Vermillion Death

Vermillion Death is the fire staff inherited by Xiao Qi with the Vermillion Bird’s power. It channels her new class magic and greatly amplifies fire damage.

History

The Vermillion inheritance enters battle

Xiao Qi first reveals Vermillion Death while defending the unfinished Ling Tian City from Yan Huang Alliance. Flying above the army on Xi Ling, she summons the crimson, irregular staff and casts fire down into the massed attackers. She later points it at an approaching airborne squadron and continues using it after reviving from a fatal counterattack, making the staff the visible focus for the destructive power she received through the Vermillion Bird’s sacrifice. Abilities and properties

• Divine remains: The staff is shaped from the Vermillion Bird’s bones and forged with its soul flames. The corpus does not describe a separate crafting process, later reforging, or a wielder other than Xiao Qi. (Chapter 560)
• Fire amplification: Vermillion Death significantly increases the damage of any Fire Magic attack and serves as the casting focus for Xiao Qi’s flame projectiles and larger-area magic. Exact numerical bonuses are not supplied. (Chapters 560–562)
• Channel for Dazzling Red Lotus: Xiao Qi raises the staff when preparing the forbidden large-scale spell. The staff does not remove that ability’s level warning, indiscriminate area, or danger to allies, so amplification is not equivalent to protection or control. (Chapter 562)
