King True Martial
King True Martial is Archean Mountain's foremost Regis Godfiend of his era and the creator of the True Martial lineage. After an unspecified emotional setback makes him doubt his earlier path, he rebuilds his cultivation from the Yin-Yang Art, becomes a patient senior to younger Godfiends such as Meng Chuan, and ultimately spends his life to prevent the demons from opening the human world to invasion.
Biography
Promise, Collapse, and Reinvention
As a young disciple, King True Martial is so talented that Archean Mountain opens Archean Eon Grotto-Heaven for him and hopes he will become the peerless expert who saves humanity. He advances to the Regis Godfiend realm and acquires a technique realm comparable to Creation Supremacies, but the passage of time leaves his body aging beyond three hundred years. By the time the main war intensifies, his age makes a normal Creation-realm breakthrough overwhelmingly likely to kill him even though his comprehension has reached the necessary heights. (Chapters 134, 277, and 286)
The corpus later reveals that an emotional setback made him doubt both his life and cultivation path. It does not identify the other person or provide enough evidence to specify the event. He falls to his lowest point, remains unable to release the regret, and never marries. Rather than staying defeated, he rebuilds his cultivation upon the Imperial Lord-level Yin-Yang Art and creates the True Martial Seven Absolutes, a system strong enough to let a Regis Godfiend contend with Creation experts. His return establishes him as the strongest Regis Godfiend in the world. (Chapters 464–465 and 482)
That personal history shapes a senior who is gentle without being complacent. He welcomes younger Godfiends, explains hidden achievements without embarrassing them, and tells Yan Chitong that inherited doctrine need not be followed when another path fits better. At the same time, any mention of demons sharpens his manner because he regards their invasion as an existential calamity. He uses his second chance not to dwell publicly on his private regret but to guard True Martial Pass, rescue endangered Godfiends, and prepare successors for a war he may not live to see end. (Chapters 286, 301, 303, and 308–309)
Guardian and Teacher in the World Gap
Archean Mountain selects King True Martial to lead one of its first teams into the forming World Gap. He accepts responsibility for protecting Meng Chuan and Yan Chitong while King Calm Sea guards Xue Feng, stating that he can protect both juniors within his domain even against fifth Firmament demon monarchs. He warns the younger cultivators not to turn a battle into a burden for their guardians, then teaches by example: his calm planning, broad defenses, and decisive attacks allow the group to cultivate amid a region where the demons can send far more experts than humanity can. (Chapters 300–303)
When the Spacetime Floating Ice appears, King True Martial identifies its value and has Meng Chuan carry him toward it at unmatched speed. After securing it, he refuses to monopolize the credit, assigning Meng Chuan an equal share because the capture would have failed without his movement. He also lets the younger members keep lesser world-birth treasures rather than claiming them for himself. The decisions show how he turns nominal command into practical development for the people under his protection. (Chapters 305–307 and 319)
His judgment becomes the team's principal safeguard during direct clashes. He annihilates City Lord White Cloud with one punch, traps and grinds Old Fiend Black Wind in his Yin-Yang domain, and later uses the Ten Absolutes of World Annihilation against Blood Shura. The last technique succeeds only because King Calm Sea alters time around him, and it leaves True Martial's dantian injured. Even while recovering, he treats the victory as a team result and continues instructing the younger Godfiends. The World Gap campaign therefore advances both his combat system and his role as a mentor rather than merely adding victories to his record. (Chapters 306–317)
Years of observing a forming world and studying Star Cluster Building legacies raise his True Martial lineage to the late Grotto-Heaven stage. Archean Mountain then entrusts him with a Tribulation treasure because his power can match Demon Sage Nine Abyss despite his Regis cultivation. He joins later World Gap defenders as a central commander, relies on Meng Chuan for rapid deployment, and combines his domain and void-shattering fists with the Essence Soul attacks and specialized defenses of other sects' Godfiends. The team suffers losses, but his coordination helps kill Demon Monarch Coldmoon and break an invasion force that no single fighter could safely meet alone. (Chapters 439, 445–454, and 458–461)
The Karmic Strike
When demon sage possessors attempt to enter the World Gap, King True Martial helps design the interception. He accepts that the team's ancient Regis Godfiends are willing to die but uses their lives as carefully as possible: Meng Chuan carries them between threatened points, True Martial opens passages through enemy arrays with Ten Absolutes of World Annihilation, and protected specialists prepare the killing blows. Even after the demons hide their primary target, Demon Sage Deep Profundity, in a small grotto-heaven, he does not force the team into a purposeless frontal assault. (Chapters 458–463)
