Xiuxiu

Xiuxiu is the raven-haired, gentle-mannered attendant who manages Zeus' Jewelry Store and serves in Lan Jue's closest operational team. Raised beside him under Jue Di's authority, she grows from a childhood companion and designated maidservant into a god-ranked pilot and the Amazon called the Asura Blade-Maiden. Her quiet domestic service, military competence, and lifelong love for Lan Jue make her appear to be the steadiest member of his household. That appearance is only part of her history. After her death, evidence she deliberately preserved reveals that she and Mo Xiao earned Hera's trust and orchestrated Hera's murder before the main story began. (Chapters 1, 6, 112–113, 270, 868, 897)

Xiuxiu later sacrifices herself to stop the Violet Prince from killing Lan Jue and Jun'er. The sacrifice is genuine, and her last words and stored confession show repentance, but neither event changes her responsibility for the earlier conspiracy. The novel's surviving characters struggle with whether to continue hating someone who died protecting them; it does not provide an investigation that clears her, undo Hera's death, or establish that protective death automatically atones for murder. Her full arc therefore depends on holding both truths together: she loves and repeatedly protects Lan Jue, and that same possessive, suffering love is given as the motive for a lethal betrayal. Biography

Childhood companion and keeper of the household

Xiuxiu first appears at Zeus' Jewelry Store, where her composed, classical bearing contrasts with the dangerous world beneath the showroom. She remains behind to run the shop when others deploy, waits late to deliver messages to Lan Jue, and joins Ke'er in maintaining his residence according to his habits. These acts are not newly learned employment. Later recollections establish that she was raised by Jue Di as Lan Jue's maidservant and grew up training beside him. She is a few years younger, and Lan Jue comes to regard her as a sister and member of his family. (Chapters 1, 6, 868)

Her household role never excludes command responsibility. Xiuxiu is part of the small crew capable of operating Zeus-1, and during the Moonfiend mission she remains its commanding officer while Lan Jue is ashore. When the Pontiff's Castle trap closes, the rescue plan relies on her judgment aboard the ship while allies draw Uriel away. She trusts that Lan Jue will return rather than abandoning position impulsively. The sequence shows the form her loyalty usually takes: discipline, preparation, and confidence in established roles rather than Mika's more openly aggressive response. (Chapters 72–83)

That stability is also emotionally unequal. Xiuxiu's designated service has become the life she wants, while Lan Jue assumes the household bond can remain familial. The difference stays largely unspoken through the early missions, allowing her devotion to be read as uncomplicated. Only much later does the story reveal that her romantic attachment began in childhood and had already shaped one catastrophic choice before readers met her. (Chapters 506, 868, 880, 897)

Becoming the Asura Blade-Maiden

During Lan Jue's training assessment, Xiuxiu is at the peak of eighth rank and expects to reach ninth level. Her Discipline is Sharpness, concentrated through close combat and especially her right arm, where her Discipline Core forms. In DreamNet she uses the handle Asura Blade-Maiden. Her raw Talent is described as the weakest among the four Amazons, but that comparison does not make her weak: it highlights how far technique, long training, and specialization carry her. By the final war she is explicitly a ninth-level Adept. (Chapters 112–113, 131, 270, 868)

Mecha piloting is the field in which Xiuxiu surpasses the others. She trained alongside Lan Jue from childhood and becomes the only god-ranked pilot among the Amazons, with her mecha Ashura serving as a natural extension of her style. She can also transform her body into a shimmering blade for Lan Jue to wield. In that state her offensive power is exceptional, but the form carries severe limits: she cannot control how the wielder uses her, requires that partner to direct the weapon, and can be injured through it. During a spar, Lan Jue changes his response rather than risk damaging her. Her most powerful technique therefore embodies both trust and dependence. (Chapters 270, 519–520)

Across training and field deployments, Xiuxiu provides close protection, ship weapons support, and mecha expertise. She is not the Amazon with Mika's largest energy reserve or Lin Guoguo's mental powers; her distinction is converting focused Sharpness and practiced synchronization into precise force. That precision later lets her pierce a vastly stronger enemy's Domain long enough to interpose herself, even though she cannot defeat him or survive his blow. (Chapters 270, 757–758, 867–868)

Confession of love and the refusal of another life

Lan Jue eventually tries to release Xiuxiu from the identity built around serving him. He tells her she is family and a little sister, and urges her to live independently rather than spend her entire life as his attendant. Xiuxiu refuses. She says that remaining at his side is all she wants and that being deprived of that purpose would leave her with nothing to live for. She embraces him, and Zhou Qianlin, witnessing the scene without its full context, misunderstands their relationship. Lan Jue recognizes that Xiuxiu's feelings run deepest among the Amazons, but he does not return them as romantic love. (Chapter 506)

She nevertheless continues to serve after his bond with Qianlin becomes central. Lan Jue later reflects that he found homes for some of the other women but never did so for Xiuxiu because she was already with him; he plans to withdraw in part so that the Amazons can build lives not organized around his. When Lan Jue and Qianlin are restored to one another, Xiuxiu accepts that she has no romantic chance with him, and the narration emphasizes her disappointment. Acceptance in the present does not retroactively remove the choices she made during his relationship with Hera. (Chapters 795, 801)

After Xiuxiu's death, Lin Guoguo describes how long that attachment had lasted. As a child, Xiuxiu cast herself as Lan Jue's bride in their games. Hera's relationship with him caused Xiuxiu sustained pain; after Hera died, she hoped she might finally be with Lan Jue, only to see him fall in love with Qianlin. Guoguo recalls her drinking after Qianlin appeared. This testimony helps explain the emotional history, but it is a friend's retrospective account, not evidence that Xiuxiu had a claim on Lan Jue or Hera. (Chapter 880)

