Bloodblade Disc

The Bloodblade Disc is a lightning-lineage Tribulation treasure built around escape, defense, and a set of exceptionally sharp flying blades. An unnamed Seventh Essence Soul Tribulation Eminence originally made it to protect a disciple; Ancestral Master Archean Eon later recovered it, and Meng Chuan eventually chose and refined it as his sole intrinsic treasure. Although its runic arrays are not designed for offense, its compatibility with Meng Chuan's speed-focused cultivation makes it a central weapon, defensive system, movement platform, and source of insight throughout the demon war and his early outer-realm career.

History

A protective inheritance reaches Archean Mountain

The disc begins as a personal safeguard rather than the original weapon of its maker. Near the end of his life, a Seventh Essence Soul Tribulation Eminence refines it for a disciple who has already become an Imperial Lord. The protection cannot save that disciple when an enemy kills him through an Essence Soul technique transmitted by karma, and the abandoned treasure is later found by Ancestral Master Archean Eon during his travels in the River of Spacetime. That history explains both its unusually high workmanship and a limitation the story later emphasizes: formidable bodily and Essence Soul defense does not completely sever karma. Archean Mountain preserves the Bloodblade Disc until Meng Chuan is allowed to choose two exceptional treasures for the escalating demon war. He selects it over two alternatives with stronger built-in attacks because faster flight will let him find more underground demon monarchs and reach endangered Godfiends sooner. Li Guan, Qin Wu, and Luo Tang make an exception to normal sect rules by entrusting a Tribulation treasure to a Regis Godfiend, while still identifying it as an inheritance that must ordinarily return to the sect at the end of its holder's lifespan. Meng Chuan then spends more than two months using the Intrinsic Artifact Refining Art to fuse part of his Essence Soul with the disc and another period studying it before returning to battle. Turning speed into wartime reach

The choice immediately changes the scale at which Meng Chuan can operate. Standing on the enlarged disc, he initially travels about sixty kilometers per second, while the treasure's resistance to soil and rock lets him conduct high-speed underground sweeps with little additional drag. He uses that reach to cross nearly five hundred kilometers in six seconds during one rescue, then sends a Bloodblade from fifty kilometers away to kill the demon threatening Mao Feng. At Yushang City, the same combination of travel speed and remote attack lets him arrive before a fifth Firmament demon monarch can kill Marchioness Mooncherish and destroy the attacker with several concentrated Bloodblade strikes. Speed therefore serves his stated purpose: it converts one Godfiend's strength into reinforcements and reconnaissance across an entire dynasty. (Chapters 351–355)

The Three Terminal Formation demonstrates why the disc was made for survival rather than merely travel. When the demon-sage team traps Meng Chuan, he combines the Bloodblades' defensive array with the Cloud Dragon Snake Movement Technique to hide in a deep void layer. Eighteen blades form a self-contained defensive system that blocks the formation's weakened physical aftershocks and greatly reduces an Essence Soul illusion before it reaches him. Meng Chuan can divide the blades between attack and protection, killing Longswim and North Sense's avatar while continuing to withstand the trap; he then uses their speed to impede Patriarch Yellow Oscillate until Qin Wu arrives. The incident preserves the reconnaissance Godfiend whom the formation was built to eliminate, though Yellow Oscillate's defenses also show that sharpness alone does not guarantee a killing blow against an experienced demon sage. Growth from the human world to the outer realm

Meng Chuan's own breakthroughs progressively unlock more of the disc instead of changing the treasure itself. His strengthened electromagnetic domain accelerates Bloodblades over a long circuit, raising their speed and impact severalfold, and his later cultivation lets him control twenty-four blades rather than eighteen. He uses the expanded formation to shield fellow Godfiends inside enemy arrays and accelerates the blades to pressure Monarch Peacock. These applications depend on interaction with his domains and technique realm: the disc supplies the sharp material, flight and defensive arrays, while Meng Chuan supplies the force and offensive laws. Its protection can be spread across a large area, but doing so weakens the formation compared with concentrating it near the wielder. (Chapters 372–373, 400, and 418–430)

