Qin Wu

Qin Wu is an Archean Mountain leader, sword expert, and Meng Chuan's master. For most of the demon war he balances two duties that repeatedly conflict: conserving humanity's dwindling inheritance and spending it decisively enough that a stronger generation can survive. His judgment makes Meng Chuan's rise possible, while his own cultivation—delayed for centuries by the war—eventually carries him from Creation Supremacy to Imperial Lord.

Biography

The wager on a promising disciple

Qin Wu first appears as the Creation Supremacy then presiding over Archean Mountain. Faced with worsening World Entrances and too few Supremacies to defend them, he argues that ancestral resources are meaningless if caution merely preserves them for a victorious demon race. On that basis, he asks Luo Tang to open the exceptionally scarce Archean Eon Grotto-Heaven for Meng Chuan. His case does not rest on saber progress alone: he sees Meng Chuan's painting talent and young Essence Soul as evidence that the disciple may grow far beyond his current record. (Chapters 133–134)

When Meng Chuan returns with the Cosmos Body cultivation system, Qin Wu does not pretend it is the opportunity he had hoped for. He explains that the human world lacks the Cosmos Crystals needed for its highest stages and initially values the inheritance mainly for survival. Even so, he notices a decisive advantage: its preservation of peak lifeforce can keep Meng Chuan's future breakthrough chances from declining with age. Qin Wu therefore accepts an uncertain return on an irreplaceable investment, setting a pattern for his mentorship—measured assessment followed by commitment once a path still offers humanity a real advantage. That commitment remains deliberately hidden from the disciple. Before Meng Chuan leaves the mountain, Qin Wu conceals an illusory golden sword in his identity token, powerful enough to kill an ordinary fifth Firmament demon monarch. He withholds knowledge of it because open assurance would weaken the pressure through which Meng Chuan tempers himself; once Meng Chuan becomes a Marquis and no longer needs it, Qin Wu admits that he had hoped the protection would never activate. His care is therefore neither indulgence nor distance, but protection designed not to displace the disciple's own courage and judgment. (Chapters 243–244)

Command through the widening demon war

As the invasion spreads, Qin Wu receives the nightly dossiers from across the Great Zhou Dynasty and turns incomplete information into deployments, rewards, and losses. During simultaneous attacks he refuses impossible rescues, orders endangered defenders to withdraw when no reinforcement can arrive, and keeps Regis Godfiends covering the regions whose collapse would be most damaging. Yet he also rejects the purely numerical solution of abandoning whole populations without resistance: he believes that generations of protecting mortals define what a Godfiend is. His command is consequently harsh, but bounded by the morale and purpose that make the defense worth sustaining. (Chapters 145, 152, and 181)

Qin Wu also has to manage a coalition whose members remember older conflicts. When Xu Yingwu proposes allowing demon monarchs into the human world to relieve pressure on Two World Island, Qin Wu and Bai Yaoyue confront both the immediate danger and the distrust between the three sects. Later, he seeks King White Treasure's underground reconnaissance despite expecting Black Sand Grotto-Heaven to demand a high price, because he considers the strategic effect worth the concession. These choices show that sect rivalry remains real for him, but subordinate to preventing the demons from turning numbers and concealment into an irreversible advantage. (Chapters 160–162 and 204)

His authority becomes personal when Meng Chuan brings his condemned father to Archean Mountain. Qin Wu waives punishment for the disciple's rash intervention, reads Meng Dajiang's memories, finds the implanted false confession, and uses a precious bronze mirror to trace the attack to Chunyu Mu. He cannot simply seize a Godfiend belonging to another sect, so he restores Meng Dajiang's memories, clears the immediate accusation, and writes to Black Sand Grotto-Heaven while warning Meng Chuan that inter-sect rules limit what evidence can accomplish. The episode teaches his disciple to distinguish truth from the power to enforce it—and to wait until future strength changes that balance. (Chapters 225–227)

