Yan Chitong

Yan Chitong is an Archean Mountain spear cultivator who enters the sect as its youngest specially recruited disciple, grows into a Marquis during the demon war, and eventually becomes a Regis Godfiend. His cultivation is defined by an important correction: although he builds the Two World Divine Body, he abandons the expectation that he must advance through balanced fire and water, choosing an Extreme Fire spear path that better suits him. By the latest era, he remains one of Meng Chuan's oldest living friends.

Biography

Foundations and Archean Mountain

Yan Chitong enters Archean Mountain's selection at thirteen, already famous for comprehending Force and regarded as Archean City's leading young genius. His age leaves him behind mature candidates in raw foundation, reactions, and mental endurance: he pierces fewer force barriers than the strongest competitors, fails an early hail round, and stops at the twenty-second Darkness Altar step. The examiners nevertheless judge those results exceptional for a still-maturing child. After the normal places are awarded, King East River recruits him separately, preserving both the examination rules and the sect's chance to nurture unusual long-term potential. (Chapters 74–90)

He arrives in a red robe, barefoot and carrying a spear, delighted to be the youngest junior brother. Yan Chitong chooses the Two World Divine Body and quickly boasts that he may complete it within a year, only to be reminded that its life-and-death refinements are the true obstacle. His confidence is not empty: at sixteen he perfects the transcendent-grade body, becomes a Godfiend, and masters a move of the Red Lotus Flaming Spear Art. This combination makes him one of the very few disciples of his cohort to pair a perfected body with a Black Metal Sutra technique. (Chapters 91–99 and 122–125)

Yan Chitong remains on the mountain after Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue depart, still looking like a teenager and openly envying their combat robes and divine armaments. The delay reflects Archean Mountain's higher Nine Mystical Caves standard for its most gifted disciples, not a reversal of his early promise. By the widening war, sect leaders name him alongside Meng Chuan and Xue Feng as a younger cultivator likely to become a Marquis and potentially a Regis. He later fulfills the first prediction while the war is still producing heavy losses among established Godfiend teams. (Chapters 133–136, 209–210, and 251)

The widening demon war

Yan Chitong's father, Marquis West Sea, nearly dies when a powerful demon force attacks Eastcalm City. Meng Chuan arrives in time to kill the fifth Firmament attacker, and Yan Chitong later thanks him both by letter and in person. The scene directly shows fear at what might have happened and gratitude for the rescue; it also marks a change from the flippant child described earlier. His regard for his forgiving father has deepened with age, and Meng Chuan's intervention becomes a personal reason for the two fellow disciples' lasting friendship. (Chapters 286, 293, and 301)

Chosen with Meng Chuan and Xue Feng for the World Gap expedition, Yan Chitong studies a forming world's laws under the protection of King True Martial and King Calm Sea. The expedition also exposes his limits: against peak fifth Firmament enemies, the three Marquis are instructed to remain within the Regis Godfiends' protection, and Yan Chitong later hides in Meng Chuan's pocket grotto-heaven during the struggle for an Origins treasure. He witnesses combat and acquires cultivation opportunities, but the decisive fighting is deliberately kept beyond him. (Chapters 301–307 and 313–319)

The World Gap resolves a longstanding conflict in his cultivation. Yan Chitong had built the Two World Divine Body but found the paired pursuit of fire and water increasingly unsuitable. Watching the forming world convinces him that Extreme Fire offers an equally viable future, so he commits fully to it. His spear produces thousands of flaming shadows, distorts the void, and covers several kilometers as he reaches the peak of the Realm of Dao. King True Martial approves the personal path while warning that a Dharma Domain and stronger Essence Soul are still required for the next major advancement. (Chapters 308–310)

When the expedition ends, Yan Chitong exchanges the unfamiliar treasures he gathered for sect credit and returns to wartime service rather than treating the opportunity as a completed ascent. His technique progresses faster than Meng Chuan's at that stage, but he still needs decades to cross the remaining thresholds. Twenty-two years later, Meng Chuan visits Warped Cloud City because Yan Chitong has finally become a Regis Godfiend. The breakthrough completes the trajectory Archean Mountain predicted for him, while its timing confirms King True Martial's warning that insight at the World Gap did not erase the harder Dharma Domain and Essence Soul bottlenecks. War’s end and outer-realm expansion

As a newly advanced Regis, Yan Chitong guards Warped Cloud City under a concealed identity and lives there with his wife, Marchioness Qingyi. He celebrates with Meng Chuan, remembers his younger certainty that he possessed the world's greatest talent, and now states that experience taught him there is always someone better. When their outing exposes crimes protected by a Godfiend clan, he follows Meng Chuan's judgment, helps confront the responsible people, and later comforts his friend. The episode places his mature strength inside civic protection rather than presenting advancement as freedom from ordinary human suffering. (Chapters 466–469)

Yan Chitong survives to see the demon war end. He is absent from Blood Red Cliff's memorial images because he remains alive, while the fallen people he knew—including Xue Feng and King True Martial—are commemorated before the assembled Godfiends. In the centuries that follow, his technique reaches the Grotto-Heaven realm and makes him one of the strongest and oldest Regis Godfiends. His Essence Soul, however, remains at the fourth level, leaving him short of the fifth-level threshold required to use Meng Chuan's vitality-restoring program as a direct route to the Supremacy realm. That limitation does not end his life immediately. Meng Chuan prepares useful outer-realm gifts for Yan Chitong and other close friends, and later reforms of Archean Eon Realm provide resources unavailable during their youth. The corpus does not identify a later Supremacy breakthrough for Yan Chitong, so his latest grounded cultivation remains Regis Godfiend with Grotto-Heaven technique rather than Creation. More than eighteen centuries after their first admission to Archean Mountain, he is still living well and continues to gather with Meng Chuan and Yan Jin, making his latest status alive. Appearance and personality