The World Gap campaign also exposes practical counters. Holy Lady Strings withstands Bloodblade strikes with a void spider silk robe even after her control is disrupted, and Meng Chuan admits that his technique realm cannot turn the disc into a decisive answer against her defense. The Origins of Wind later collapses the eighteen-blade formation during his final dash toward an azure egg and pulverizes his legs, forcing his Blood Droplet body—not the treasure—to recover the damage. At extreme speed, his mind and movement technique can also lose precise control in a cluttered battlefield. These failures distinguish the disc's strong specialization from invulnerability. When Meng Chuan first enters the outer realm, the Bloodblade Disc is the most valuable treasure he carries. Chaos Hole Quintessential Essence and the outer realm's different conditions extend the useful reach of his Bloodblades, while temporal acceleration pushes them toward light speed during his fight with alien Supremacies. Even then, an opponent able to freeze and shatter the surrounding void slows and separates the blades until Meng Chuan invokes a stronger technique. After gaining a deceased Eminence's trove, he identifies the disc as a relatively top-grade Sixth Tribulation treasure: less valuable than the Seventh Tribulation treasures he has found, but unusually useful to weaker cultivators and still inseparable from him because of intrinsic refinement. A mature intrinsic treasure

By Meng Chuan's Imperial Lord-level battles, the disc can divide into its maximum of thirty-six Bloodblades. During Emperor Roc's pursuit, they rapidly close around Meng Chuan as one layer in a combined defense with his Lightning Domain, Chaos Hole domain, Body-Protecting Peacock Robe, and Nightcloud Robe. Emperor Roc's Void Impalement Spear breaks through the thirty-six-blade formation and the next defensive layers, proving that even the disc's mature defense can be penetrated by a sufficiently powerful and compatible Sixth Tribulation attack. The remaining layers and Meng Chuan's body keep that breach from becoming fatal. (Chapters 527–528)

Meng Chuan later drives the blades with Fifth Tribulation laws and temporal acceleration. Against Old Fiend Black Wind, ordinary light-speed Bloodblade attacks pass through the black wind without injuring him, so Meng Chuan combines their accumulated force into the Power of Annihilation and turns them into destructive black beams. Against Palace Lord Snowjade, he splits the thirty-six blades between attack and interception, but Snowjade's movement limits how many can strike at once and his defense makes the disc alone a modest threat. The two battles show the mature treasure as a flexible carrier for Meng Chuan's laws rather than a source of equivalent offensive laws of its own. (Chapters 564–566)

As Meng Chuan gains wealth, he buys other Sixth Tribulation treasures whose offensive runes make them stronger attack weapons for his Essence Soul avatars, while Demon Slayer remains more compatible after being nurtured with him since youth. The Bloodblade Disc nevertheless remains his intrinsic artifact and accompanies his outer-realm true body. Before the dangerous Fiend Mountain expedition, he deliberately leaves it behind along with his most personally important treasures because death there could otherwise cost him the disc. This is its latest explicit state in the supplied corpus: intact, still intrinsically bound to Meng Chuan, but not carried into that particular ruin. (Chapters 555–556, 575, 579, and 591)

Abilities and properties

Construction, refinement, and scaling

At rest, the treasure resembles an ordinary blood-red metal disc. Quintessential Essence reveals dense surface runes, lightning, and a concealed aura; the materials are exceptionally valuable and compatible with the lightning lineage. A Regis Godfiend needs a fourth-level Essence Soul and the Intrinsic Artifact Refining Art to master it. Refinement places Essence Soul thoughts inside the treasure until part of the wielder's Essence Soul fuses with it, making control feel like moving part of the body. A Godfiend can have only one intrinsic treasure, and losing or destroying it after refinement can severely damage the Essence Soul, memory, and perception. (Chapter 349)

The disc's accessible formation scales with the wielder. A Regis Godfiend can divide it into eighteen curved, double-edged Bloodblades; a Creation Supremacy can control twenty-four, and an Imperial Lord can control thirty-six. Thirty-six remains the stated maximum even for a Tribulation Eminence. Higher cultivation and deeper comprehension expose and activate more of the runic structure, improving flight and defense, but attack power continues to depend primarily on the wielder's cultivation, techniques, and ability to use the blades' sharpness. Flight and movement

