Daniel Fang

Daniel Fang is Michael Fang's elder brother, first combat teacher, and closest childhood protector. An experienced Lord before Michael awakens, Daniel dies in the Sacred Desert, returns as the summoned Masked Saber, and sacrifices himself a second time in the Lord Rift. His preserved Living Soul is eventually separated from its Curse and placed in a reconstructed body. Beginning again from Tierless, he awakens the nine-star Sword God Soultrait and ultimately earns the title Undefeatable Sword God.

Biography

War Rune Awakening and the First Territory

Daniel is already spending most of his time in the Origin Expanse when Michael reaches awakening age. Their parents' absence has made him Michael's practical guardian, so his attention is divided between managing his own desert territory and returning home to check on his younger brother. When they reunite, Daniel spars with Michael while restricting his strength, mocks him affectionately, then gives him a healing potion after the lesson. The pattern establishes training as one expression of Daniel's care rather than simple competition. (Chapters 5–6)

His protection becomes materially costly when he gives Michael Tigerfang, a natural five-star Tierless Artifact he had discovered near the Primedival Pyramid. Michael protests that Daniel could have expanded his own territory with the fortune represented by the weapon, but Daniel refuses to reconsider. Survival outweighs expense in his reasoning; he also offers Michael a place among his own people if the new Lord decides that keeping a territory is too dangerous. (Chapters 7, 74, 267–268)

Once Michael returns successfully from his first campaign, Daniel greets him with food, teasing, practical questions, and more supplies. By then he is an experienced Tier 2 Lord who understands the dangers of exposing a young territory's location and the advantages wealthy families secure at military academies. Daniel declines Michael's hope that they might study together because his territory and responsibilities demand his attention. The choice continues a longer pattern in which he forgoes ordinary educational opportunities while prioritizing Michael's future and his own subjects. (Chapters 55–65, 266)

Saphirelake Admission and EmeraldLeaf Contact

Daniel is mostly outside Michael's academy life, but his earlier preparation accompanies Michael into Saphirelake. Tigerfang's unusual quality attracts Alice Zenovia's attention and exposes that a supposedly ordinary Tier 2 Lord had acquired an exceptional Artifact. Daniel's lessons likewise shape Michael's caution about High Society, territorial information, and the difference between formal rank and actual danger. His influence in this phase is therefore exercised through equipment and judgment already entrusted to Michael, not through control over the younger Lord's decisions. (Chapters 74–93)

The brothers keep trying to coordinate around the Origin Expanse's separate schedule. Michael sends messages asking Daniel to contact him after returning and manifesting his Runic Gate, but the timing repeatedly prevents immediate conversation. That imperfect contact matters because Michael has begun taking academy risks, building ties to the EmeraldLeaf Forest Elves, and investigating an Ancient Ruin. Daniel remains the person to whom he instinctively reports important discoveries, even when distance means that Michael must act before receiving an answer. (Chapters 103, 115–127)

Michael also preserves a written sample from the Temple of the Forgotten and later shows the same paper he had shown Daniel before their separation. The detail positions Daniel as an early confidant for mysteries Michael does not yet understand. It does not establish that Daniel deciphered the old script, and his absence from the subsequent EmeraldLeaf negotiations leaves Michael responsible for disclosure. Daniel's role has shifted from active guardian to trusted reference point while the brothers' territories develop along increasingly separate paths. (Chapters 169–172)

The Lord Rift and Daniel’s Loss

After reaching Tier 3, Daniel joins four neighboring Lords in assaulting the Primedival Pyramid when a countdown forces rival territories into temporary cooperation. He distrusts the alliance and evacuates his people into an underground bunker, securing a Lord Seal so he can reclaim his territory if the surface settlement falls. He refuses the safer option of abandoning those who depend on him. Having experienced abandonment himself, he would rather risk death than repeat it against his subjects. (Chapters 267–273)

Daniel enters the pyramid with a customized Tier 3 Takla sword and Reinforced Sword Qi, but the allied Lords and hired Adventurers betray him. Poison accumulated over months has already weakened his body, while one traitor wields a copied form of his Soultrait. Even after losing an arm, Daniel activates Life Reversal and continues fighting because escape alone would leave his people exposed. His final thoughts turn toward his subordinates, his missing sister Hesta, his parents, the Fang Curse, and his fear that he has not been a sufficient brother to Michael. (Chapters 268–279)