Archean Mountain had entrusted him with a Fate Strawman for exactly that failure case. Because his high technique realm lets him sense karma, he spends three days linking the treasure to Deep Profundity's fate. The connection allows him to recognize that the visible demon sage is a disguised decoy and locate the genuine target beyond ordinary reach. He waits until the karmic link is complete, then attacks through the strawman and destroys Deep Profundity's Essence Soul inside the sealed grotto-heaven. (Chapter 464)
Using the treasure could have cost roughly a century of lifespan while leaving him a substantial chance of success and the option of entering a long-lived Dao Protector body. King True Martial judges that chance insufficient when failure would expose the human world to a demon army. He therefore burns his Essence Soul and expends all his remaining life to strengthen the curse. Deep Profundity dies, the invasion plan collapses, and True Martial entrusts the future to Meng Chuan before his consciousness dissipates. His decision converts a personal future that still contained hope of a Creation breakthrough into certainty for humanity. (Chapters 464–465)
Archean Mountain buries his ashes behind his cave abode, and later generations remember him as the strongest Regis Godfiend of the millennium. Meng Chuan repeatedly treats his death as both a loss and a duty inherited: without True Martial's sacrifice, calamity would have arrived before Meng Chuan became capable of ending the war. At the end of the corpus, Meng Chuan reaches the Eighth Tribulation realm and intends to recover contributors such as True Martial from the River of Spacetime. The text establishes that intention and his ability to do so, but does not depict True Martial's restored life within the supplied chapters. (Chapters 465, 536, 626, 635, and 766)
Appearance and personality
King True Martial appears as a long-haired elder with an approachable smile and warm manner. In combat, the same mild expression accompanies attacks that erase powerful enemies, creating a marked contrast between appearance and force. When he spends his life through the Fate Strawman, his black hair turns white, his face becomes wizened, and a deathly aura surrounds him before his body collapses. (Chapters 286, 301, 306–307, and 464)
He is patient, fair-minded, strategically cautious, and generous toward juniors. He shares credit according to contribution, explains cultivation without demanding imitation, and treats rare offensive methods as trump cards rather than opportunities for display. His private life contains lasting regret, yet the source does not show him transferring that bitterness to subordinates. His final choice also reveals his defining standard: when uncertainty threatens the entire human world, he accepts a greater personal cost to make success as certain as he can. (Chapters 303–309, 316–319, 451–465)
Abilities and cultivation
King True Martial is a Regis Godfiend whose self-created True Martial lineage gives him combat power above his nominal cultivation realm. It joins the Two World Divine Body and Yin-Yang principles to a complete system of domains, destructive fist techniques, void control, tracking, and later karmic perception. His technique realm reaches the late Grotto-Heaven stage, comparable in practical strength to a normal perfected Grotto-Heaven expert.
Two World Divine Body and Yin-Yang foundation
King True Martial cultivates the transcendent-grade Two World Divine Body and initially follows Grandsire Yin Yang's Imperial Lord-level Yin-Yang Art. After rebuilding his path, he retains Yin and Yang as his foundation but develops a system better suited to himself. The resulting True Martial lineage is stronger than the Yin-Yang Art at the same early Grotto-Heaven level, though it never surpasses the completed Imperial Lord legacy as a whole. This distinction explains how his personal technique grants exceptional Regis-level combat without making him an Imperial Lord. (Chapters 308–309 and 319)
Yin-Yang Reversal also offers a possible answer to his aging body. Improved comprehension can restore vitality and raise his chance of surviving a Creation breakthrough; perfection could return his youth entirely. During the first World Gap expedition he pursues that possibility intensely, but he never completes the reversal before his final mission. Age therefore remains a cultivation limit even after his technique realm reaches Creation standards, and death ends this progression before it can produce a higher Godfiend realm. (Chapters 134, 303, 464–465)
True Martial Seven Absolutes and domain
The True Martial Seven Absolutes is a self-created, peak Creation-level system built on the Yin-Yang Art. Its black-and-white Yin-Yang domain covers a broad area, shields allies, suppresses hostile forces, and controls movement. Against Old Fiend Black Wind, it tears apart incoming wind, drags the physically powerful demon toward its center, and grinds his regenerating body to destruction over seven rotations. Later, even a massive Black River array can only suppress rather than immediately erase the domain, allowing other Godfiends time and space to act. (Chapters 302–307 and 445–452)
