Liu Qiyue
Liu Qiyue is a Phoenix Divine Body archer, frontline Godfiend, and Meng Chuan's lifelong partner. Raised beside him from childhood, she develops from Eastcalm's gifted young sharpshooter into Marchioness and then Queen Calmmoon, repeatedly accepting the Phoenix bloodline's terrible cost when civilians or comrades cannot otherwise be saved.
Biography
Eastcalm and Archean Mountain
Liu Qiyue grows up in Meng Manor after her father leaves her there at a young age, sharing with Meng Chuan both the absence of a mother and years of daily cultivation. Their earliest relationship is already built around complementary combat: she insists that sharpshooters need guards, while he promises that in a life-and-death fight he would close the distance to protect her. Her playful confidence hides serious discipline. She develops five killer moves, including Seven Star Strafe, and earns a place in the Demon-Slaying Meet through her standing at Blazing Sun Dao Academy. (Chapters 1–2, 7, and 11–17)
That preparation becomes real during Eastcalm's demon invasion. Stationed with the sharpshooters at Blazing Sun Castle, Liu Qiyue keeps firing as two demon armies overwhelm the defenses, even when her ordinary arrows cannot stop the commanders. Under desperation, her inherited phoenix bloodline awakens: heat and flame enter her arrows, allowing her to fight beside Dean Zhong and making her a target valuable enough for the demons to capture alive. Meng Chuan's arrival saves the castle, but Qiyue's awakening also forces a sudden separation when Archean Mountain immediately recruits her for specialized training. (Chapters 56–63 and 68–71)
On Archean Mountain, Liu Qiyue's guaranteed path to a perfected Phoenix Divine Body does not remove the need for technique and will. She chooses to improve her archery and reach the Realm of Intent, receives a Heaven-level legacy through intent guidance, and studies under the master sharpshooter Marquis Heavenstar. The Pit of Bewilderment leaves her trapped in nightmares for five days, demonstrating that rare blood does not protect her mind from cultivation's trials. Over eleven years, however, her affinity with fire and persistent practice carry her ahead of many celebrated peers. (Chapters 89, 95, 101, 107, 110, and 122)
Her bond with Meng Chuan matures during the same years through ordinary acts of care rather than a sudden declaration. She cooks after his agonizing baneful-aura refinements, monitors his breakthroughs, and shares the quiet routines between their separate training sessions. They privately decide to walk together for the rest of their lives, then postpone marriage until they can leave the mountain and include family and friends. By the time both reach the Great Solar realm, their partnership has become an operational fact as well as an intimate promise: her long-range fire covers the spaces his speed and saber cannot. (Chapters 99–106, 113–119, and 126–131)
Before descending, Liu Qiyue completes the Nine Mystical Caves test, receives the later Phoenix Divine Body formula and Essence Soul method, and prepares armor and a bow suitable for field service. She and Meng Chuan leave not as protected prodigies but as Great Solar Godfiends expected to hold a city pass. Her early dream that they might fight together has therefore changed into a duty with consequences: her rare bloodline makes her valuable to humanity, but also ensures that every serious enemy will understand what she can do and seek ways to force her most costly power. (Chapters 120–136)
Battlefield Partnership and Family
North River Pass teaches Liu Qiyue the difference between mountain training and sustained war. As a sharpshooter, she works from prepared range while Meng Chuan and the other Godfiends meet enemies near the World Entrance. Domains can weaken or obstruct her arrows, forcing her to judge where her attacks still matter rather than simply firing at the strongest target. Against Demon Monarch Lion's forces, she redirects her fire toward second Firmament demon monarchs when layered domains make direct support ineffective, preventing the lesser enemies from overrunning the walls while Meng Chuan's group endures the central clash. (Chapters 137–155)
The assignment also tests the emotional cost of their complementary roles. Qiyue can see Meng Chuan trapped in lethal close combat without always being able to reach him; he, in turn, relies on her to protect the pass while he leaves formation for rescues. Neither responds by abandoning position. Their trust grows through accepting that each must fulfill the part of the defense the other cannot. After surviving repeated assaults, they marry at North River Pass, joining a household already shaped by Meng Dajiang, Liu Yebai, and years of shared preparation. (Chapters 140–160)
Transferred to Jiang State Capital, Liu Qiyue joins Meng Chuan, Zhang Yunfeng, and Yang Fang in investigating the Skydemon Sect. Her archery and phoenix flames support the team's pursuit while Zhang Yunfeng's domain conceals and constrains their movements. The campaign confirms that she and Meng Chuan are most effective as a coordinated pair: he finds openings through speed and close pursuit, while she controls distance and punishes targets that expose themselves. Their success brings a more mobile posting at Gu Mountain Prefecture, where rescue missions replace the fixed rhythm of a pass. (Chapters 164–190)
