Hesta Fang

Hesta Fang is the eldest Fang sibling, a prodigy whose disappearance during High Ascension separates the family and eventually leads Evalynn and Peter to abandon their minor sons. Publicly remembered as the War Empress, she survives because the Nest intervenes when her Curse awakens catastrophically. Her later return gives Michael and Daniel answers without erasing the consequences of their childhood, while her service to the Nest makes her a major combatant against the Supreme Human Alliance.

Biography

The Lord Rift and Daniel’s Loss

Michael's memory presents twenty-year-old Hesta as the family's ambitious eldest child, already renowned for surviving severe ordeals and refusing to lower her standards for weaker, unmotivated people. After spending a day sparring with Peter, she returns exhausted but immediately kneels to embrace Michael and Daniel. She promises herself that she will spend more time with them and ensure they never struggle, making her subsequent disappearance a broken pledge rather than a voluntary rejection shown on the page. (Chapter 266)

That evening becomes the brothers' final good memory of their intact family. Hesta vanishes shortly before Michael's eighth birthday, and Evalynn and Peter soon leave their minor sons behind. Michael and Daniel believe that her disappearance was abnormal and intend to find her, but Daniel dies in the Lord Rift without learning where she went or what the Fang bloodline's Curse meant. Hesta is absent from the immediate tragedy, yet the unanswered mystery around her shapes both brothers' losses. (Chapters 266–279)

Battle Exchange and Interdimensional Flag War

Alice's knowledge supplies the first reliable public account of Hesta's career. Without a powerful sponsor, Hesta advances nearly as quickly as privileged Descendants, defeats a Tekur group alone, and overcomes roughly a dozen Tier 4 Descendants while still a Lesser Lifeform. Those achievements earn her the title War Empress. Her last publicly known turning point is also the central mystery: she disappears on the day her High Ascension carries her into Tier 4. As Michael investigates, Hesta's reputation expands beyond the family story. Kraft Viton recognizes her title instantly and is shocked that she is Michael's sister, showing how thoroughly her fame eclipsed her private identity. Public observers assumed she had purchased or inherited a Blessing because she was the first Fang known to exceed Mythical Being-level power. That explanation is explicitly an assumption; later chapters attribute her exceptional power and disappearance to a dangerous Curse awakening instead. (Chapters 433–434)

Savannah Alliances and Regional War

Giuliana Seraph compares Michael's ancient power to Hesta's and warns that such abilities attract the Supreme Human Alliance and High Society. Soon afterward, Michael learns from Evalynn that Hesta is alive. Evalynn explains that Hesta broke no Cursed Seals before High Ascension, then opened dozens at once and suffered severe complications. The revelation answers whether Hesta survived, but it also deepens Michael's resentment because neither she nor their parents returned while he and Daniel struggled alone. (Chapters 520, 545–547)

Evalynn later explains that the family found Hesta after she had gone off-grid and that her loss of control caused devastation, drew enemies, and brought her close to death. The Nest became both sanctuary and containment: its members had the strength and knowledge to stabilize a newly awakened Curse User. By the time Peter reflects on their arrival nearly a decade later, Hesta's rescue has become the defining justification for the parents' choice, even though it does not excuse leaving their younger children. Arx, the Sacred Desert, and Bloodline Revelations

The Fang bloodline revelations overturn the idea that Hesta's power came from an acquired Blessing. The Nest had considered her the only descendant of Fenrir's Curse until Daniel and Michael were exposed as Cursed Children. Evalynn's memories show that Hesta displayed warning signs before becoming a Higher Lifeform. Hesta did not fully awaken her Curse before High Ascension; the crisis began when many seals broke during that transformation. Evalynn follows her because she fears the Nest may harm her, while later testimony establishes that the Nest's intervention is what saves her. This chronology reconciles Hesta's public disappearance with her private fate: advancement itself does not remove her from society, but the uncontrolled Curse awakening accompanying it forces her into the Nest's protection. The Nest and the Supreme Human Alliance