The lineage also grants short-term reconstruction of past events, making King True Martial an exceptional tracker. Its foundation favors the void: his fists can erase matter, break through spatial defenses, and shatter Demon Monarch Coldmoon's shadow world so an ally's Essence Soul attack can reach her. At the late Grotto-Heaven stage, the system lets him fight at the level of a normal perfected Grotto-Heaven expert, and an Archean Mountain Tribulation treasure further amplifies his output. Its breadth—attack, defense, domain, tracking, and void control—is why allies describe it as unusually well rounded. (Chapters 204, 306–307, 445–454, and 465)
Annihilation Fist and Ten Absolutes of World Annihilation
Annihilation Fist is the strongest move King True Martial creates within the Seven Absolutes. Its gray force makes flesh and blood vanish rather than merely striking them aside, and a normal projection can destroy powerful demon bodies or rupture a protected shadow world. Ten Absolutes of World Annihilation is a forbidden extension that releases ten punches in an instant and merges their force into a final destructive output. It can obliterate Blood Shura and later open passages through multi-layer demon arrays. (Chapters 306–317, 445–454, and 461–463)
The extension carries severe mechanical and tactical limits. Producing ten attacks together burdens both body and Quintessential Essence, damages his dantian, and requires slow recovery. Against an equal opponent, the preparation is too long to use freely; King Calm Sea's time influence or Meng Chuan's tenfold Flowing Sand is needed to compress the sequence into a viable opening. Even at higher mastery, repeated use demands a forbidden spell and worsens physical damage. It is therefore a decisive coordinated weapon, not a sustainable default attack. (Chapters 316–317, 447–448, and 461–463)
Karma perception and Fate Strawman
Reaching the Grotto-Heaven realm allows cultivators to begin sensing karma, and King True Martial's unusually high technique realm makes those connections clear enough for him to learn the Fate Strawman's method. The item gradually joins its target's fate to the straw figure, allowing him to distinguish a disguised clone from the real Demon Sage Deep Profundity and send an Essence Soul-destroying curse into a small grotto-heaven that ordinary attacks cannot penetrate. The process requires three days of undisturbed preparation and a valid karmic link. (Chapter 464)
The strike is item-derived rather than an innate True Martial attack, and its price scales with the certainty he demands. A century of lifespan would yield only a high chance of killing Deep Profundity. King True Martial instead consumes all remaining lifespan and burns his Essence Soul, ensuring the demon sage's death but destroying his own consciousness and ending access to every cultivated ability. His latest demonstrated state is therefore a deceased Regis Godfiend whose final karmic technique succeeds completely; the corpus later presents recovery from the River of Spacetime as Meng Chuan's intended future action. (Chapters 464–465 and 766)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| True Martial lineage | 308–309 | Rebuilds Grandsire Yin Yang's path around his own Two World Divine Body, creating a broader and stronger Regis-level system suited to himself. |
| Late Grotto-Heaven technique | 465 | Refines the True Martial lineage to a level comparable to ordinary perfected Grotto-Heaven experts, without completing Yin-Yang Reversal or advancing beyond Regis. |
| Fate Strawman sacrifice | 465 | Burns all remaining lifespan and his Essence Soul to guarantee Deep Profundity's death; the successful curse permanently ends his consciousness and cultivated access. |
Relationships
- Meng Chuan: Junior teammate and eventual successor. True Martial protects, credits, teaches, and relies on Meng Chuan throughout the World Gap campaigns before entrusting the war's future to him at death.
- King Calm Sea: Fellow peak Regis Godfiend and World Gap defender. Their abilities complement one another when Calm Sea changes time for True Martial's strongest sequence; Calm Sea also measures his own compromised life against True Martial's sacrifice.
- Xue Feng: Junior under his protection in the first expedition. True Martial recognizes Xue Feng's breakthrough and explains its importance without exploiting the strained relationship between Xue Feng and his father.
- Yan Chitong: Junior whom he protects and counsels. True Martial validates Yan Chitong's decision to abandon an ill-fitting dual-element path, while still warning him that war leaves little time for delay.
- Li Guan: Sect elder who recognizes his early brilliance, authorizes his World Gap missions, and entrusts him with the Fate Strawman. Li Guan later inters his ashes behind his cave abode.
- King Molten: Senior comrade in the final World Gap campaigns. True Martial integrates his defense and willingness to sacrifice into plans designed to reach targets behind demon arrays.
Items
- Spacetime Floating Ice: A world-birth treasure that displays possible future scenes. King True Martial identifies and secures it with Meng Chuan's speed, splits the resulting credit fairly, and returns it to Archean Mountain; one of its visions is later invalidated when the sect changes King Calm Sea's fate.
