King Septimius

King Septimius is the ruler of Agartha and the father of Aurora and Princess Shayna. A guarded monarch who places his hidden kingdom’s laws above outsiders’ convenience, he develops from Lux’s judge and skeptical prospective father-in-law into an allied defender and public participant in his daughter’s marriage.

Biography

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Septimius receives Lux and Gaap as illegal entrants and personally examines the Key of Agartha. He recognizes both its soulbound nature and the fragment of Elysium’s Core within it, yet refuses to let their unusual achievement excuse the trespass. He accepts the High Council’s gladiatorial punishment, watches the pair survive it, and gradually replaces contempt with wary acknowledgment of Lux’s ability and resolve to bring Aurora to the surface. His rule remains exacting, but his conduct at Shayna’s birthday also shows an affectionate father capable of teasing his court and allowing his youngest daughter room to act. That caution extends beyond ceremony. Septimius orders Commander Garen to learn whether Lux crosses the Purple Sea or dies trying, treating the journey as both a test and a matter of royal intelligence. When the Abyss later targets Agartha, he destroys every surface entrance to delay the invasion, accepts that three resident Supremes cannot simply overpower scores of Demigods, and takes the field with his scepter once the tunnels are reopened. Open Heaven’s Gate

Septimius survives the Abyssal war and joins the final alliance when Agartha’s people are carried on the Dragon kingdoms’ floating islands. Lux’s restoration of Queen Bianca visibly changes the proud king: he weeps on seeing his wife alive again and enters the war grateful rather than merely transactional. In the peace that follows, he escorts Aurora to the altar at Lux’s wedding, publicly accepting the union he had once treated as a reckless plan to loose “Misfortune’s Beloved” upon the surface world. Appearance and personality
