Li Guan

Li Guan is Archean Mountain's oldest and initially strongest active Creation Supremacy during the final centuries of the demon war. He governs with Qin Wu and Luo Tang, preserves his remaining lifespan through deep slumber, and commits both the sect's irreplaceable inheritance and his own final years to humanity's defense. His role gradually changes from last-resort commander to the elder who recognizes Meng Chuan as the successor capable of ending the war he could only contain.

Biography

The last reserve awakens

Li Guan is born in a prosperous era when human Godfiend sects still fight one another. After killing an enemy Godfiend in a feat that shocks the sects, he becomes a Supremacy and plans to enter the outer realm once his Grotto-Heaven technique is perfected. The convergence of the human and Demon Realms prevents that future. He instead spends roughly nine hundred years fighting the invasion and eventually enters deep slumber near the end of his two-thousand-year lifespan so his remaining waking time can be reserved for the worst crisis. (Chapters 284 and 524)

That crisis arrives with a million ordinary demon monarchs and hundreds of fourth Firmament attackers. Li Guan awakens as the oldest and strongest human expert present, reviews Qin Wu's deployment plan, and orders its immediate implementation. He accepts the strategically necessary role of guarding Archean Mountain—the refuge that must survive even if the surface defense collapses—while sending an Essence Soul avatar as one of the mobile reinforcements. His willingness to contemplate World Annihilation shows the pressure beneath his calm: if demon sages gain free access, he would rather end the world painlessly than leave humanity as livestock, though only after every other hope fails. Li Guan's command emphasizes future capacity over short-term totals. He supports removing Meng Chuan from underground reconnaissance for a year so the World Gap can accelerate his advancement, even though this sacrifices tens of thousands of immediate demon kills. He briefs the expedition on the forming world's structure and opportunities, opens both membrane walls with Creation-level force, and receives the survivors and their treasures when they return. The decision reflects his governing principle: preserve the irreplaceable foundation, but spend present advantage when it can create a stronger defender. (Chapters 301–302 and 319)

He applies the same principle when Meng Chuan reaches the Regis threshold. Li Guan joins the sect's assessment, permits an extraordinary choice from Ancestral Master Archean Eon's treasures, demonstrates the Bloodblade Disc's hidden power, and explains the permanent Essence Soul risks of intrinsic refinement. The old Sect Proprietor does not treat the inheritance as untouchable prestige; he treats it as a tool whose value depends on whether the chosen wielder can alter the war. (Chapters 343–351)

Inheritance, betrayal, and decisive force

When Meng Chuan reports discovering the abandoned Eon Sea Sect, Li Guan initially warns against rushing into an inheritance capable of killing a Creation Supremacy. He is prepared to spend centuries containing it rather than gamble a crucial life. Meng Chuan's peaceful acquisition changes the calculation: Li Guan accepts the returned cornerstone treasures, tests the restored facilities, and supports promoting their finder to Sect Proprietor ahead of the ordinary sequence. By sharing Archean Mountain's deepest secrets, he turns Meng Chuan from a protected asset into a fellow custodian responsible for the inheritance he restored. (Chapters 390–395)

That trust is contrasted with King Calm Sea's betrayal. After Meng Chuan identifies him as the blood cultivator who murdered millions, Li Guan helps investigate the demon meditation technique and discovers that it split off a second consciousness. The finding explains the killer's altered behavior but does not erase the original consciousness's deliberate dealings with demons or the damage inflicted on his sons. Li Guan therefore joins the judgment that converts King Calm Sea into an Ice Guard, destroys his advancement prospects, and sentences him to a three-hundred-year World Gap patrol rather than allowing either excuses or wasted combat value. Li Guan also acts personally when delay would be fatal. Demon Sages Fire Dragon and Deep Profundity attack distant membrane points at once, and the human Supremacies can intercept only one. With unanimous approval, Li Guan expends Archean Mountain's final Void Transference Talisman to cross more than fifteen thousand kilometers and appears beside Fire Dragon. He uses a sect cornerstone treasure to turn the surrounding heaven and earth into a gigantic closing palm, pulverizing the possessor's body and Essence Soul in one strike. The victory prevents one passage at the cost of a unique strategic resource; the second demon sage still escapes because no duplicate talisman exists. (Chapters 459–460)