Family life develops inside that uncertainty rather than after it. Qiyue becomes pregnant while she and Meng Chuan continue responding to demon threats, and Qin Wu provides a Phoenix Feather that purifies her bloodline and benefits the unborn children. She gives birth to twins, Meng You and Meng An, yet remains a frontline Godfiend. The couple entrusts much of the children's daily care to Meng Dajiang and Liu Yebai because their speed and strength make them too important to withdraw from the war. (Chapters 205–218 and 228–236)
When a later clash pushes her to Phoenix's Nirvana and Meng Chuan breaks through to Marquis strength, their service is formally recognized: he becomes Marquis Eastcalm and she Marchioness Calmmoon. Liu Qiyue also assumes responsibility for Jiang State's Earth Net. Because she must still guard the capital and answer combat demands, she delegates routine work but requires daily intelligence dossiers and reserves major decisions for herself. The sharpshooter who once depended on a guard now commands an information network while remaining part of the couple's battlefield core. (Chapters 236–245)
Underground War and the Price of Victory
Marquis cultivation increases both Liu Qiyue's reach and the price of further growth. Meng Chuan obtains Blood Fire Crystals to strengthen her phoenix bloodline, and she continues refining her fire while managing Earth Net and raising two young cultivators. Her home is never insulated from the war: Meng An and Meng You eventually enter Archean Mountain, and Qiyue packs their clothing and necessities knowing she may not see them for years. She accepts the separation because becoming Godfiends is both their choice and the family's established answer to the demon threat. (Chapters 247, 256–274, and 320)
As underground demon activity expands, Liu Qiyue's greatest advantage becomes a danger the enemy can deliberately exploit. Phoenix's Nirvana multiplies her strength, but every use burns lifespan, with heavier attacks consuming it faster. During a mass assault she fires nine empowered arrows and loses twelve years in one battle; her accumulated losses pass thirty years. Archean Mountain consequently assigns her to defend a major city, where a brief eruption of top-Regis power can decide a catastrophe, even though the arrangement also gives demons a fixed population they can threaten to force her hand. (Chapters 323–332)
Liu Qiyue does not retreat into symbolic command. She raises her Essence Soul to the third level, becomes a Regis Godfiend, and later fights with Meng Chuan against the demon sage Nine Abyss. Her normal phoenix flames and archery pressure the wounded enemy; Phoenix's Nirvana pushes her higher when ordinary strength is insufficient. Humanity publicly titles her Queen Calmmoon, but the title reflects a widening burden rather than relief. Qin Wu explicitly warns that enemies now know where she guards and will design attacks around making her spend her life. (Chapters 369–370, 399–408)
That threat is realized at Snow Wind Pass. When several fifth Firmament demon monarchs attack, Liu Qiyue assumes the form of a vast flaming phoenix through the Phoenix Feather Robe and drives most of them back. Patriarch Poison Dragon then spreads his Blackwater Body across a city holding more than ten million people. Qiyue could preserve herself by narrowing her defense, but instead covers roughly a hundred kilometers, including the ground below the city, with phoenix flames. The expenditure accelerates the lifespan cost far beyond ordinary Phoenix's Nirvana. (Chapters 475–477)
Her flames awaken into Undying Divine Fire, overcome Poison Dragon's regenerating black water, and kill him, leaving his Water Essence Pearl in her custody. The victory saves the city but consumes more than two centuries of life, whitening her hair and leaving visible wrinkles. Qiyue tells Meng Chuan she does not regret exchanging part of her lifespan for millions of lives, then asks whether he will think less of her aged appearance. His answer and their decision to grow old together bring the cost back from military arithmetic to the marriage that must bear it. (Chapters 476–478)
With only decades of natural life left, Liu Qiyue spends a final year with her husband, children, and parents before entering the Millennium Instant slumber. She leaves Meng Chuan the Seventy-Two Liu Qiyue Paintings, annual portraits that preserve their shared years while she is frozen. Her withdrawal is not surrender: it is a strategic conservation of life until humanity can either win or needs her power again. For Meng Chuan, the empty place beside him and the paintings she leaves become a continuing reason to grow strong enough that she will not have to burn herself again. (Chapters 479–481 and 490)
Awakening to a Victorious World
