Huo Poyun

Huo Poyun is the direct disciple of Huo Rulie, the complete successor of the Flame God Realm's Golden Crow remnant spirit, and the first ruler to unite the realm's three great sects beneath one throne. His friendship with Yun Che is transformed by admiration, jealousy, guilt, and wounded pride, yet when the Primal Chaos faces an enemy beyond its limits, Huo Poyun consumes his entire existence in the Golden Crow's ultimate flame and helps create the opening that kills Mo Beichen.

Biography

The last Golden Crow successor

Huo Poyun first enters the Snow Song Realm as Huo Rulie's newly accepted direct disciple. At twenty-four, he is only at the fifth level of the Divine Tribulation Realm, but his profound cultivation conceals a unique inheritance: the Golden Crow remnant spirit has ended its existence by granting him its origin blood and complete Divine Soul. He can use Golden Crow flames of a purity that suppresses Yun Che's own bloodline and has already touched the tenth stage of the Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World, an attainment that eluded almost every senior in the Flame God Realm's history. His combination of courtesy, fierce dignity, and singular focus makes him the shared hope of the Golden Crow, Phoenix, and Vermillion Bird sects rather than merely the champion of his own faction. His first contest with Yun Che establishes both his power and their initial equality. Huo Poyun defeats Mu Hanyi's Frozen End formation without moving from his position, then creates the one-sun form of Nine Suns Heaven's Fury. The technique exhausts him completely, while Yun Che's immunity to ordinary Golden Crow fire lets the weaker cultivator endure it unharmed and claim the wager. Huo Poyun accepts defeat instead of making excuses. Yun Che, recognizing that an elemental mismatch rather than inferior strength decided the result, lifts him up and treats him as a future rival; Huo Poyun answers with gratitude and a promise to win someday. Their mutual appreciation becomes Yun Che's first uncomplicated friendship in the God Realm. (Chapters 1003–1009)

The Flame God sect masters intend to use the ancient horned dragon's resources to accelerate Huo Poyun into the Divine Spirit Realm before the Profound God Convention. When the hunt collapses into disaster, he accepts that the Eternal Heaven opportunity may be lost and promises Huo Rulie that he will reach Divine Master through his own effort. Yun Che and Mu Xuanyin nevertheless secure the dragon's corpse and share half of it with the Flame God Realm. The three sects use that gift and Huo Poyun's special inheritance to raise him from fifth-level Divine Tribulation to seventh-level Divine Spirit, turning a remote ambition into a credible chance to enter the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm. The Conferred God Battle and three thousand years

Huo Poyun vindicates the three sects' investment at the Profound God Convention. He finishes the preliminary stages among the leading candidates, becomes the first young practitioner from a middle star realm to enter the Conferred God Battle, and defeats the stronger Lu Chenyuan by igniting and controlling Golden Crow fire faster than the Shrouding Sky heir can form a defense. The result earns praise even from the Dragon Monarch and promises the Flame God Realm a future as an upper star realm. Huo Poyun remains supportive when Yun Che unexpectedly joins him, encouraging his friend instead of resenting the attention that Yun Che begins to attract. (Chapters 1139–1168)

That confidence breaks when Jun Xilei destroys his full attack and pierces him with a single sword stroke. The physical injury is treatable, but the instant defeat strikes directly at the Golden Crow pride on which he has built his identity. Yun Che later humiliates Jun Xilei in return and repeatedly helps Huo Poyun confront the resulting heart demon. Huo Poyun admits that the acclaim Yun Che wins with Golden Crow flame has stirred jealousy in him, while Yun Che explains that Huo Poyun's complete inheritance still has far greater unrealized potential. Their promised duel after the Eternal Heaven interval gives Huo Poyun a goal that restores his determination without pretending the insecurity never existed. (Chapters 1182–1203 and 1211–1216)

Huo Poyun earns one of the thousand places within the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm and cultivates for three thousand internal years. Yun Che misses entry, so the friendly contest never occurs on equal terms. Huo Poyun emerges as a fourth-level Divine Master, a transformation great enough to make him one of the strongest rulers outside the king realms and to raise Flame God into an upper star realm. The achievement also isolates him from former companions who can now approach him only with reverence. His cultivation and bearing have matured, but the emotional wounds Yun Che once helped him control have not vanished; the greater distance between them makes those wounds more dangerous. Divine Master, broken friendship, and a hidden rescue