Once Meng Chuan's fourth-level Essence Soul and electromagnetic reconnaissance make him uniquely valuable, Qin Wu changes the scale of his investment. He approves massive supplies for the Undying body, gives him a pocket grotto-heaven and the one remaining protective stone talisman, tests his transformed body, and lets Demon Slayer consume a Creation-realm corpse. During the final-city defense and the million-demon crisis, Qin Wu helps awaken ancient Godfiends and treats Meng Chuan not as a favored junior but as a strategic resource whose speed and survival can alter the war. This is the practical fulfillment of the risk he first took at Archean Eon Grotto-Heaven. (Chapters 255–262, 276–278, and 283–285)

From protector to fellow Sect Proprietor

Qin Wu's protective planning is tested when demon sages isolate the masked Meng Chuan inside the Three Terminal Formation. He leaves Sword Sovereign City before Li Guan's avatar can replace him and forces the unfinished Sky Splitting Sword Flight to a speed that tears at his own body. After Meng Chuan keeps Yellow Oscillate from escaping cleanly, Qin Wu sees through the demon sage's false flight into the outer realm, finds the hidden grotto-heaven bead, and kills the possessor without bargaining. The rescue leaves him badly injured for years, but removes the first demon sage killed in the human world and preserves the person capable of clearing the million-demon threat. (Chapters 359–362)

When Meng Chuan later returns the Eon Sea Sect's cornerstone treasures instead of founding a private faction, Qin Wu supports making him a Sect Proprietor ahead of the normal progression. He recognizes that Meng Chuan already carries Creation-level strength and has surpassed the sect's prior disciples in combined potential; sharing authority also makes the returned inheritance a responsibility rather than a reward. Qin Wu then helps reveal Archean Mountain's deepest reserves, witnesses Meng Chuan swear to guard the sect and humanity, and studies the restored Star Cluster Building beside him. Their relationship begins to change here from a master directing a disciple into senior and junior custodians planning for the same institution. (Chapters 391–395)

That partnership does not make Qin Wu gentler about betrayal. After King Calm Sea is exposed as the murderer of millions, Qin Wu stresses that countless Godfiends endured the same war without colluding with demons. He helps judge his former disciple, explains the irreversible Ice Guard modification, and accepts a punishment that destroys King Calm Sea's path to further bodily and Essence Soul growth while preserving his remaining combat value for a three-hundred-year World Gap patrol. The later discovery of the demon meditation technique's role explains the split consciousness, but does not erase the choices and deaths for which Qin Wu holds him responsible. (Chapters 436–439)

Qin Wu remains equally willing to spend himself for people who have not betrayed that trust. He perfects Sky Splitting Sword Flight enough to reduce, though not eliminate, its injury when Nine Abyss attacks Jiang State Capital, and he arrives to help drive the demon sage into the outer realm. He later explains why Liu Qiyue's remaining lifespan makes Millennium Instant slumber both a wartime reserve and a chance for Meng Chuan to find a cure. Before Meng Chuan enters the outer realm, Qin Wu opens the sect's accumulated intelligence and treasures, accepts the risks of letting humanity's best hope leave, and tells him plainly that beyond the world membrane he must rely on himself. Victory, deferred cultivation, and the Imperial Lord realm

After Meng Chuan's avatars make fifth Firmament armies powerless, Qin Wu helps turn battlefield advantage into lasting governance. He witnesses Li Guan enter his final slumber, resumes Grotto-Heaven Pavilion's daily burdens when Meng Chuan withdraws into cultivation, and negotiates the surrender demands of stranded demons and the Skydemon Sect rather than treating victory as permission to ignore hidden threats. At the demon sage passageway, he admits that the gathered Supremacies can no longer decide the battle themselves, urges Meng Chuan to take every useful Archean Mountain treasure, and notices the deathly stillness that Chaos Hole cultivation has introduced into his disciple's mind. (Chapters 514–516, 524, 529–530, and 539–543)