Liu Qiyue remains asleep while the demon war ends and Meng Chuan spends millennia cultivating in accelerated time. When he wakes her 264 years later, her first questions are whether humanity won and what realm he has reached. Learning that he fought alone for more than two thousand subjective years changes the meaning of her preserved lifespan: the slumber saved her from death, but transferred loneliness to the partner who promised to be present when she opened her eyes. Her return restores the companionship he had lacked even after attaining outer-realm power. (Chapters 536 and 621–623)
She reenters a transformed family. Meng An has become a Tribulation Eminence, Meng You a Regis Godfiend, and the parents who raised them can also be awakened. Qiyue listens to the years she missed, welcomes her adult children, and resumes participating in decisions rather than remaining a relic from the war. Her concern shifts immediately to Meng Chuan's approaching sixth Heavenly Tribulation; although his achievements exceed her understanding of their youth, she still responds as the companion who knows confidence does not eliminate danger. (Chapters 623–624)
Meng Chuan then administers Fire Origins Liquid, a rare treasure selected specifically for her phoenix lineage. It transforms her thin inherited bloodline until it approaches that of a pure-blooded phoenix, raises her life essence to a lifespan of roughly 4,300 years, and makes her natural flames strong enough to severely injure an Imperial Lord. The change restores much of her youthful face but leaves her long hair white, a feature she keeps while smiling toward Meng Chuan rather than treating it as a defect to erase. (Chapters 621 and 624–625)
The transformation does not instantly grant mastery. It changes the conditions under which she can cultivate: insights into the fire lineage arise much more naturally, her efficiency increases by more than tenfold, and even passive growth can strengthen her bloodline. Liu Qiyue responds with the diligence she had shown since the Dao Academy, spending Meng Chuan's seclusion in focused cultivation partly to control her fear for him. When he returns after surviving the sixth Heavenly Tribulation, her relief is joined by concern for how his new freedom can support deserving Godfiends and their descendants without turning family affection into unlimited privilege. (Chapters 626 and 635)
White Avian Hall and Final Ascension
In the centuries that follow, Liu Qiyue remains based in Archean Eon Realm while Meng Chuan's avatars operate across the River of Spacetime. She becomes the person with whom he can discuss threats that vastly exceed their former battlefield, including Guild Master Darkstar's ambush and White Avian Hall's struggles. Her questions are not ceremonial: she tests how he escaped, what powerful enemies value, and how much danger remains to his true body. Their old pattern persists at a new scale—he confronts distant hazards, while she gives those hazards a human measure and insists that survival still matters. (Chapters 647, 683–684)
Liu Qiyue delays her Imperial Lord breakthrough until she possesses a seventh-level Essence Soul, even though her transformed bloodline could force the advance earlier. This choice favors a stronger foundation over speed. After roughly half a year of seclusion she succeeds, having already reached the middle-stage Heaven Earth realm in technique, and celebrates with Meng Chuan in an intimate outing rather than a public ceremony. She credits both the extraordinary conditions he secured and his regular cultivation guidance, while refusing to use those advantages as an excuse for lower standards. (Chapters 653 and 696–697)
Her own advancement never erases the anxiety of being married to an Essence Soul Tribulation cultivator. Before Meng Chuan's seventh Heavenly Tribulation, she waits through uncertainty despite knowing that each successful step benefits their world. Later, when his Essence Soul World begins evolving toward the eighth realm, she privately wishes he could postpone the risk, then accepts that courage and perseverance are intrinsic to his path. Her support is therefore not effortless approval: it is the repeated choice to honor his cultivation while living with the possibility that it will take him from her. (Chapters 710 and 759)
During their later life, Liu Qiyue and Meng Chuan use his command of spacetime to watch their world's hidden history together. She proposes beginning with the realm's birth and preserving the lives and eras omitted from written records, extending the compassion that once made her shield Snow Wind Pass into an act of remembrance. Although her role is no longer centered on constant combat, she remains an active partner in how Meng Chuan understands power, history, and the people their victories were meant to protect. (Chapters 749 and 759)