The Undead Pharaoh kills the traitors and beheads Daniel, after which Daniel returns under identity restrictions as Michael's summoned Masked Saber. He recognizes Michael and accepts concealment in order to remain close and protect him. During the Lord Rift's Red Dragon attack, his mask burns away, but he spends Life Reversal again, creates a vast silver sword, shields Michael and Tiara, and is reduced to ash. Michael finally connects Masked Saber's voice, Reinforced Sword Qi, and unwavering loyalty to Daniel, realizing that his brother died twice for him. (Chapters 173, 245, 265–266, 279–280)

Battle Exchange and Interdimensional Flag War

Daniel has no independent body during Michael's Battle Exchange preparation, so this phase is defined by the consequences of his loss rather than new actions he personally takes. Michael returns to the Origin Expanse because work and growth are preferable to remaining idle while thinking about Daniel. The decision does not erase grief; it converts grief into a demanding routine. Daniel's standards of preparation and protection remain part of how Michael approaches the academy's punishment and the coming Interdimensional Flag War. (Chapters 292–305)

Messages from Evalynn and Peter deepen the wound because they barely address Daniel's death before shifting attention to Hesta and Michael. Their response confirms the childhood hierarchy Daniel had already lived with: the son who stayed behind and raised Michael receives little acknowledgment even in death. For Michael, the contrast makes Daniel's sacrifices more significant and his parents' explanations less credible. Daniel's posthumous place in the family is thus defined by the care he performed, not by belated parental claims. (Chapters 328, 349–350)

The Flag War also supplies clues about the people behind Daniel's betrayal. Copied Soultraits, the Zan family, and connections reaching toward High Society suggest that the killers were supported by powers above the Adventurers who entered the pyramid. Michael wants immediate answers, while Alice warns that he lacks the strength to challenge everyone involved. Daniel consequently becomes the personal center of a larger investigation: tracing his death draws Michael from one treacherous expedition toward the institutions capable of arranging it. Savannah Alliances and Regional War

Michael initially continues treating Daniel as dead while searching for links between Taros, the Red Dragon, the Undead, and the Sacred Desert. That changes when Evalynn reveals that the Lord Rift reward known as the Keychain Casket contains Daniel's sentient Living Soul. The soul is hibernating and deteriorating, with a Curse attached to it. Evalynn proposes reincarnation, but Michael rejects a solution that would erase Daniel's memories and identity. (Chapters 511, 541–546)

Daniel cannot yet speak or act freely, and the keychain's preservation is not permanent. Michael learns that the attached Curse could eventually turn the soul into a Hellbound Cataclysm, which makes delay dangerous even though a careless extraction could destroy what remains. The revelation changes the brothers' situation from bereavement to rescue under uncertain conditions. Daniel is alive in a narrow, damaged sense, and Michael begins assembling Soul Tears, exorcism knowledge, and a container capable of holding him safely. (Chapters 543–570)

The Savannah and Regional conflicts supply both distraction and resources for that work. Michael improves Soul Grimoire until it can hold a weak Living Soul, but by the end of the phase it still cannot preserve Daniel securely. He decides a six-star upgrade should be sufficient and links the planned rescue to defeating enemy Lords whose SoulStar Fragments can fund it. Daniel remains unable to participate in those battles, yet his survival becomes one of the concrete purposes to which Michael directs the gains of war. (Chapters 590, 626–648)

Arx, the Sacred Desert, and Bloodline Revelations

After upgrading Soul Grimoire, Michael and Evalynn attempt the separation. Michael nourishes Daniel's spark of life with Soul Tears and uses True Extraction while his mother restrains the Curse and the World Serpent helps contain it. The hostile presence takes a tigerlike form, proving too tightly entangled for a simple removal. Michael nevertheless extracts and destroys it without losing Daniel, then transfers the cleansed Living Soul into Soul Grimoire, where fragments and the book's Soul Container stabilize him. (Chapters 684–693)