The destruction of the demons' final force ends a burden Qin Wu has carried for most of a millennium. He weeps when the three invading experts die, but his relief does not erase the scale of what was lost or his resentment that the Demon Realm remains beyond retaliation. Only after the crisis has passed can he pursue the path the war postponed. Restored ultimate techniques, repeated discussion with Meng Chuan, and the wider laws visible in the outer realm help him create a Heaven Earth realm sword technique after more than a thousand years of cultivation. He credits his disciple's return of the Star Cluster Building, guidance, and victory for making that breakthrough possible, while dismissing his own centuries of delay as a smaller sacrifice than the deaths of other Godfiends. Qin Wu initially expects that his sixth-level Essence Soul will prevent a natural Imperial Lord breakthrough and considers accepting transformation into an Imperial Lord-level special lifeform near the end of his life. Meng Chuan instead gives the older Supremacies access to Earth Cloud Mystic Realm. Qin Wu refuses to depend on prepared longevity measures, enters dangerous places such as the Land of Nightmare and Secular World Painting, survives their risks, and reaches a seventh-level Essence Soul before his lifespan ends. The combined technique and Essence Soul breakthroughs let him become an Imperial Lord through his own cultivation; even then, he seeks Meng Chuan's help not for himself but because Luo Tang has developed mental demons. In the latest scene concerning him, Qin Wu stands beside Meng Chuan above Archean Mountain after Emperor Roc's death. He regards the death of the last principal invader as the war's end, while accepting Meng Chuan's answer that an undamaged neighboring Demon Realm remains a danger to later generations. Qin Wu cannot offer a way to enter and punish that world; he can only reason that deterring demons from the outer realm is presently possible. The exchange leaves him alive as an Imperial Lord: no longer the desperate custodian deciding which cities can be saved, but still measuring victory by the safety of descendants he will never meet. Appearance and personality

Qin Wu is introduced as a long-haired man, and his long hair is shown draped over his shoulders while he reads or receives visitors. In battle he carries a sword on his back before fusing with it through Sky Splitting Sword Flight. The narrative does not establish a detailed fixed outfit or later-age transformation for him, so finer visual traits remain uncertain. (Chapters 134, 225, and 361)

He is outwardly calm, analytical, and often mild with trusted juniors: he reads reports at night, drinks tea while hearing petitions, and smiles when giving guidance. That composure does not imply softness. He can order a city abandoned when reinforcement is impossible, refuses Yellow Oscillate's attempt to bargain, and judges King Calm Sea coldly. His sternness is governed by a consistent distinction between necessary sacrifice and self-serving betrayal. (Chapters 145, 181, 225, 362, and 438)

With close colleagues he shows a drier, less formal side. Luo Tang's insistence on chess gives his illusory projection a visible headache, while his later frustration at Meng Chuan leaving administrative work to him is almost domestic. He is reluctant to ask for personal help and refuses easy longevity support, yet will ask immediately when another person's welfare is at stake. These moments make his pride and self-discipline inseparable from longstanding affection for his fellow leaders and disciples. (Chapters 243, 539, and 648)

Abilities and cultivation

Qin Wu is a sword-focused Godfiend whose long cultivation spans the Creation, Heaven Earth, and Imperial Lord thresholds. His strength comes from the interaction of a transcendent-grade Godfiend body, a high technique realm, an increasingly powerful Essence Soul, and a Tribulation weapon chosen for direct combat. The corpus documents those components and their results, but does not fully explain every foundational step by which he first acquired them.

Thirteen Swordbane Fiend Body and cultivation progression

Qin Wu cultivates the Thirteen Swordbane Fiend Body, one of the more difficult transcendent-grade Godfiend bodies. Its close compatibility with sword combat determines his choice of the Sky Splitting Sword Array as his intrinsic Tribulation treasure. At the height of the demon war he is a Creation Supremacy with perfected Grotto-Heaven technique, capable of wielding World Power and killing a demon-sage possessor. The war delays rather than ends his progress. After the Star Cluster Building returns, Qin Wu studies broader sword inheritances and discusses cultivation with Meng Chuan. Outer-realm law perception at Eastcalm City then helps him create a Heaven Earth realm sword technique. His Essence Soul lags behind: it reaches only the sixth level late in his lifespan, preventing an immediate Imperial Lord breakthrough even after his technique advances. In Earth Cloud Mystic Realm he risks dangerous mental cultivation grounds, reaches the seventh Essence Soul level, and finally becomes an Imperial Lord naturally rather than through a capped life modification. Sky Splitting Sword Array