His final major investment is the succession itself. When Meng Chuan undergoes an unprecedented breakthrough at Three Mountain Lake, Li Guan sets up a concealment array, stations an Essence Soul avatar for the entire year-long transformation, and helps assess the resulting body and domain without pretending to understand unknown mechanics. Once Meng Chuan can create a Corporeal Avatar, Li Guan argues that the outer realm offers the growth humanity needs, provides restricted intelligence, and watches him depart under the Exile Prison plan. Meng Chuan's true body then guards Heaven and Earth Great Hall in Li Guan's place, making the transfer of strategic responsibility concrete. (Chapters 486–491)

The concealed counterattack and final wish

Li Guan lives long enough to help turn Meng Chuan's growth into an irreversible advantage. Archean Mountain hides the Chaos Hole breakthrough for ten years, and when the demons finally send a fifth Firmament army through the World Gap, Li Guan reassures the other sects while deliberately allowing the invaders to enter. Meng Chuan's avatars capture the force across the world, after which Li Guan joins the leaders who accept the survivors' submission. His patience converts years of secrecy into a single demonstration that ends the demons' numerical threat and moves the war from desperate defense toward settlement. (Chapters 514–516)

With his lifespan almost exhausted, Li Guan returns to the Millennium Hall. He recalls the outer-realm journey the invasion denied him, the nine centuries of dead Godfiends, and the shame he expected to bear if forced to annihilate humanity in order to deny the demons victory. Meng Chuan's rise removes that ending. Li Guan says he has no regrets and asks only to be awakened once more when humanity wins, using the last portion of his preserved sleeping time for the celebration rather than prolonging life without purpose. The final demon force falls suddenly enough that Li Guan is awakened and escorted to Blood Red Cliff for the victory ceremony. He laughs on learning that Meng Chuan now exceeds newly advanced Tribulation Eminences, then notices the deathly change in the younger man's aura and accepts his explanation that living itself is cultivation. Li Guan subsequently returns to his family with only months remaining and dies off-page. In the latest reference, Meng Chuan remembers him among those who gave immensely to humanity, confirming that the elder's final wish was fulfilled before his death. (Chapters 536, 542, and 766)

Appearance and personality

When first awakened, Li Guan appears as a middle-aged man despite being close to the end of a two-thousand-year lifespan. Near death, the preservation fades: his hair is snow-white, his face deeply wrinkled, and his age unmistakable. His Essence Soul avatar appears as a dark or illusory figure rather than reproducing every detail of the true body's late-life appearance. The corpus does not establish a distinctive permanent outfit or weapon carried on his person. (Chapters 284, 390, 486, and 524–536)

Li Guan is calm under extreme pressure and willing to state brutal contingencies without romanticizing them. He can discuss ending the world if demon occupation becomes unavoidable, but describes that act as an unforgivable burden rather than a clean solution. He also accepts plans devised by younger leaders when he judges them sound, openly telling Qin Wu that his deployment is more reliable. This combination of authority and lack of vanity lets him remain senior without insisting that every decision originate from him. (Chapters 284 and 326)

His caution is paired with decisive commitment. He is prepared to besiege Eon Sea Sect for a thousand years rather than lose a key defender, yet instantly spends a unique talisman when Fire Dragon must be stopped. He judges King Calm Sea by both evidence and consequence, and he entrusts Meng Chuan with greater authority as soon as demonstrated ability warrants it. At the end of his life, his composure becomes acceptance: he values seeing humanity win more than stretching out a few additional waking months. (Chapters 390–395, 436–460, and 524–536)

Abilities and cultivation

Li Guan is a Creation Supremacy with a sixth-level Essence Soul, a powerful Grotto-Heaven foundation, and access to Archean Mountain's strategic formations and cornerstone inheritance. He is treated as the strongest human expert when awakened and remains dangerous enough that peak fifth Firmament demon monarchs avoid confronting him. The corpus demonstrates several high-level effects, but does not name his Godfiend body, intrinsic technique, or a personal weapon; those details should not be inferred from his status.