Daniel can finally communicate through Whispering Energy and immediately returns to familiar banter, questions, and advice. With permission, he can share Michael's Spirit Eyes, Mind Reader, and Qi, giving the disembodied brother indirect access to the world. His presence softens Michael's urgent need for revenge: the people responsible still matter, but restoring Daniel is now more important than killing them quickly. Daniel also studies the evolved six-star Qi and discusses whether the Soultrait should eventually return to its original owner. (Chapters 693–721)

In the Sacred Desert, Daniel confronts the setting of his first death from inside Michael's Soul Grimoire. He warns and advises as Michael faces the Undead Pharaoh and struggles with the Wolf Curse and World Serpent. When control seems uncertain, Daniel expresses confidence that Michael can regain his body and promises to help. He cannot wield a sword independently, but his trust acts as a stabilizing force. The brother once protected through physical sacrifice now supports Michael through judgment and a shared mental connection. (Chapters 724–759)

The Nest and the Supreme Human Alliance

Daniel remains a Living Soul during the journey toward the Nest and helps evaluate routes, Summons, and the risks of returning through the Sacred Desert. Memories of dragons and the Lord Rift still make him recoil, showing that preservation has not removed trauma. He nevertheless participates in planning rather than withdrawing from danger. The arrangement lets him see Michael's transformed alliances and growing domain at close range, while also making clear that a soul dependent on another person's War Rune has not yet regained an independent life. (Chapters 763–830)

The Spring of Abundant Life eventually forms Daniel a flawless vessel over forty-two days. He emerges with his familiar face, short black hair, and dark eyes, but without scars, calluses, impurities, an Energy Pillar, or even Tierless status. Selena constructs an artificial War Rune because he cannot awaken through the ordinary Lord process. Daniel voluntarily forms a Link of Loyalty with Michael, accepts the sword Zaer and a defensive bracelet, uses an Awakening Stone, and enters the Origin Expanse again as a beginning Awakened. (Chapters 835–839)

Daniel awakens the nine-star Sword God Soultrait and produces Sword Aura. Although the soul restored to him is already unusually large and developed, he chooses not to reclaim Qi immediately because Sword God feels like the power suited to his new life. He advances rapidly but accepts Michael's warning to rebuild his foundation carefully. By the campaign against the Blaze household, Daniel and Caesus have worked together effectively, and both enter Michael's command circle on the strength of their conduct rather than Daniel's family name alone. Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War

Reunion with the Fang family does not yield an easy reconciliation. Daniel and Michael conclude that Evalynn is a lost cause rather than accepting explanations that would excuse years of neglect, while Peter's pursuit of Curse power confirms why neither son trusts him. Daniel is less consumed by confrontation than Michael and later still gives Evalynn two modest Soultraits, indicating that residual affection can coexist with judgment. His restored life allows him to define contact with his parents without surrendering the history that made him Michael's guardian. (Chapters 905, 1095–1096)

Daniel's impurity-free body lets him cross into Higher Lifeform status with unusual speed, and he serves as Michael's right hand while the latter prepares for the Temple of the Forgotten. The reconstructed vessel and enlarged soul make advancement easier, but Daniel still trains through the new foundation instead of returning automatically to his old Tier. Sword God gives him enough combat reach to oppose stronger enemies, while his place in the command structure depends equally on experience as a former Lord and his willingness to intervene among volatile Awakened. Before the Titan War's next escalation, Daniel consumes Origin Liquid with Michael's other allies. He has not yet completed Divine Ascension, but he can already fight an average Divine Lifeform and identifies himself among those capable of doing so. When arguments break out over the distribution of extracted Soultraits, Daniel joins Michael and Hiraku in preventing Super Awakened from turning debate into lethal violence. His role by this point combines exceptional sword growth with the older-brother habit of stopping powerful people from harming themselves. (Chapters 976–978)

God Wars and the Primal Conflict

Daniel enters the later wars as a Tier 6 Higher Lifeform and a specialist rather than collecting a broad network of Soultraits. At a Fae Union border settlement, he concentrates SoulStar Fragments into Sword God, begins forming pieces of its tenth star, and uses conjured daggers in rotating rings to cut through massed enemies. His Perfect Entity soul and fragments of a Divine Shell resist mental and soul attacks that would disable ordinary Higher Lifeforms, although allied Divine Beasts handle the actual Divine opponents in that battle. (Chapter 1001)

