Primal Xerx
Primal Xerx is the youngest of the Primals and the first member of that ancient group killed during the Rebel coup. He must not be confused with Elder Xerx, the unrelated elderly Berserker traitor killed by Palika Mervenham in Chapter 450.
Biography
Battle Exchange and Interdimensional Flag War
The passages attached to this phase concern Elder Xerx, not Primal Xerx. Elder Xerx damages Mihal's tempered crystal chains, attacks the alliance meeting, is exposed as a traitor, and is killed by the Berserker Chieftain; his former room later passes to Michael. Nothing in Chapters 450–455 calls the Berserker a Primal, connects him to the weave, or identifies him as the youngest of ancient siblings. The shared name is therefore treated as a collision rather than a biography arc for Primal Xerx. (Chapters 450–455)
God Wars and the Primal Conflict
Primal Xerx enters an isolated planetary system after Rebel Major Gods deliberately allow the weakest and youngest Primal through, then sever the system from the weave. Cut off from its effectively limitless Essence, Xerx fights Michael with overwhelming Essence weapons, kills Michael's secondary body, and nearly breaks the Rebel plan. Michael returns with a spear of Pure Aether empowered by more than one hundred gods, uses the final thrust of the Wicked Spear Arts, and destroys Xerx's remaining Essence despite his surrender. Xerx's body explodes into a galactic tide of Essence that enters Michael, who must then remove its hostile intent before integrating it. (Chapters 1054–1064)
Appearance and personality
Primal Xerx is described as one of the skinnier Primals, though his slender form contains densely compressed Essence and old wounds left by Beelzebub. The corpus gives no human-style details such as hair, clothing, or eye color. He begins calm, dismissive, and certain that a younger opponent cannot threaten a Primal. As isolation drains his reserves, irritation becomes rage and then madness; at the point of death he weeps and begs to surrender, while Mind Watcher exposes memories of his participation in ancient mass exterminations. (Chapters 1054–1063)
Primal Essence and weave-born weapons
Xerx's body is composed and sustained by Primal Essence. While connected to the weave, a Primal can replenish that Essence on an extraordinary scale; the Weave Seal removes this advantage and turns every expenditure into a lasting loss. Xerx shapes Essence into walls, shields, spears, swords, blades, bombs, and shockwaves, and his attacks can tear Michael apart or kill a secondary body. Pure Aether, Extraction, poison, Death, the Rebels' contributed Essences, and disconnection from the weave are required to wear him down. Old damage from Beelzebub also appears never to have healed fully. (Chapters 1054–1064)
Relationships
The other Primals
The other Primals call Xerx their youngest and weakest brother, but initially trust him to crush Michael. They become alarmed only when his Essence disappears from their senses, an unprecedented consequence of the Weave Seal. Later events at the Beginning refer to Michael's fight against Xerx as the model for increased spatial costs, but Xerx himself is already dead. (Chapters 1054–1055, 1082)
Michael Fang
Michael is the intended executioner in a trap prepared by the Rebels. Xerx repeatedly destroys his body and kills his secondary self, while Michael compensates through regeneration, Pure Aether, multiple Divinities, Beast Halos, and donated Essence. Michael refuses Xerx's final plea after reading memories of the Primal's atrocities and converts the remnant Essence into power only after attacking its surviving intent. (Chapters 1055–1064)
Beelzebub and the Rebels
Beelzebub had injured Xerx before the isolated battle, leaving persistent weak spots associated with destructive Laws and Authorities. During the final exchange he and other Rebel gods protect Michael from Xerx's last Essence Swords. Their long coup and collective sacrifice are essential; the narrative explicitly says Michael could not have killed Xerx with personal power alone. (Chapters 1055, 1063)
Items
Primal Xerx carries no securely named weapon, armor, Artifact, or personal relic. His spears, swords, shields, and bombs are temporary constructs formed from his own Essence, not separate possessions. The Pure Aether spear that kills him belongs to Michael's attack and is likewise not Xerx's item. (Chapters 1054–1064)