At thirteen, Yan Chitong wears a red robe, walks barefoot, and carries a spear. He remains youthful-looking for years after becoming a Godfiend. By the World Gap expedition he is described as a handsome young man, and by his Regis breakthrough he has matured into a bearded, heroic-looking man. These descriptions trace ordinary maturation across a long Godfiend life rather than a named transformation or alternate body. (Chapters 74, 91–99, 136, 301, and 467)

His early personality is energetic, smug, and somewhat unruly. He runs around happily as the youngest disciple, boasts about his cultivation speed, and reacts indignantly when the Darkness Altar defeats him. The same competitiveness later becomes disciplined drive: he accepts King True Martial's criticism, spars frequently with stronger peers, and responds to Xue Feng's breakthrough with sincere congratulations. The text therefore supports growth from youthful self-certainty toward a more generous awareness of other cultivators' strengths. (Chapters 88–99 and 308–310)

Yan Chitong is also loyal and convivial. He remembers Meng Chuan's rescue of his father with explicit gratitude, admires his senior brother's speed, and later welcomes him with food, drink, and candid reminiscence. By the time he becomes a Regis, he can laugh at his childhood conviction that he was unmatched and openly credit the difference in their perceptivity. His concern after the Warped Cloud City case is likewise directed toward Meng Chuan rather than toward protecting local prestige. (Chapters 301, 313, and 466–469)

Abilities and cultivation

Yan Chitong is a spear-focused Godfiend whose cultivation progresses from Force at thirteen through a perfected Two World Divine Body, Great Solar and Marquis stages, the peak of the Realm of Dao, Dharma Domain, Regis Godfiend, and finally Grotto-Heaven technique. His latest stated Essence Soul remains at the fourth level. The corpus demonstrates several spear and fire manifestations, but provides no complete late-era duel from which the full combat ceiling of his Grotto-Heaven state can be measured.

Two World Divine Body

Yan Chitong chooses and perfects the Two World Divine Body, one of the transcendent-grade Godfiend bodies that normally supports paired Yin-Yang or fire-and-water cultivation. Perfection at sixteen gives him a strong Godfiend foundation and lets him become a Godfiend through the Life-and-Death juncture. The body remains the base for his Quintessential Essence and later realm advancements even after he stops treating balanced fire and water as the technique path he must follow. This distinction is central to his progression. Yan Chitong does not discard or replace his cultivated body; he changes the profundity emphasized by his spear arts. King True Martial, himself a Two World Divine Body expert who created a different lineage from the same foundation, confirms that a predecessor's route need not be perfect for every successor. The result shows the body's compatibility with a specialized Extreme Fire direction, but the corpus does not claim that Yan Chitong retains equally developed water techniques after making that choice. Red Lotus Flaming Spear Art and Extreme Fire

Yan Chitong masters at least one move of the Red Lotus Flaming Spear Art while still a young disciple. It is a Black Metal Sutra spear inheritance and, together with his perfected body, establishes him as a peerless prospect. The supplied chapters do not name that early move or isolate its exact activation sequence, so its mechanics should not be expanded beyond a fire-aligned spear technique backed by his Godfiend foundation. His World Gap breakthrough provides a clearer application. After committing to Extreme Fire, a thrust divides into thousands of flaming spear shadows; their sharpness distorts the void, and the resulting flames cover several kilometers. This is the manifestation that accompanies his peak Realm of Dao breakthrough. It offers wide-area pressure and many simultaneous attack lines, but no scene shows it overcoming a peak fifth Firmament opponent; during such encounters he remains under King True Martial's protection. The Extreme Fire decision improves comfort and direction rather than granting an immediate sequence of realm breakthroughs. Yan Chitong still needs a Dharma Domain, a third-level Essence Soul, and sufficient remaining vitality to become Regis. He eventually meets those conditions decades later. By the late era his technique reaches Grotto-Heaven, establishing continued comprehension beyond the World Gap, though the corpus does not name a newer spear art or describe how its maximum range differs from the earlier flaming-shadow technique. Essence Soul, domains, and limits

As a Marquis, Yan Chitong's principal bottlenecks are his Dharma Domain and Essence Soul. King True Martial warns that reaching the peak of the Realm of Dao at forty-six still leaves both tasks, and that the third-level Essence Soul should be attained before age weakens the likelihood of a Regis breakthrough. Yan Chitong succeeds after many years, gaining the Seamless body and domain associated with a Regis Godfiend. The text does not identify a signature offensive Essence Soul mystic technique for him. (Chapters 309 and 466–467)

Centuries later, his technique has reached Grotto-Heaven while his Essence Soul remains fourth-level. This mismatch matters mechanically: Meng Chuan's outer-realm treasures can restore aged Regis bodies to peak vitality for a Supremacy breakthrough, but the program requires both Grotto-Heaven technique and a fifth-level Essence Soul. Yan Chitong therefore has the requisite technique but lacks the soul threshold. His long survival later in the corpus does not by itself prove that this missing breakthrough occurred.