His specialization begins exposing knowledge beyond ordinary Soultrait technique. By Chapter 1025 Daniel is learning the Sword Law through Sword God, and the God Curses speculate that the Soultrait originated from a born god's sealed Divinity. Michael hopes Daniel will complete Divine Ascension and create a Divinity, but the text still frames both as future achievements; Chapter 1027 likewise says he remains far from Demi-God status. Daniel therefore approaches godhood through study and refinement rather than receiving it at the first appearance of the tenth star. (Chapters 1024–1027)

The Primal conflict ends with Michael becoming the New Primal, while Daniel's earlier deaths are reframed as part of the chain of events the Will allowed or arranged. The Will acknowledges creating the Miniature Coffin Keychain that preserved him, though its purpose included preventing Michael from collapsing into vengeance. Daniel is not reduced to that function: the rescued brother has an independent body, command role, and chosen path. By the epilogue he has completed godhood and bears the Undefeatable Sword God title. (Chapters 1072–1073, 1099)

The Unknown Domain and the New Era

In the new order, Daniel maintains limited contact with Evalynn and Peter, especially when they ask about Michael. Hesta describes him as still caring enough to buy Evalynn Soultraits despite everything she did, while Daniel himself calls both parents strange rather than treating reconciliation as complete. His closest new relationship is with Rebecca, whose curiosity and bluntness match his teasing temperament. Although his title makes him formidable, their domestic exchanges show that godhood has not removed his capacity to be embarrassed, corrected, or affectionate. (Chapters 1095–1099)

Daniel and Rebecca volunteer to investigate the Unknown Domain after learning that it may be a smaller universe or fragment newly connected to the Origin Universe. He retrieves the Skypiercer spacecraft from his War Rune and chooses exploration over remaining in an established command post. Once across the boundary, Daniel recklessly tests the foreign energies on his own system. Force and Spirita cannot be retained, but Mana circulates successfully and can power a blade through his Divinity at almost the strength of an Essence-made weapon. (Chapters 1099–1101)

The pair land on an inhabited planet, examine how Mana, Force, and Spirita shape plants and monsters, and make peaceful contact with Cyclops-like natives who call outsiders Sages. Daniel obeys the expedition's purpose by observing rather than conquering, even though fighting unfamiliar monsters interests him. Their reports later guide Michael's understanding of the domain, and other allies consider joining them. Daniel's endpoint is therefore not a return to guarding Michael's life but an open-ended journey chosen with Rebecca, backed by strength he rebuilt as his own. (Chapters 1102–1103, 1120–1123)

Appearance and personality

Daniel is introduced with black hair and dark eyes, the same general family coloring as Michael. In his first life he is physically trained and accustomed to sword combat, but the corpus does not establish exact measurements or a permanent outfit. As Masked Saber, his face is hidden until the Red Dragon's flames destroy the mask. His reconstructed body restores the same face, voice, short black hair, and dark eyes while removing scars, calluses, and every other impurity accumulated by his earlier body. (Chapters 6, 265–266, 835)

Protectiveness is Daniel's defining trait. He raised Michael after their parents left, sacrificed educational opportunities, gave away costly equipment, and repeatedly placed his body between his brother and death. That care can appear as nagging, stern orders, physical training, or jokes rather than open sentiment. It also extends to his subjects: Daniel's refusal to abandon them in the Sacred Desert reflects the same wound that made him determined not to leave Michael alone. His self-criticism at death shows that he judges himself more harshly than Michael does. (Chapters 6–7, 58–61, 266–279)

Daniel is sociable, teasing, gluttonous, and sometimes recklessly curious. Restoration to a Living Soul quickly brings back his habit of talking, needling Michael, and offering tactical opinions. Rebirth does not erase fear—dragons still trigger memories of his deaths—but it lets him turn experience into caution without becoming passive. With Rebecca he remains playful enough to provoke her and impulsive enough to test unknown energy on himself, yet he listens when she imposes safety limits and shares the detailed observations she needs. (Chapters 55–59, 693–721, 811, 1099–1103)

