assign eyes, limbs, tail, and armor through separate Major Seals. When mastered, the fused state supports many Soultraits at once, but maintaining transformed anatomy, curse power, and high-level techniques taxes every part of Michael's vessel. (Chapters 761, 789, 831–842)
Emotion influence and mental protection
Fenrir's Curse can pull at Michael's emotions and urge aggression, body theft, or violence. Early unsealing intensifies existing feelings rather than inventing an unrelated personality, which makes techniques such as the emotion-powered Wicked Spear Arts especially dangerous. Fenrir can also reverse that pressure. He consumes excess emotion after the Undead Pharaoh fight, shields mind and soul from collapse, and later resonates with Michael's anger to increase curse output. The same channel is therefore both a risk and a protective mechanism, depending on whether their wills cooperate. (Chapters 760–777, 845, 883–897)
This emotional influence has limits. Fenrir cannot freely erase fear, grief, or judgment without consequence, and Michael learns to identify when the Curse is pulling him toward brutality. Their closer bond improves control but never proves that every ruthless decision comes from Fenrir. Michael makes independent choices, sometimes agreeing with the wolf's instincts and sometimes refusing them. After separation, Fenrir no longer shares Michael's interior emotional system, yet their mutual understanding remains strong enough for him to recognize his friend's postwar emptiness without a Curse link. (Chapters 883–900, 1077–1093)
Perfect Soul Technique and combat instruction
Fenrir designs a Perfect Soul Technique around Extraction's aura so Michael can absorb and annex surrounding energy while practicing Rune Vortex. During the Temple of the Forgotten's regression trial, repeating the method from Tierless and low-Tier states deepens Michael's understanding of both the technique and Energy Vortex. Fenrir also interprets Blood Incursion, divine Essence, and enemy Curse mechanics. His instruction is specialized in combat, consumption, and Extraction rather than universal knowledge, complementing Jormungandr's broader explanations and Hel's command of Death. (Chapters 902–924)
Fenrir's practical advice tends to favor direct action, but he understands divine constraints. He explains that Pure Aether can harm Essence, recognizes when a Primal must be stalled rather than overpowered, and coordinates Extraction with his siblings' Poison and Death. These judgments are proven in battle: against the Primals, his claws force Essence defenses, his draining attacks reduce the enemy's reserves, and his size compression helps evade barrages. Concentrated Essence can still pierce him, slow him from within, and require his own power to expel, so technique does not make him invulnerable. (Chapters 1004–1012, 1055–1056, 1088)
Restored Beast God body
Fenrir's full body remains stored within Curse Essence throughout his confinement. A Curse could escape by destroying or crippling that body, but Fenrir never takes that irreversible route. Michael's control of the Expanse System instead separates the Curse and restores the preserved wolf intact. In that state Fenrir possesses cosmic size, crushing jaws, void-marking claws, tremendous speed, size compression, and natural durability. His full capabilities are not assigned a numbered Tier in the supplied corpus, and comparisons with Jormungandr or the Primals remain contextual rather than a formal rank. (Chapters 1077–1078)
Restoration removes Michael's vessel limits but also removes his instant support. Fenrir can wield Extraction through his claws and change size freely, yet injuries no longer receive automatic healing from Michael's Soultraits or Nature Divinity. Primal Essence Spears pierce his sides and force him to divert power into expelling foreign Essence. The endpoint therefore presents freedom as an exchange: Fenrir regains independent action and his ancient body, while losing the fused system that combined his power with Michael's regeneration, Soultraits, and vast tactical versatility. (Chapters 1079, 1088–1093)

Relationships
Michael Fang
Michael Fang is Fenrir's vessel from birth and the first host shown to turn their battle for control into a durable partnership. Fenrir initially seeks access to Michael's body, while Michael threatens exorcism and later takes charge of Seal nourishment. Dependence forces cooperation, but shared danger transforms it into respect: Fenrir stabilizes him, lends Extraction and Divinity, teaches him, and fights for his goals; Michael survives long enough to restore Fenrir's body. Their continued friendship after separation proves the bond outlasts the Curse mechanics that first made it unavoidable. (Chapters 760–900, 902–1093)
Cleave Fenrir and the Fenrir bloodline
Cleave Fenrir is a human ancestor, former Curse User, Wicked Spear Arts master, and seven-star Heroic Summon—not Fenrir in mortal form. Fenrir says Cleave might have become his vessel, and the Will later calls Cleave its failed prospect before Michael. The wider Fenrir bloodline supplies vessels and Curse variants, most of which are feline rather than the true wolf. Fenrir's knowledge of those descendants comes from his role as the bloodline's sealed Beast God Curse, not from personally living all of their human biographies. (Chapters 10–15, 760–782, 900–913, 1072–1073)
Jormungandr and Hel
Jormungandr and Hel are Fenrir's siblings and fellow children of Loki. Jormungandr's arrival ends Fenrir's isolation inside Michael, although their powers and body manifestations initially clash. Hel later joins them in Michael as the third God Curse. The siblings compete, mock one another, and argue about tactics, but cooperate in every decisive divine conflict. After release, their Extraction, Power and Poison, and Death abilities form a complementary team capable of stalling a Primal even when none can win alone. (Chapters 686, 760–834, 913–995, 1055–1093)
The Supreme Human Alliance, Beelzebub, and the Primal
Fenrir holds an eon-long feud with the Supreme Human Alliance because it hunts Curse Users and repeatedly returns their weakened Curses to the void. Beelzebub is an Infernal God whose appearance shocks Fenrir out of prolonged silence and exposes the larger system of Gods sealed into Soultraits and Curses. Primal Xerx and the other Primals are the ancient jailers Fenrir wants to face after freedom. Michael's decision to restore them challenges that hatred, but Fenrir ultimately accepts the new Guardians rather than reopen the war. (Chapters 897–913, 990–995, 1012–1093)
Items
- The Staff of Epos is the Undead Pharaoh's Ancient Artifact and a source of concentrated curse power. Fenrir's canine Extraction heads bite and drain it during battle, helping restore Michael's sealed Soultraits and nourishing the Cursed Seals. Fenrir later wants to consume the remaining power with Jormungandr, but the staff is lost rather than becoming his enduring possession. (Chapters 761–763)
- Origin Sap is a Nest resource used during Michael's Higher Ascension. Fenrir converts its higher-order energy into curse power, cleanses impurities with Extraction Essence, and attempts to crack many Cursed Seals. The Sap strengthens his access but also lets Michael form the Major Seal and take control of seal distribution, making it simultaneously a source of growth and a restraint on Fenrir's unilateral freedom. (Chapters 779, 785–790)
- Aethyr belongs to Michael and carries hidden Pure Aether. Fenrir helps explain that Pure Aether can damage divine and Primal Essence, then fights alongside Aethyr-enhanced attacks in the God wars. It complements Extraction by cutting open Essence defenses that Fenrir's power can drain, but it is neither a wolf ability nor proof that the Beast God owns the Artifact. (Chapters 1004–1012)
- Fenrir's Fang is a separate family heirloom named for the bloodline. The Will says it is an Aether fang placed in an Ancient Ruin for Cleave Fenrir, who later gave it to his daughter. The corpus does not establish that it was literally taken from the Wolf Beast God's mouth. Its name and Aether composition connect it symbolically to Fenrir, while its documented ownership and discovery belong to Cleave and his descendants. (Chapter 1073)
