Ghost
Ghost is a fast, powerful Ironfang in the Lupus pack. Sent to eliminate the weakened Howlers before sunrise, he uses attacks on civilians and an invisibility item to force his targets into a fight they cannot yet win.
Biography
Hunting the weakened Howlers
Ghost responds to the crisis at Ruin Castle by accepting Galark's order to fetch Ylva, then later carries out his assigned part of the pack's assault in Slough. Knowing the Howlers cannot transform until sunrise, he attacks civilians to draw them out and identifies Midwak as a principal target. He openly explains that a better-equipped second wave is coming, intending to exhaust or kill the Howlers before it arrives. His loyalty is to the pack's promised victory, but his willingness to murder bystanders exposes how far that goal has displaced his claim that werewolves seek recognition and freedom. (Chapters 1387, 1408–1410)
Ghost overwhelms Midwak, Olivia, Xin Clove, Kevin, and Park, then activates his cloth to attack invisibly. Midwak anticipates the item and sprays blood over it, briefly revealing Ghost, but even the combined group cannot defeat his full transformation. A howl interrupts him before he can finish them, and Marie, newly transformed as a Luna, arrives with protective lunar armor. Ghost's claws cannot penetrate it; Marie crushes him beneath one foot, and Midwak later removes the invisibility cloth from his corpse. (Chapters 1437–1441)
Appearance and personality
Ghost wears a mask or cloth over his face and displays a cruel smile when revealing the pack's plan. He is fast, agile, proud of his Ironfang rank, and convinced he would become the strongest among them. He claims reluctance to hurt humans, yet deliberately escalates from assault to lethal public violence, making the claim incompatible with his choices. (Chapters 1408–1410, 1437–1439)
Powers and abilities
As an Ironfang, Ghost has formidable werewolf strength, speed, durability, scent, claws, and a full transformation that overpowers several partially restored Howlers at once. He can launch hardened nails as projectiles, change direction with unusual grace, and move quickly enough to strike multiple targets before they can follow him. His raw power lets him resist Olivia's whip and remain superior after his camouflage is compromised. (Chapters 1409–1410, 1437–1439)
Ghost's specialized cloth expands around his transformed body and removes visible outline and scent, allowing precise surprise attacks. It does not make him intangible: a caught weapon can locate his hand, physical contact still restrains him, and blood or other material clinging to the cloth reveals his position. The item becomes useless once stained, and Ghost discards it before Marie's defense proves too strong for his claws. (Chapters 1437–1440)
