Mo Yang Yu is a mage of the Mo Yang Clan who rejects an arranged marriage, escapes into an adventuring life, and builds the Dong Bo family with Dong Bo Lie. Her capture and century-long sentence separate her from her sons when they are children, making her rescue one of Dong Bo Xue Ying's defining early goals. She remains consequential after that crisis as the parent who restrains his retaliation and welcomes Yu Jing Qiu into the family. Her name is unambiguous in the local evidence. Snow Eagle Territory and Black-Wind Cliff

Mo Yang Yu grows up in the powerful Mo Yang Clan. At thirteen, she selects the enslaved lion-man Tong San when the clan's heirs choose servants; her later habit of bringing him outside the oppressive household turns their formal relationship into a lifelong personal loyalty. When she is twenty-four, the clan arranges for her to marry a man said to be 152 years old from another major family. She refuses the bargain and escapes. Tong San follows, and she spends subsequent years adventuring with him, Dong Bo Lie, and Zong Ling, repeatedly relying on them in life-and-death situations. She discloses her dangerous clan history rather than conceal the burden from her companions, and she and Dong Bo Lie eventually become a couple. Pregnancy ends her itinerant life: they settle in Dong Bo Lie's home region, purchase a noble title and territory, and raise their children in Snow Eagle Territory. (Chapters 1, 8, and 29)

In the household Mo Yang Yu combines magical authority with ordinary maternal care. Soldiers regard the purple-robed mage with reverence, yet her first domestic scene shows her feeding Xue Ying, Qing Shi, Dong Bo Lie, and Tong San food she cooked herself. The report of Xue Ying's apparent death at Black-Wind Cliff breaks that discipline. The message is deliberately sent by Mo Yang Chen Bai to provoke her; grief and anger make her attempt to force a breakthrough to Silver Moon rank so she can fight her way out. Because her mind is chaotic and impatient, the spell matrices collapse, her magic power surges out of control, and her soul is injured. She loses the power to maintain the cell, her body and hair age under confinement, and the guards come to regard her obsessive study as madness. Xue Ying's return as a Transcendent reverses the physical imprisonment but does not erase its effects. At Snowrock Castle she initially fails to recognize the grown Qing Shi, whom she last saw at two, but reaches for him and rebuilds their bond. Appearance and personality

Mo Yang Yu is initially a purple-gowned woman whose presence commands the respect of Snow Eagle Territory's soldiers. The corpus gives no exact height, build, eye color, or early hair color. Her purple robe is later identified as a refiner item that can be cleaned through World Energy. After twenty years of imprisonment, failed magic, and worry, her skin is dull and wrinkled, her hair is dirty and snow-white, and the humid cavern has fallen into disrepair. Xue Ying's spiritual liquid visibly reverses much of that damage: the wrinkles fade, her skin regains its glow, her eyes brighten, and black strands return to her hair.