After Yun Che's presumed death, Huo Poyun repeatedly visits the Snow Song Realm to help suppress profound-beast disturbances and to see Mu Feixue, whom he has loved since the convention. When he encounters a disguised Yun Che beside her, jealousy drives him to reveal Yun Che's survival to Luo Changsheng, knowing that Luo Guxie wants Yun Che dead. He regrets the message and later shields Yun Che with his own body when Luo Guxie attacks, but the intended consequence cannot be undone. Once Yun Che identifies him as the informant, Huo Poyun confesses and discovers that the supposed secret relationship between Yun Che and Mu Feixue never existed. Yun Che ends their friendship, leaving Huo Poyun alive with both guilt and the knowledge that his grievance rested on a false assumption. (Chapters 1412–1414 and 1423–1430)

Huo Poyun does not abandon the responsibilities his advancement created. He becomes the new Flame God Realm King, publicly declares that an attack on the weakened Snow Song Realm is an attack on Flame God, and keeps the neighboring realm safe from opportunists after Mu Xuanyin's disappearance. His royal robes bear the symbols of all three divine-flame sects, reflecting his decision to govern them equally despite his Golden Crow origin. At the same time, he reaches fifth-level Divine Master and continues cultivating within the God Burying Inferno Prison, deepening a flame inheritance whose ultimate potential is still greater than his formal realm. When Yun Che is exposed as a devil and the divine regions order his death, Huo Poyun finds him unconscious beside Luo Changsheng. He feigns caution, strikes Luo Changsheng without warning, and flees with Yun Che even after being threatened with the destruction of the Flame God Realm. With aid from Jun Xilei and Jun Wuming, he reaches the Glazed Light Realm and entrusts Yun Che to Shui Yingyue, asking that his role remain secret and telling Yun Che to escape north. Huo Poyun insists afterward that this rescue cancels any debt between them, but the choice proves that jealousy and resentment never erase the friend he once valued. (Chapters 1607 and 1707–1708)

A realm king beneath Emperor Yun's shadow

As realm king, Huo Poyun continues visiting Mu Feixue, but her devotion to Yun Che leaves no place for him. She tells him that her love does not depend on being returned and rejects every argument based on Yun Che's other partners, devil identity, or apparent death. Huo Poyun's inability to accept the answer reveals that his fixation is no longer simply romantic. His grief is entangled with the widening inequality between himself and Yun Che: the friend who once stood beside him has surpassed his realm, eclipsed his Golden Crow flame, and become the person Mu Feixue chooses without expectation of reward. When Yun Che returns as ruler of the Northern Divine Region, Huo Poyun refuses to submit and attacks him in the Snow Song Realm. Yun Che extinguishes his flames without a clash, while Chi Wuyao reveals the hidden memory of Huo Poyun saving Yun Che. His attempted duel is exposed as a plan to die by Yun Che's hand and leave the truth behind, forcing Yun Che to regret killing his savior. Yun Che refuses that ending and orders the Flame God sect masters to keep him alive. Huo Poyun also refuses Emperor Yun's grand coronation months later, risking his realm again because pride will not let him kneel to the person against whom he measures his own worth. Huo Rulie finally confronts him at the Ancient God Burying Inferno Prison, accusing him of sacrificing the realm's future to a private obsession. Huo Poyun accepts the rebuke and says he has put that obsession aside. He enters a Golden Crow barrier not to challenge Yun Che, but to complete his inheritance by comprehending Nine Heavens Cry of Dead Crow and Shattered Jade, a forbidden flame that burns its user with the world. He promises that he would use it only for the Flame God Realm and would accept any punishment needed to protect his people. The decision marks a genuine recovery of purpose, though the art he chooses to learn carries a terminal price. (Chapters 1906–1907)

The Golden Crow's final flame

Mo Beichen's arrival tests that recovered resolve. Huo Poyun appears to submit with the other Divine Masters, and Mo Beichen recognizes the extraordinary divine presence within him. The Half-God declares that Huo Poyun could transcend the limits of the Primal Chaos, offers to take him as a page, and promises a future path toward becoming an Abyssal Knight. Huo Poyun kneels and accepts with convincing excitement, but he has already told the three sect masters that he will never truly bow to the foreign conqueror. The performance places him close to Mo Beichen while preserving the option to act when resistance seems impossible. (Chapters 1949–1953)