Within the Nest, Hesta develops from rescued patient into an experienced Curse User whose strength is recognized even by senior members. Evee states that Hesta would have died during High Ascension without the Nest and attributes her potential partly to the strong compatibility between her Curse and Soultrait. Her first reunion with Michael is emotionally restrained rather than sentimental. Hesta appears with Evalynn and Peter, asks whether Daniel's resurrection succeeded, and watches Michael alongside the rest of the family. Earlier teasing within the Nest suggests that Michael may eventually challenge her, but the siblings do not instantly recover their childhood intimacy. Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War

Selena deploys Hesta with Michael, Fera, Lighno'vsh, and other Curse Users against the Numbers at Claerus. Hesta treats the mission professionally: she evaluates Michael's strength, warns Fera not to provoke Selena, helps establish secure communications, and accompanies Fera to contact the local authorities. When she encounters the brainwashed Zeke, she sees through his illusion, severs an arm, and moves to execute him until Michael intervenes and identifies his friend. (Chapters 905–910)

At Tier 6, Hesta combines the eight-star War Empress Soultrait, a King Curse, and close-range blade work. She kills eleven Higher Lifeform Numbers rapidly and later tears through massed enemies in a predatory transformed state, although her Curse is visibly slipping beyond her control. She returns injured and later loses an arm during the wider war. Even after Michael gives the Nest multiple Soultraits, the Supreme Human Alliance adapts, concentrates on Curse Users, and reverses the Nest's early gains. (Chapters 909, 914–917, 962–963)

The Unknown Domain and the New Era

After the Curses separate from most users and the old Nest loses its original purpose, Hesta turns toward reconstruction. She helps Evee organize research documents and proposes joining Michael's effort to protect Lesser Human communities, inviting Evee to travel with her rather than accepting separation. By this point Hesta is a Divine Lifeform, and their affectionate exchange makes their partnership explicit even though Evee remains characteristically committed to taking her work along. Hesta also confronts the history of her own family. She urges Evalynn to earn any chance of contact with Michael through the Human Protection Service, condemns Peter for pursuing a Curse instead of protecting any of his children, and cuts ties with him while warning him away from Daniel. A year later, Peter's repeated messages irritate her but also draw a reluctant smile. Hesta plans to live with Evee and possibly adopt children, while honestly doubting that Michael will reconcile with their parents. (Chapters 1095–1097)

Appearance and disposition

At twenty, Hesta is described as a beautiful young woman whose appearance is compared favorably with Alice Zenovia's. The corpus does not give a reliable hair color, eye color, height, or fixed outfit for her ordinary form. During the Claerus battle, however, her unleashed Curse gives her predatory eyes and long, razor-sharp fangs, making her movements appear wilder and less human. Hesta is ambitious, demanding, and openly contemptuous of people who remain weak despite having better opportunities. Her early reputation for coldness and her insistence that a partner must be strong contrast with the tenderness she shows her younger brothers. As an adult she remains blunt and combative, but she can also plan cautiously, teach Michael weapon mastery, share information, and recognize that his distance is a consequence of abandonment rather than simple hostility. Her family judgments are not indiscriminate. Hesta criticizes Evalynn's hypocrisy but offers her a path toward useful restitution; she condemns Peter more severely because his motive was personal power rather than Hesta's survival. She protects Daniel from further interference, works to improve her strained relationship with Michael, and chooses a future with Evee. War Empress Soultrait and White Tiger Curse

War Empress

War Empress is Hesta's signature Soultrait and is rated eight-star by the Claerus campaign. The corpus demonstrates its combat value more clearly than its full mechanics: Hesta can identify and cut through Zeke's illusion, overwhelm large groups of Higher Lifeforms without an area-of-effect Soultrait, and emit an overbearing aura powerful enough to suppress Peter. Her title and Soultrait share the same name, so references to the War Empress may denote Hesta, her reputation, or the ability depending on context. (Chapters 349, 909, 1095)