When the eighth Heavenly Tribulation finally descends, Meng Chuan tells only Liu Qiyue. She recognizes the moment from his expression, agrees not to alarm their parents or children, embraces him, and promises to wait. For eleven days she keeps the secret and remains alone in the study; on the twelfth morning, she senses Archean Eon Realm transforming and sees him return under the rising sun. Their final exchange returns to the promise underlying every arc of her life: survival and victory matter because they allow the two of them, and the world they defended, to remain together. (Chapters 762 and 766)
Appearance and personality
Liu Qiyue is introduced as a red-dressed girl practicing archery, with an animated expression and quick, teasing speech around Meng Chuan. As a field Godfiend she wears brighter cyan-red combat robes, carries a bow and quiver, and is repeatedly associated with the heat and light of phoenix flames. Her cultivation preserves a youthful appearance until the extreme lifespan loss at Snow Wind Pass turns her long hair snow-white and leaves some wrinkles. Fire Origins Liquid later reduces the wrinkles, but her white hair remains. (Chapters 1, 136, 478, and 623–625)
Her warmth is paired with disciplined judgment. She cooks and jokes in private, worries openly for family, and finds happiness in small outings even after reaching the Imperial Lord realm. In battle she can detach that tenderness from immediate fear long enough to hold position, choose viable targets, or spend her own lifespan for civilians. She is neither indifferent to the cost nor regretful of the choice: the source repeatedly shows her acknowledging fear, aging, separation, and possible bereavement while still acting according to the duty she and Meng Chuan share. (Chapters 105, 155, 478–480, 623, 697, and 759–766)
Abilities and cultivation
Liu Qiyue's cultivation combines elite archery with an inherited Phoenix Divine Body. Her progression runs from mortal Quintessential Energy and self-developed arrow techniques through the Realm of Intent, Great Solar and Marquis Godfiend stages, a third-level and later seventh-level Essence Soul, the Regis realm, and finally the Imperial Lord realm. The bloodline supplies fire and extraordinary growth potential, but her accuracy, tactical positioning, judgment, and willingness to bear Phoenix's Nirvana's cost are learned qualities rather than automatic gifts. (Chapters 1, 57–68, 110–127, 369–370, 478, 624–625, and 697)
Archery and ranged control
Qiyue develops several mortal killer moves before her bloodline awakens. Seven Star Strafe expends substantial Quintessential Energy to release a sequence in which each arrow is faster than the last; even Meng Chuan, familiar with her shooting since childhood, initially fails at the sixth arrow. Triple Phantom Arrow and her other early techniques establish the speed and volume that make sharpshooters dangerous, while also exposing their central limitation: they need space and protection because a close-range attacker can bypass the barrage. (Chapter 1)
At Godfiend levels, her arrows carry phoenix flames, making their penetrative force secondary to the fire delivered into a target. She can fire multiple arrows together, kill or wound several second Firmament demon monarchs in one volley, and threaten enemies far beyond ordinary Godfiend range. Domains, barriers, and mobile opponents can weaken or evade her shots, and a large enough training range is necessary even for practice. These constraints make coordination essential: allies hold or expose enemies while she selects the targets where ranged pressure produces the greatest battlefield effect. (Chapters 57–59, 126, 140, and 155)
Her later archery scales with both cultivation and Phoenix's Nirvana. Empowered arrows can decide attacks across a major city, but firing them burns lifespan in proportion to their power and number. Nine such arrows cost twelve years during one battle. By the Regis realm her normal strength is comparable to a peak Regis Godfiend, while her empowered attacks reach much higher; nevertheless, her defensive capability remains weaker than her offense, so enemies who survive the barrage or force prolonged expenditure can still endanger her. (Chapters 323–332 and 407)
Phoenix Divine Body and phoenix flames
The Phoenix Divine Body cannot be acquired through ordinary cultivation. Qiyue inherits a dormant bloodline through ancestry linked to the Gongsun family, and it awakens under the pressure of Eastcalm's invasion. Once active, the bloodline heats her body and infuses arrows with flame. Archean Mountain then supplies the appropriate formula, intent legacy, treasured lands, and specialist instruction. The body is naturally aligned with the Fire Dao; as her realm rises, its phoenix flames become stronger without requiring a separate Black Metal Sutra technique. (Chapters 57–58, 63, 68, 89, 107, and 122)
At Great Solar strength, she can restrict extreme heat to a thirty-foot region, showing deliberate control rather than indiscriminate burning. Phoenix flames wrap her bow and arrows, burn targets after impact, form larger defensive regions, and at higher levels contest hostile elemental bodies. The Phoenix Feather further purifies the bloodline, Blood Fire Crystals support Marquis cultivation, and Fire Origins Liquid later transforms its life essence to near-pure-blood quality. Each resource amplifies an inherited foundation; none replaces the realm, Essence Soul, or technique insight needed to control it. (Chapters 122, 155, 216, 247, and 621–625)