For travel, the disc expands into a platform and uses its flight array to carry the wielder as lightning. Meng Chuan's understanding of the Flash Form of Lightning lets him draw more speed from its runes, raising his initial travel speed severalfold to about sixty kilometers per second and allowing almost equally fast movement underground. Later techniques multiply rather than replace this function: Flowing Sand gives him more subjective time to steer, his disintegrated lightning form can envelop the disc, and the Infinite movement technique pushes it still faster. The disc consequently magnifies an existing speed specialization; it does not give every wielder Meng Chuan's later velocities. (Chapters 350–355, 372, and 429–435)

Speed has control and environmental limits. Tight obstacles demand sufficient perception and a movement technique capable of rapid direction changes; Meng Chuan calculates that exceeding his controllable speed against a dense void web would send him into danger. Powerful spatial suppression can slow the blades, and the concentrated Origins of Wind defeats their protective formation during his charge. The platform also does not prevent an enemy from tracking or attacking through karma, as shown both by its first owner's death and by Meng Chuan's inability to sense or negate a karmic blood curse with the disc alone. Defensive formation

The Bloodblades revolve in a coordinated rhythm to form a defensive array around one or more protected targets. The formation can resist physical attacks, help stabilize or control the surrounding void, and substantially weaken Essence Soul techniques; it is strongest when concentrated close to the wielder and weaker when expanded over a broad area. Meng Chuan uses nine blades for protection while nine attack, later surrounds allies with twenty-four blades across a thousand-foot region, and at his mature level can call all thirty-six inward as a defensive layer. (Chapters 350, 359–360, 418–424, and 528)

Its defense is strong but finite and interacts with other layers rather than superseding them. The Three Terminal Formation's remaining force cannot penetrate it after much of the attack is spent breaking Meng Chuan out of the deep void, whereas the Origins of Wind collapses an eighteen-blade formation and Emperor Roc's focused spear breaks through all thirty-six blades. Meng Chuan therefore combines the disc with movement, domains, armor, his physical body, and allies' formations. The treasure's effectiveness depends on how much force reaches it and how broadly its protection is distributed. (Chapters 359–360, 418–424, 432, and 527–528)

Bloodblade offense and technique interactions

The individual Bloodblades are exceptionally sharp, can be sensed remotely after intrinsic refinement, and can attack from multiple directions or void layers. Their formations can seal movement, while their speed lets them intercept weapons, destroy separated bodies, or keep a fleeing enemy under pressure. At the Regis level, Meng Chuan demonstrates a roughly fifty-kilometer ranged kill and strength comparable to a weak Creation expert; later his electromagnetic domain accelerates the blades over a long path until each strike grows severalfold stronger. That acceleration requires distance to build momentum and can be disrupted before the blades reach peak speed. (Chapters 350–355, 360–362, and 372)

The disc contains no dedicated offensive runes comparable to its flight and defensive formations. Meng Chuan supplies the attack patterns through the Cloud Dragon Snake Saber Art, Infinite Saber, electromagnetic acceleration, temporal acceleration, and eventually Power of Annihilation. This makes the blades versatile carriers of his growing laws, but also leaves their results dependent on matchup and mastery: they cannot pierce the Dark-Red Prison, fail against Holy Lady Strings's robe, and pose limited danger when Snowjade's movement prevents a coordinated mass strike. Later purpose-bought Sixth Tribulation weapons surpass the disc in raw offense. (Chapters 401, 445–453, 505, 564–566, and 575)

Runic inheritance

The disc contains at least 128 layers of visible runes, with additional portions hidden in spacetime beyond Meng Chuan's early perception. Its flight and defensive arrays embody lightning-lineage and void principles from a Seventh Tribulation Eminence, arranged from shallower concepts toward deeper ones. Studying them helps Meng Chuan improve the Infinite Saber and Cloud Dragon Snake Movement Technique and contributes to three ultimate techniques intended to transcend the world's speed limit. The disc is therefore an instructional inheritance in practice, though it does not directly transmit a named mystic technique and Meng Chuan deliberately studies only the parts suited to his own path. • Archean Mountain: The sect's decision to entrust a Regis Godfiend with a generational Tribulation treasure turns stored inheritance into wartime reach. Its return condition remains part of that custodial relationship even after Meng Chuan gains the right to carry it into the outer realm.
• Demon Slayer: Meng Chuan's long-nurtured saber ultimately becomes more compatible with him and a stronger personal offensive weapon, while the Bloodblade Disc remains the more specialized movement and defensive artifact.