Creation realm and World Power

Li Guan's Creation cultivation lets him wield World Power and directly affect world membranes. To open the World Gap expedition's route, he punches the void with gray energy, breaks through the human membrane, and shatters the partially formed World Gap membrane into a passage dozens of feet wide. His own realm prevents him from entering the developing gap, so this power is used to deploy and retrieve Regis-level teams rather than accompany them. The same cultivation supports a Grotto-Heaven domain and an approximately two-thousand-year natural lifespan. (Chapters 284, 302, 319, and 524)

He never reaches the Heaven Earth technique realm and seventh-level Essence Soul combination required for an Imperial Lord. His account says that he once intended to perfect his Grotto-Heaven technique and roam the outer realm, but the invasion consumed the remainder of his cultivation life. At his late documented state, he remains a Creation Supremacy whose raw strength and inherited equipment can casually produce threshold Imperial Lord-level force, not an Imperial Lord in his own right. Sixth-level Essence Soul and avatars

Li Guan's sixth-level Essence Soul allows him to maintain an Essence Soul avatar while his true body guards Archean Mountain or conserves lifespan. The avatar can cross the human world, perceive a target with an Essence Soul domain, survive chaotic Heaven and Earth powers, supervise arrays, and participate in councils. It also enables him to remain on watch at Three Mountain Lake throughout Meng Chuan's year-and-two-month transformation without committing his aging true body to the same station. An Essence Soul avatar is not presented as equivalent to his full combat body. During the million-demon emergency it serves as a reinforcement alongside Qin Wu and Meng Chuan, while the true body's principal duty is protecting the sect. His late-life use of sleep also imposes a hard strategic limit: waking time consumes the finite lifespan he is attempting to preserve. Cornerstone-treasure strike

Li Guan's most explicit offensive feat combines his cultivation with one of Archean Mountain's cornerstone treasures. After teleporting beside Fire Dragon, he reaches out and transforms heaven and earth across dozens of kilometers into a gigantic palm. The grasp encloses the demon in a small world, collapses it, and destroys both body and Essence Soul despite Fire Dragon's strongest counterattack. The source attributes Li Guan's ability to send a threshold Imperial Lord-level attack casually to the cornerstone treasure, so the feat is equipment-assisted rather than proof of an innate palm technique at that level. The attack is overwhelming against a demon-sage possessor caught in the human world, but its deployment depends on reaching the target. Li Guan needs the sect's last Void Transference Talisman to cover the fifteen-thousand-kilometer distance before the membrane breaks. Because the talisman is single-use and no second one remains, he cannot stop Deep Profundity at the simultaneous breach. The representative victory therefore shows both his peak striking power and the logistical limit that prevents it from solving every front. (Chapters 459–460)

Formations, perception, and strategic command

Li Guan can create or supervise large formations, read complex battlefield dossiers rapidly, and use his cultivation knowledge to evaluate unfamiliar changes. At Three Mountain Lake he places an array that blocks prying and interference, maintains oversight through the entire breakthrough, then carefully compares Meng Chuan's absorption, domain, lifespan, and avatar against established Creation and Imperial Lord traits. When the result falls outside the recorded Godfiend system, he treats the uncertainty as real rather than forcing a false diagnosis. (Chapters 284, 301–302, and 486–489)

His strategic expertise is equally important. He allocates irreplaceable treasures, chooses when dormant Godfiends should wake, briefs World Gap teams, adjudicates betrayal, and plans around lifespans measured in decades. These applications interact with Qin Wu's operational command and Luo Tang's resource scrutiny; Li Guan often supplies senior authorization and a long historical view rather than acting alone. • Qin Wu: Li Guan treats Qin Wu as a trusted junior colleague whose operational plans can be accepted without interference. They govern Archean Mountain together, allocate its deepest inheritance, judge King Calm Sea, and pass leadership to Meng Chuan.
• Luo Tang: Luo Tang shares the burden of sect governance and scarce-resource decisions. She addresses Li Guan as senior brother, challenges proposals when risks appear too high, and remains with him through the transition to Meng Chuan's leadership.
• Meng Chuan: Li Guan moves from evaluating an unusually useful Marquis to recognizing a successor beyond the historical system.