After the Fire Origins Liquid transformation, Qiyue's naturally emitted flame can severely injure an Imperial Lord, her fire-lineage insights arrive more readily, and her cultivation efficiency increases by more than tenfold. She still waits for a seventh-level Essence Soul and adequate technique realm before becoming an Imperial Lord, reaching the middle-stage Heaven Earth realm rather than relying on bloodline force alone. The corpus expects easy progress toward a perfected Imperial Lord but explicitly treats a future Tribulation breakthrough as uncertain. (Chapters 625, 635, 653, and 697)
Phoenix's Nirvana
Phoenix's Nirvana is the Phoenix Divine Body's forbidden life-burning state. Activation greatly raises Qiyue's strength and the quantity and intensity of phoenix flames she can release. Its cost is not a fixed fee: maintaining the state consumes lifespan even at low output, while firing powerful arrows or covering a vast area accelerates the burn. This allows her to match top Regis or higher combatants temporarily, but repeated use permanently shortens the life available for cultivation, family, and later battles. (Chapters 92, 122, 199, 236–240, 323–332, and 407)
Snow Wind Pass demonstrates both the state and its extreme limit. Through the Phoenix Feather Robe, Qiyue becomes a ten-thousand-foot flaming phoenix, scatters a group of fifth Firmament demon monarchs, and spreads fire across and beneath a city seventy-five kilometers wide. Protecting roughly a hundred-kilometer region against Patriarch Poison Dragon's black water burns her lifespan several times faster than simply maintaining the state. The nine-second battle costs more than two hundred years, leaving her with only a few natural decades despite victory. (Chapters 475–478)
The technique has no shown way to restore spent lifespan through Qiyue's own cultivation. Her later recovery comes from suspension and an external treasure, Fire Origins Liquid, not from reversing Phoenix's Nirvana. Even after her lifespan is extended, the earlier loss remains central to how Meng Chuan evaluates risk. At her latest state she has a far stronger bloodline and Imperial Lord cultivation, but the corpus does not show her using Phoenix's Nirvana again or establish its revised cost after transformation. (Chapters 479–481, 621–625, and 697)
Undying Divine Fire
Under the pressure of Poison Dragon's attack, Qiyue's phoenix flames transform into Undying Divine Fire. The new fire overcomes the Blackwater Body's cycle of water evaporating into gas and condensing again, allowing her to destroy an enemy whose survival otherwise depends on repeated physical reformation. It also enables her to seize the Water Essence Pearl after the kill. The corpus establishes this interaction and result but does not give a complete activation formula separate from her Phoenix Divine Body, Phoenix's Nirvana, and the crisis that triggers the awakening. (Chapters 476–478)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Phoenix bloodline awakening | 57 | Mortal danger at Blazing Sun Castle awakens her inherited Phoenix Divine Body, adding phoenix flames to her arrows. |
| Great Solar Godfiend | 126 | Reaches the Great Solar realm before leaving Archean Mountain; her principal strength remains the phoenix flames rather than raw Quintessential Essence. |
| Phoenix's Nirvana | 236–237 | First releases the bloodline's deeper power, temporarily reaching peak-Marquis combat strength while continuously burning lifespan. |
| Dharma Domain realm | 350 | Phoenix Flight and earlier Nirvana epiphanies help her fire-and-archery technique reach the Dharma Domain realm. |
| Regis Godfiend | 369 | A third-level Essence Soul lets her enter the Seamless realm; Phoenix's Nirvana can now raise her to Creation-level combat power. |
| Peak Regis / large-scale Phoenix's Nirvana | 475–478 | Reaches peak Regis and protects Snow Wind Pass as a vast flaming phoenix, but the nine-second effort consumes over two hundred years of lifespan. |
| Undying Divine Fire | 477 | Her phoenix flames transform under Poison Dragon's pressure and stop his Blackwater Body from endlessly reforming; the source gives no separate repeatable activation formula. |
| Millennium Instant slumber | 480 | Her remaining power and lifespan are sealed in suspended animation; access is unavailable until she is awakened. |
| Awakened from slumber | 623 | Meng Chuan ends the 264-year suspension, restoring access to her Regis cultivation with the earlier lifespan loss still unresolved. |
| Near-pure phoenix bloodline | 624–625 | Fire Origins Liquid permanently elevates her life essence, lengthens her lifespan to about 4,300 years, and makes her natural flames dangerous to Imperial Lords. |
| Imperial Lord | 697 | After attaining a seventh-level Essence Soul and middle-stage Heaven Earth technique, she advances naturally rather than forcing the breakthrough through bloodline alone. |