The Sky Splitting Sword Array is the Tribulation treasure Qin Wu chose when young because it best matched the Thirteen Swordbane Fiend Body. It consists of thirty-three swords and was refined as his intrinsic weapon, allowing close integration with his body and power. Its documented purpose is killing: when Qin Wu searches the ground around Yellow Oscillate's apparent escape point, his sword beams reduce soil and rock across a vast area to dust, expose the hidden grotto-heaven bead, and then erase the possessed demon body. The corpus does not specify the maximum number of swords he can direct independently at his latest realm. (Chapters 361–362)

The array also underlies protective measures Qin Wu prepares for others. Before Meng Chuan's first descent from Archean Mountain, Qin Wu places an illusory golden sword inside the disciple's identity token. It remains hidden until Luo Tang extracts it, preventing Meng Chuan from relying on a safety net during his early battles. The stored attack can kill an ordinary fifth Firmament demon monarch, but Qin Wu considers it no longer useful once Meng Chuan becomes a Marquis with stronger personal survival methods. This is a prepared, single-purpose protection, not evidence that Qin Wu can attack anywhere without a medium. (Chapters 243–244)

Sky Splitting Sword Flight

The demon war forces Qin Wu to repurpose a killing array into a movement art. Sky Splitting Sword Flight activates when he carries one array sword, fuses his body with the weapon, and tears through the air as a sword beam. Because the treasure was not designed to transport a human body, its own sword beams strike him during travel and can injure both his flesh and the grotto-heaven within him. His unfinished version reaches roughly 19.5 kilometers per flash, but the damage can prevent him from using full strength for years. He accepts that cost when Meng Chuan is trapped because delay would forfeit the rescue. (Chapters 361–362)

Qin Wu later perfects the technique enough to reduce its bodily damage by half. This makes repeated emergency travel more viable, but does not remove the cost: reaching Jiang State Capital at maximum speed still requires about ninety seconds and again depends on his willingness to arrive injured. Sky Splitting Sword Flight is therefore strategically valuable but not an unrestricted teleportation method. Instant travel shown elsewhere comes from expendable treasures such as Void Transference Talismans, not from this technique. (Chapters 401 and 459–460)

Essence Soul, projections, and memory arts

Even before his late breakthrough, Qin Wu's Essence Soul supports illusory projections that let him participate in councils while his true body guards another location. He can read an enormous span of Meng Dajiang's memories, distinguish implanted recollections from the soul's surviving record, restore the victim's true memory, and use the remaining connection as the basis for a deduction. The scene establishes sophisticated memory and illusion work, but not effortless omniscience: Qin Wu estimates only seventy-to-eighty-percent confidence before inspection and requires a separate bronze mirror to identify the distant culprit through heavenly secrets. His Essence Soul reaches the sixth level only after a long period, then the seventh through dangerous cultivation in Earth Cloud Mystic Realm. The seventh-level breakthrough supplies the second qualitative condition, alongside a Heaven Earth realm technique, for his natural Imperial Lord advancement. He also helms Grotto-Heaven Pavilion for roughly three hundred years, lecturing so many generations that grandparents, parents, and children all call him Master. These skills do not function as supernatural powers, but they explain why his authority persists even after Meng Chuan surpasses him in combat and formally becomes Archean Mountain's leading figure. • Meng Chuan: Qin Wu identifies Meng Chuan's unusual potential, opens Archean Eon Grotto-Heaven for him, protects and tests him without removing danger, and later shares sect authority with him. Their relationship eventually reverses in cultivation terms: Meng Chuan returns lost inheritances, guides Qin Wu's Heaven Earth breakthrough, and opens Earth Cloud Mystic Realm, while Qin Wu remains the master willing to question his disciple's mental state and long-term judgment.
• Luo Tang: A fellow Archean Mountain Supremacy and longtime governing partner. They debate the use of scarce resources, coordinate through projections, and share both the strain of command and an informal friendship expressed through their chess games. When Luo Tang develops mental demons, Qin Wu asks Meng Chuan to help her despite his own reluctance to request assistance.