Sword God, Reinforced Sword Qi, and reconstructed power

Reinforced Sword Qi and swordsmanship

In his first life, Daniel's Soultrait is Reinforced Sword Qi. It coats and extends his sword attacks with silver energy, supports large projected blades, and synergizes with the customized Tier 3 Takla sword. A betrayer's copied version helps expose the conspiracy against him, but the imitation does not reproduce Daniel's loyalty or judgment. After his soul is cleansed, the power evolves into the six-star Qi Soultrait while held by Michael; Daniel experiments with it through their connection, though he does not immediately reclaim it after rebirth. (Chapters 265–279, 693, 719–721, 843)

Daniel's technical skill predates every supernatural upgrade. He teaches Michael basic combat, handles a sword under severe poisoning and limb loss, and later adapts Sword God into both direct sword attacks and a Dagger Typhoon of linked, rotating blades. His specialization means he gives up the flexibility of collecting many Soultraits in exchange for deeper knowledge of bladed combat. At higher stages, this focus leads toward Sword Aura, Sword Law, Divinity, and the Undefeatable Sword God identity. (Chapters 6, 268–279, 843, 1001, 1025, 1099)

Life Reversal and Masked Saber

Life Reversal is a forbidden technique that spends Daniel's life force for a temporary surge of power. He invokes it against the traitors in the Primedival Pyramid despite months of poisoning and uses it again as Masked Saber to create the silver defense and giant sword that save Michael and Tiara from the Red Dragon. Both scenes establish the cost directly: the technique does not heal him or provide sustainable advancement, and its second use ends with his summoned body burned to ash. (Chapters 265–279)

As Masked Saber, Daniel exists as Michael's Summon under commands that restrict his identity. He retains Reinforced Sword Qi, sword habits Michael eventually recognizes, and an exceptionally strong True Link of Loyalty. The state lets him protect Michael after his first death, but it is neither ordinary resurrection nor freedom; he cannot simply explain who he is, and the summoned body can be destroyed. His willing acceptance of those limits is meaningful because proximity to Michael matters more to him than recognition. (Chapters 173, 245, 265–280)

Living Soul and Perfect Entity

The Keychain Casket preserves Daniel as a sentient Living Soul after Masked Saber's destruction, but it also contains the tiger-shaped Curse attached to him. Once Michael separates the Curse and places Daniel in Soul Grimoire, Daniel communicates with Whispering Energy, receives nourishment from SoulStar Fragments, and can borrow access to certain of Michael's senses or Soultraits with permission. This dependence gives him awareness and agency but not an independent physical presence until the Spring of Abundant Life completes a vessel. (Chapters 541–546, 684–721)

Daniel's reconstructed body is described as a Perfect Entity: its lack of impurities makes Higher Ascension unusually easy, while its enlarged, refined soul endures attacks that can trouble other Higher Lifeforms. The body begins below Tierless and requires an artificial War Rune, so purity accelerates progression rather than restoring rank automatically. Fragments of a Divine Shell later strengthen mental defenses. Near the corpus endpoint, Daniel can also circulate the Unknown Domain's Mana and channel it through his Divinity, while Force and Spirita remain incompatible with his system. Sword God

Sword God awakens at nine stars and gives Daniel Sword Aura and broad authority over bladed combat. Rather than bind numerous additional Soultraits, he invests his SoulStar Fragments into this one Symbol, learning more whenever its rating develops. By the Fae Union campaign, fragments of a tenth star have formed, and he can conjure and coordinate multiple weapons while retaining precise control. The Soultrait's strength is depth, but its energy consumption and Daniel's then-incomplete Divine Ascension remain real limits. (Chapters 843–844, 1001)

As Sword God nears ten stars, it begins teaching Daniel the Sword Law. The God Curses infer that it may contain the sealed Divinity of an earlier born Sword God, but the account presents that origin as speculation rather than confirmed history. Completing his own Divinity and godhood remains a later accomplishment. By Chapter 1099 he is explicitly titled the Undefeatable Sword God and has attained godhood, enabling him to form Essence blades and to reproduce similar constructs with compatible foreign Mana. Michael Fang

Michael Fang is Daniel's younger brother, student, closest friend, and eventual Lord. Daniel becomes his guardian after their parents leave, trains him, and spends his own resources to improve Michael's chances of surviving as an Awakened. He dies protecting Michael as Masked Saber, while Michael reorganizes years of war and research around rescuing Daniel's Living Soul. After rebirth, Daniel willingly forms a Link of Loyalty to Michael, but their relationship returns to teasing, advice, and mutual trust rather than remaining one-sided dependence. Hesta, Evalynn, and Peter