The concealed conspiracy against Hera

Hera's murder occurs before the novel's opening and remains unresolved for most of the story. Evidence initially indicates that someone familiar to Hera hacked her communicator and lured her to a planet that was then destroyed. The Clairvoyant cannot identify the culprit, while Lan Jue continues to believe the people closest to him are loyal. Xiuxiu remains inside that trusted circle throughout the investigation and subsequent years, never publicly disclosing her involvement while alive. (Chapter 529)

The truth emerges only from the storage device Xiuxiu leaves for Lan Jue as she dies. Its information states that Xiuxiu collaborated with Mo Xiao: together they gained Hera's confidence and orchestrated her murder. The narration gives Xiuxiu's reason as love and links the plan to the shared suffering of Xiuxiu and Mo Xiao. When Hua Li falsely claims responsibility, Mo Xiao denies his confession and states that she killed Hera, conceived the plan, and arranged it. The exact mechanics remain incomplete, but Mo Xiao's claimed planning role does not negate the device's proof that Xiuxiu knowingly participated in the conspiracy. (Chapter 897)

Chronologically, then, Xiuxiu's betrayal is not a late turn against Lan Jue during the alien war. It is an earlier crime, concealed throughout her visible years of service and exposed after her death. Her later loyalty can coexist with remorse and change, but it cannot make the conspiracy accidental. The story describes love as motive, not as exoneration, and leaves the exact mechanics and relative culpability of the conspirators incompletely specified. (Chapters 529, 897)

Sacrifice before confession

During the final alien campaign, the Violet Prince attacks Middle Heaven and reaches simultaneously for Jun'er and Lan Jue. Lan Jue turns to shield Jun'er, leaving himself open. Xiuxiu forces her Sharpness through the enemy's Domain and places her body between Lan Jue and the incoming strike. The blow is beyond what her ninth-level cultivation can survive and consumes her vitality. She cannot defeat the Violet Prince; what she accomplishes is a momentary interception that saves Lan Jue and helps prevent the command structure from collapsing at a critical point. (Chapters 867–869)

As her body dissolves into violet motes, Xiuxiu says she is in darkness and cannot see, calls Lan Jue “boss,” and tells him that she does not deserve his grief. She asks forgiveness, expresses repentance, wishes for his happiness, and gives him the storage device. Her words do not name Hera in the moment, so Lan Jue experiences the death before understanding the confession. His grief and rage are immediate, and Qianlin has to pull him back from losing himself. The later contents of the device give Xiuxiu's final apology its withheld context. (Chapters 868–869)

The other Amazons mourn her as a sister and affirm that she died protecting Lan Jue. After learning the truth, Lan Jue chooses in the pressure of the final crisis to leave the past in the past. Qianlin retains animosity toward Xiuxiu and Hua Li but reflects that both died trying to make things right and protecting Lan Jue. These are the survivors' emotional responses to sacrifice and repentance, not a finding that Xiuxiu was innocent. Her final status is unambiguous: she is dead, her body having dissolved, and the novel shows no resurrection or surviving spirit. Later references are posthumous. (Chapters 879–880, 897, 902)

Appearance and personality

Xiuxiu has long raven hair and a gentle, classically elegant manner. She is soft-spoken and attentive to routine, readily associated with the quiet work of keeping the store and residence ordered. Under that reserve is a highly trained combatant who can command a ship, pilot at god rank, and commit herself instantly to another person's defense. Her calm should not be mistaken for passivity; much of her competence appears as exact execution rather than display. (Chapters 1, 6, 74–83, 270)

Her devotion is both her clearest virtue and her destructive flaw. She provides Lan Jue with decades of companionship and ultimately dies for him and Jun'er. She also defines her life so completely through him that she rejects an independent future and participates in Hera's murder when love becomes jealousy and suffering. Her final confession shows awareness that she has forfeited an uncomplicated claim on his grief. The novel permits repentance and continued love without rewriting the choice for which she repents. Sharpness and blade transformation

Sharpness concentrates Xiuxiu's power into piercing and cutting force, with her right arm as an important focus. At full transformation she becomes a blade that another fighter, most notably Lan Jue, can wield. The form greatly increases their combined offense but transfers agency to the wielder and exposes Xiuxiu herself to damage. Her ability to penetrate the edge of the Violet Prince's Domain is a final demonstration of precision rather than parity: she creates an opening against superior power, but the effort and ensuing strike kill her. God-ranked piloting and ship command

Xiuxiu's lifelong mecha training makes her a god-ranked pilot even while her genetic potential and Discipline growth lag behind Lan Jue's and the other Amazons'. She is comfortable commanding Zeus-1 and managing its weapons and defenses, giving the household a specialist who can coordinate technology with Adept combat. By the final war she has reached ninth level as an Adept, but she never approaches the Violet Prince's Infinite-level power in a direct contest. (Chapters 74–83, 270, 757–758, 868)

• Lan Jue: Xiuxiu grows up beside Lan Jue, serves him, fights with him, and loves him romantically. He regards her as family and a younger sister. Her love motivates both long loyalty and her admitted role in Hera's murder; she dies protecting him and leaves him the evidence of her guilt.
• Zhou Qianlin: Qianlin initially misunderstands Xiuxiu's embrace with Lan Jue and later becomes the partner whose place confirms that Xiuxiu's hopes will not be fulfilled. After Xiuxiu's death, Qianlin remains angry about Hera while recognizing the significance of Xiuxiu's sacrifice.
• Mo Xiao: The posthumous record identifies Mo Xiao as Xiuxiu's collaborator in gaining Hera's trust and orchestrating her murder. Mo Xiao explicitly says she conceived and arranged the plan and killed Hera; the exact operational acts performed by each woman are not fully reconstructed.