The Soultrait favors direct combat rather than broad battlefield clearing. Hesta uses exceptional speed, perception, pressure, and weapon skill to close on individual targets, sever limbs, and kill them in rapid succession. The narrative does not provide a formal list of named sub-techniques or isolate exactly which physical changes come from War Empress rather than her Curse. Claims beyond the demonstrated aura, combat enhancement, and anti-illusion performance would therefore be speculative. (Chapters 909, 915)

White Tiger Curse and Cursed Seals

Hesta's Curse is finally named the White Tiger in Peter's retrospective account. Earlier Nest records call her the sole known descendant of Fenrir's Curse, and the Claerus narration calls her power a King Curse of the Fenrir bloodline. These statements establish lineage and rank but do not identify the White Tiger as Fenrir itself. The Curse's high compatibility with War Empress makes Hesta extraordinarily powerful while also making an uncontrolled awakening especially dangerous. (Chapters 744, 787, 909, 1096)

The Curse remains sealed until High Ascension, when Hesta breaks dozens of Cursed Seals together. Without Evee detecting her curse frequencies and the Nest intervening, the power would have killed Hesta or transformed into a Hellbound Calamity. Years of Nest training improve her survival and output, but the Claerus campaign shows that control is still imperfect: the unleashed Curse produces predatory features and fury, and Fenrir recognizes that its fragment is taking too much control of its vessel. Weapons, training, and additional Soultraits

Hesta is a close-range weapon specialist who fights with a blade and later trains Michael to improve his weapon mastery. She can combine technique, physical force, War Empress, and Curse power without needing a named ranged attack. Her tactical experience also includes secure field communication, operating with unfamiliar authorities, handling Minor Curses, and assessing other Curse Users' control, making her useful to the Nest beyond personal destructive power. Michael later gives Hesta multiple Soultrait Symbols for the conflict with the Tekur, accelerating her growth and helping the Nest's Curse Users win early campaigns. Michael concludes that Hesta does not deserve the hatred he reserves for their parents, speaks with her occasionally, fights beside her, and accepts her instruction in weapon mastery. Hesta understands that Michael's loyalty to chosen family grows from being abandoned. She says their relationship remains rough but has improved through her own effort, and Michael trusts her with Soultraits for the Tekur conflict. She supports his Human Protection Service rather than demanding private favor and refuses to tell Evalynn that reconciliation is likely. Their endpoint is limited but genuine sibling contact, not a return to the uncomplicated bond Michael remembers. (Chapters 962–963, 1094–1097)

Daniel Fang

Daniel Fang shares Michael's childhood devotion to Hesta and the determination to discover why she vanished. After his resurrection, Daniel chooses more contact with her than Michael does. They talk regularly and spar, though Daniel cannot yet fight her head-on. Hesta asks about his successful return before the family reunion and later threatens Peter if he bothers Daniel, making her protectiveness explicit after years in which she could not fulfill it. Evalynn and Peter Fang

Evalynn saves Hesta by following her to the Nest, and Hesta acknowledges that protective motive while condemning its cost to Michael and Daniel. She offers Evalynn practical restitution through service to vulnerable human communities, yet also insists on building a separate home with Evee. Peter receives a harsher judgment: Hesta says he pursued a Curse while she was dying and the boys were abandoned. Evee

Evee detects Hesta's curse frequencies in time for the Nest to prevent her death or transformation into a Hellbound Calamity. That rescue eventually develops into an intimate partnership. By the epilogue, Hesta openly intends to live with Evee and believes they may adopt children, making Evee central to the independent future Hesta chooses beyond the Fang household. The Nest saves Hesta, trains her, and turns her catastrophic awakening into an operational strength. Evee, Eren, Selena, Fera, and other Curse Users variously rescue, teach, command, tease, and fight alongside her. Hesta eventually becomes strong enough to handle Minor Curses and join major campaigns against the Numbers and Supreme Human Alliance. The relationship is reciprocal: the Nest gives her survival and control, while she contributes combat power, instruction, and later reconstruction work after the Curses' departure changes the institution. Hesta's principal demonstrated equipment is an unnamed blade used during the battle for Claerus. She employs it with enough speed and precision to tear through brainwashed Numbers while War Empress and the White Tiger Curse are active.