Hesta Fang is the older sister Daniel remembers and hopes to find even at the point of death. Evalynn Fang and Peter Gramm leave Daniel and Michael while pursuing Hesta and the Fang family's Curse crisis. Daniel does not excuse the abandonment after their reunion, yet he remains more willing than Michael to maintain limited contact and even gives Evalynn Soultraits. His attitude combines affection, disappointment, and firm recognition that neither parent's explanation restores the childhood they surrendered. (Chapters 266–279, 541–546, 905, 1095–1099)

Rebecca Zauber

Rebecca Zauber becomes Daniel's partner in both personal life and exploration. Her analytical caution contrasts with his willingness to test danger directly, as shown when he absorbs the Unknown Domain's energies before their effects are fully known. She rebukes him, documents his observations, and decides to accompany him beyond the Origin Universe. Daniel's godhood does not create distance between them; their conversations remain playful, argumentative, and affectionate, and he welcomes the chance to spend years exploring at her side. (Chapters 1099–1103)

Tiara and Caesus

Tiara is one of the two people Daniel saves from the Red Dragon as Masked Saber, linking her directly to his second sacrifice. After his rebirth, she becomes a fellow member of Michael's command structure. Daniel works especially well with Caesus during the campaign against the Blaze household, and their cooperation helps earn both men places in the inner council. When Tiara and Caesus later resume fighting over Silverfang leadership, they agree that asking Daniel to intervene would likely end with both being beaten for their conduct. (Chapters 265–280, 837, 880–887, 1033)

The people of his first territory

Daniel's first subjects are not individually named in the surviving account, but his responsibility toward them defines his conduct in the Sacred Desert. He prepares an underground evacuation, obtains a Lord Seal that could recover his destroyed domain, and fights the pyramid alliance rather than escaping alone. His refusal is grounded in experience: because abandonment shaped him and Michael, he will not inflict it on people who placed their trust in him. Their fate after the pyramid disaster is not fully documented, so the relationship's endpoint remains unresolved in the local corpus. (Chapters 267–279)

Tigerfang

Tigerfang is a natural five-star Tierless sword Daniel finds near the Primedival Pyramid. He saves it for Michael's awakening and gives it away despite the weapon's value to his own developing territory. Daniel insists that Michael bind the Artifact if possible because immediate survival matters more than reimbursement or pride. The gift becomes one of Michael's earliest dependable weapons and a visible sign that Daniel had been preparing for his brother's future before Michael entered the Origin Expanse. (Chapters 7, 74, 267–268)

Keychain Casket

The Keychain Casket, also described as the Miniature Coffin Keychain, is the Lord Rift reward that preserves Daniel's Living Soul after Masked Saber's body is destroyed. It keeps the soul from disappearing but does not remove the attached Curse or stop gradual deterioration. Evalynn reveals its function to Michael, who later extracts Daniel from it into Soul Grimoire. The Will eventually confirms that it arranged the item's creation, at least partly to keep Michael from collapsing under Daniel's loss. (Chapters 541–546, 684–693, 1073)

Lord Seal

Daniel purchases a Lord Seal before the Primedival Pyramid expedition. Its purpose is contingency rather than conquest: if the allied Lords destroy his surface territory while he is inside the pyramid, the seal should let him reclaim the territory after his evacuated people emerge from their bunker. The preparation shows that Daniel anticipates betrayal even though he cannot identify every participant or neutralize the poison already weakening him. The corpus does not establish that he gets an opportunity to use it. (Chapters 267–268)

Takla, Zaer, and later equipment

Takla is Daniel's customized Epic Tier 3 sword in his first life, acquired through debt to a Saint-rank blacksmith and designed to work with Reinforced Sword Qi. After reconstruction, Michael instead gives him Zaer, a Legendary Tierless sword, together with an Epic Tierless shield bracelet so his equipment can grow with the body that begins from nothing. Later, Daniel carries the Skypiercer spacecraft in his War Rune storage for the Unknown Domain expedition.