When Yun Che's God Ash and Cang Shitian's sacrifice still cannot break Mo Beichen's defense, Huo Poyun decides that the moment for Shattered Jade has arrived. Yan Wancang and Yan Juehai beg him to choose the limitless future the Abyss has offered, while Huo Rulie releases him with the assurance that he remains his master's greatest pride. Huo Poyun burns his body, bloodline, soul, faith, and complete Golden Crow inheritance into a manifestation of the ancient divine beast. The resulting fire exceeds Mo Beichen's power, consumes the Half-God's defensive formation, and leaves Yun Che unharmed, enabling Yun Che and Cang Shitian to complete the killing blow. Nothing of Huo Poyun's body remains. His tomb is placed before the Ancient God Burying Inferno Prison, where he received the Golden Crow's blessing and wished to rest, and his death leaves the Flame God Realm without a king or a surviving Golden Crow successor. Yun Che later brings Feng Xue’er to renew the realm's divine-flame future, but neither the new Phoenix inheritance nor imperial protection replaces Huo Poyun himself. He is remembered across the divine regions as the realm king who ignited the Golden Crow's final divine flame to save the world, while Yun Che remembers a friend whose love, resentment, rescue, and sacrifice repeatedly defied every simple judgment. Appearance and personality

Huo Poyun is introduced as a young man not yet twenty-five, carrying a fiery aura purer than that of the stronger Flame God disciples beside him. His initial manner is gentle and courteous, but stimulation of the Golden Crow bloodline turns his eyes and presence fierce, proud, and openly combative. After three thousand internal years, his physique is more mature and his gaze has lost its youthful transparency, gaining the heavy calm of a Divine Master and future sovereign. As Flame God Realm King, he wears red robes marked with the Golden Crow, Phoenix, and Vermillion Bird symbols. The choice visually rejects rule by one sect and presents him as the common ruler of all three traditions. He usually speaks without the arrogance expected from an upper realm king and continues returning ordinary courtesies, though flashes of fire behind his pupils reveal the immense pressure and pride held beneath that restraint. Huo Poyun is sincere, dutiful, and capable of extraordinary courage, but also deeply vulnerable to comparisons involving the qualities he treats as the foundation of his identity. Defeat, unequal acclaim, and unreturned affection can become heart demons because his pride and emotional intensity do not allow easy detachment. He commits an unforgivable betrayal during one such collapse, then risks everything to save the same friend. His final development does not erase the contradiction; it brings his strongest traits back under conscious choice, allowing devotion to his realm and world to outweigh envy, fear, and the promise of personal transcendence. Abilities and cultivation

Golden Crow bloodline and Divine Soul

The Flame God Realm's Golden Crow remnant spirit gives Huo Poyun a complete inheritance at the cost of its own existence. His origin blood is richer than Yun Che's nine-drop inheritance, and the corresponding Divine Soul grants an unusually complete affinity with the Golden Crow's flames, will, and laws. Mo Beichen identifies him as a rare God Bearer whose potential is restricted by the ceiling of the Primal Chaos rather than by his inheritance; in an unrestricted world, he could eventually have surpassed ordinary realm kings and god emperors. That inheritance does not make him all-powerful. His ability to express it still depends on cultivation, understanding, emotional control, and the cost of the technique being used. At fifth-level Divine Tribulation, one sun of Nine Suns Heaven's Fury empties his profound energy. At fourth-level Divine Master, Luo Guxie breaks his emergency fire domain and injures him despite his willingness to shield Yun Che. Yun Che can later extinguish his Golden Crow flame through superior law comprehension, demonstrating that bloodline richness alone cannot overcome a fundamental difference in elemental authority. Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World

Huo Poyun masters the Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World to a degree unprecedented for his age. Yellow Springs Ashes can destroy a complete Frozen End domain from within, while his linked fire lotuses, instantaneous combustion, flame blades, and Golden Annihilation let him attack, defend, and eliminate stronger opponents before they establish control. His flames have exceptional persistence and destructive force, but his most distinctive talent is precision: he can make the notoriously violent Golden Crow fire ignite and change form with almost no delay. (Chapters 1004–1008, 1164–1168, and 1412)

Nine Suns Heaven's Fury is the record's tenth stage. Huo Poyun initially manifests only one artificial sun, an attack with power far beyond his fifth-level Divine Tribulation cultivation but a burden that leaves him unable to stand. By the time he prepares to cross the forbidden Golden Crow barrier as realm king, he has cultivated Nine Suns Heaven's Fury to completion. The achievement greatly expands its scope and control, but it still cannot overcome Yun Che's higher authority over flame, nor does it remove the formal limits of Huo Poyun's profound realm. Nine Heavens Cry of Dead Crow and Shattered Jade

