Tigerfang

Tigerfang is the expensive Epic longsword Daniel buys for Michael before Michael enters the Origin Expanse. Its passive enhancements and universal Tierless binding make it Michael's first major Artifact, while the later trade to the Zenovia family converts Daniel's gift into the Mythic Summoning Scrolls that accelerate the Untamed territory.

History

Daniel's gift and early survival

Daniel gives Tigerfang to Michael after saying the blade reminded him of his younger brother. Michael initially protests that the fortune should have expanded Daniel's territory, then binds it slowly despite the strain its powerful external enhancement places on his unrefined body. Tigerfang raises Michael's strength, agility, and perception and becomes his hidden safeguard during his first dangerous days in the Origin Expanse. (Chapters 6–11, 33)

Michael uses Tigerfang to kill Fenrir's summoned incarnation and in subsequent fights against monsters and hostile Awakened. Its thin, sharp blade supports precise thrusts and slashes, but its greatest early importance is emotional: the weapon embodies Daniel's willingness to sacrifice resources for Michael's survival. Later Aethyr forms copy Tigerfang's shape, showing that the familiar sword remains a template even after the original leaves Michael's custody. (Chapters 16–29, 462, 513)

Trade to the Zenovia family

Michael ends his War Rune binding and exchanges Tigerfang through Alice for twenty Mythic Summoning Scrolls. Alice stores the sword in her War Rune on behalf of a family unusually eager to acquire a natural Epic Tierless Artifact. The text does not show the Zenovias wielding, selling, destroying, or returning Tigerfang afterward; later references identify it as Daniel's former gift rather than establishing new custody. Abilities and properties

• Tigerfang is Tierless, allowing any War Rune capable of bearing its enhancement to bind it, and its five-star rating makes it Epic quality. (Chapters 6–7)
• Binding provides persistent external enhancement to agility, strength, and perception, but the load initially pushes Michael's body close to its limit. (Chapters 7, 33)
• Its combat function is otherwise that of a thin, exceptionally sharp longsword; the corpus assigns it no named enchantment or ranged attack. (Chapters 16–29)