Nine Heavens Cry of Dead Crow and Shattered Jade is the terminal Golden Crow flame preserved beyond the ordinary complete record. Huo Poyun enters the forbidden barrier to comprehend it after completing Nine Suns Heaven's Fury. The art does not merely consume profound energy: it uses the practitioner's body, bloodline, soul, faith, and existence as fuel, recreating the presence and divine fire of the ancient Golden Crow for one final attack. There is no survivable form demonstrated and no body remains for recovery afterward. (Chapters 1906–1907 and 1957–1962)

Against Mo Beichen, Shattered Jade produces power greater than the Half-God, Yun Che's God Ash state, or Cang Shitian's unstable sacrificial form. Its fire melts the Half-God's defense and somehow excludes Yun Che from its destruction, but it does not kill Mo Beichen by itself; Cang Shitian must continue restraining him and Yun Che must break the final formation and complete the attack. The technique is therefore Huo Poyun's greatest power and absolute limit at once—a world-saving opening purchased with irreversible self-erasure. (Chapters 1957–1958)

Cultivation, combat limits, and final state

Huo Poyun advances from fifth-level Divine Tribulation to seventh-level Divine Spirit through the ancient horned dragon resources and the three sects' cultivation method. Three thousand internal years then bring him to fourth-level Divine Master, and he reaches fifth level by the departure of the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor. By his final battle he is described retrospectively among the late-stage Divine Masters, although no later exact numbered level is stated. His formal cultivation supplies the energy and survivability required to wield his inheritance, but his actual threat consistently exceeds his level because of divine blood, soul, and fire-law mastery. His combat record also defines clear boundaries. He can defeat stronger Divine Spirit opponents through speed and flame control, but Jun Xilei's sword art overwhelms him before his fire can bridge a three-level gap. He can weaken an injured ninth-level Divine Master's surprise attack but not block it outright. Against Yun Che's later law authority or Mo Beichen's Half-God power, ordinary Golden Crow techniques cannot decide the battle. At the latest point Huo Poyun is dead, his late-stage cultivation and complete inheritance expended together in Shattered Jade; only his scorched battlefield, tomb, and historical legacy remain. • Yun Che: Huo Poyun's first true friend is also the person against whom he measures his power, recognition, and worth. Their bond passes through sincere support, jealousy, an attempted indirect killing, a secret rescue, and Huo Poyun's effort to die by Yun Che's hand. In the end he spends his existence opening the path for Yun Che to kill Mo Beichen, leaving Yun Che to remember him as a friend whose choices could never be reduced to either love or hatred. • Huo Rulie: Huo Rulie treats Poyun as both treasured disciple and son, investing the Golden Crow Sect's future in him and taking open pride in every advance. He also delivers the harshest condemnation when Huo Poyun endangers the realm through obsession. At the final battle, Huo Rulie releases him to make his own choice and tells him that no disappointment has erased the fact that he remains his master's greatest pride. • Mu Feixue: Huo Poyun's long infatuation with Mu Feixue survives three thousand internal years, but she never returns it and remains devoted to Yun Che without requiring his love in return. His refusal to accept that answer helps turn insecurity into betrayal. Her final rejection eventually forces him to confront that the obsession is rooted as much in comparison with Yun Che as in any shared bond with her. (Chapters 1136–1138, 1412–1414, and 1707–1709)

• Mu Xuanyin: Their first meeting places Huo Poyun beneath the terrifying pressure of the Snow Song Realm King, but her horned-dragon hunt ultimately provides the resource that transforms his future. Years later he helps protect her realm in her absence and witnesses her true power against Luo Guxie. Her relationship with Yun Che and the Snow Song Realm becomes one of the forces tying Huo Poyun's personal conflict to his duties as a neighboring ruler. • Luo Changsheng: Huo Poyun uses Luo Changsheng's hatred to expose Yun Che's survival during a jealous collapse. When the divine regions later hunt Yun Che, he reverses that choice by ambushing Luo Changsheng and carrying Yun Che to safety despite being pursued. • Jun Xilei: Jun Xilei's single-stroke victory at the convention shatters Huo Poyun's confidence in his proudest inheritance.
