Bai Yaoyue

Bai Yaoyue is a Creation Supremacy who leads Black Sand Grotto-Heaven during the demon war and serves as the Bai family's feared matriarch. Her choices join institutional survival, clan discipline, and personal cultivation: she helps coordinate humanity's defense, controls whether Bai Nianyun can reunite with her husband, and later uses the peace secured by Meng Chuan to reach the Heaven Earth technique realm.

Biography

Sect survival and the Bai family dispute

Bai Yaoyue enters the story through a projection at a conference with Qin Wu and Xu Yingwu. The three sects can no longer replace Godfiends as quickly as the expanding World Entrances kill them, and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven has at most two centuries before exhausting its defense. Although she distrusts Two World Island and challenges the assumption that scattered demons can be contained, she ultimately joins the unanimous decision to abandon small and medium-sized passes after a two-year preparation period. The compromise accepts greater danger to mortals in order to prevent the Godfiend forces from bleeding out before a later generation can fight. (Chapters 160–162)

Her authority is more personal when Qin Wu accuses Chunyu Mu of framing Meng Dajiang. Bai Yaoyue publicly rejects an unsupported deduction against one of her sect's Godfiends, then privately subjects Chunyu Mu's Essence Soul to freezing pressure until he confesses that Marquis Martial Yang ordered the attack. She punishes both men with dangerous wartime service rather than surrendering them to another sect. The decision clears the truth while preserving Black Sand Grotto-Heaven's jurisdiction, but it also leaves Meng Dajiang and Bai Nianyun separated because Bai Yaoyue still regards their marriage as damage to the Grand Yin lineage and the Bai clan's future. (Chapters 227–228)

Meng Chuan's war record eventually changes that calculation. When he claims a promised reward by asking that his mother be released, Bai Yaoyue considers giving up the unique Dragonize Pool instead, then rejects that option as a loss to the sect and an unnecessary offense against a young Regis with exceptional potential. She permits the reunion, writes the decision to Bai Nianyun, and later investigates new evidence against Marquis Martial Yang; his magically compelled answers expose actual collusion with the demons, leading the three Black Sand Supremacies to execute him. Bai Yaoyue still lectures the reunited couple, but her concession converts a family grievance into a durable connection with the defender who has changed the war. (Chapters 407–412)

Final war and the Heaven Earth threshold

Through the decisive phase of the invasion, Bai Yaoyue helps govern Black Sand Grotto-Heaven, awaken its sleeping Regis Godfiends, and coordinate intelligence with the other sects. Her true body protects her own headquarters while projections attend distant councils; when two demon sages attack separate world membranes, she can observe the breaches through Black Sand Grotto-Heaven's Heaven-Peeking Mirror but cannot cross tens of thousands of kilometers before they open. Her role therefore remains strategically important yet geographically constrained. When Meng Chuan destroys the final invading force, she recognizes that his rapid rise has achieved what the older leaders could only prepare for, ending the crisis that dictated her sect and clan decisions. (Chapters 283–284, 459–460, and 531–535)

Peace opens the cultivation path that wartime leadership could not. Bai Yaoyue accepts Meng Chuan's offer to enter Earth Cloud Mystic Realm because she is already close to creating a Heaven Earth realm ultimate technique. After more than a thousand years there, she succeeds in that technique breakthrough but cannot advance her sixth-level Essence Soul despite trying every suitable special cultivation ground. With fewer than two hundred years of life remaining, she chooses to return home in hope that the change will trigger insight; if it does not, she is prepared to accept Meng Chuan's promised transformation into an Imperial Lord-level special lifeform. Her latest state is therefore alive as a Heaven Earth Supremacy whose natural Imperial Lord advancement remains blocked by her Essence Soul. (Chapters 646–647 and 653)

Appearance and personality

Bai Yaoyue is consistently associated with white robes and a cold presence. Her first projection is a white-robed woman whose chill is evident despite the body being illusory, while her true body cultivates beneath a gigantic silver crescent moon. More than a millennium later, her sideburns have turned white, making her age visible even though her bearing remains composed. (Chapters 160, 227, 646, and 653)

She is proud, stern, and institutionally minded. Godfiends fear her, and Bai Nianyun describes her as protective of the Bai family collectively while valuing individual members chiefly for talent and strength. That outlook explains both her anger at a wasted Grand Yin prospect and her respect for Meng Chuan once his contribution becomes undeniable. Old age softens her manner rather than erasing her standards: upon returning from Earth Cloud Mystic Realm she speaks mildly, acknowledges her limits, and accepts an unglamorous contingency without pretending that effort guarantees success. (Chapters 227–228, 408–409, and 653)

Abilities and cultivation

Bai Yaoyue advances from Grand Yin Holy Hall Master to Creation Supremacy and eventually to the Heaven Earth technique realm. Her documented strengths combine Grand Yin cultivation, a sixth-level Essence Soul, illusion and projection methods, and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven's formations and institutional resources. The corpus establishes these effects but does not name her Godfiend body or provide a complete direct duel from which her maximum combat range can be measured.

Grand Yin cultivation

As a Regis Godfiend, Bai Yaoyue served as Grand Yin Holy Hall Master; she relinquished that office after becoming a Creation Supremacy. Her cultivation manifests as Grand Yin Suspended Moon, a gigantic crescent whose silver moonlight dwarfs the smaller phenomena produced by Grand Yin Holy Maidens. When questioning Chunyu Mu, an invisible cold penetrates his body and Essence Soul and intensifies until he believes refusal will mean death. The scene demonstrates coercive soul pressure and precise control, but does not establish that the crescent automatically freezes every target in its visible area. (Chapter 227)

The Grand Yin lineage also shapes temperament and succession. Bai Nianyun understands its progression as making cultivators colder and less attached, while marriage and childbirth interfere with the path expected of a Holy Maiden. This explanation comes from Bai Nianyun's understanding of the lineage rather than a mechanical lecture by Bai Yaoyue, so the exact physiological cause remains unspecified. Bai Yaoyue's later Heaven Earth breakthrough confirms continued advancement in her overall technique, but the source does not name a new Grand Yin move created at that threshold. (Chapters 408–409 and 647–653)

Essence Soul, illusions, and projections

Bai Yaoyue possesses a sixth-level Essence Soul by the later war. Although illusion is not described as her principal specialization, her soul level lets her briefly control Marquis Martial Yang, whose second-level Essence Soul cannot resist, and compel truthful answers about collusion. The interrogation also establishes a limit: current human methods cannot similarly control a Godfiend with a third-level Essence Soul, and using illusions to expose private memories risks institutional outrage, so the three Supremacies reserve it for an accused traitor whose actions already justify investigation. (Chapters 410–411)

She frequently uses an illusory projection for councils while her true body protects Black Sand Grotto-Heaven. The projection speaks, observes, and represents her authority, but it is not presented as a second full-strength Creation body. Her later cultivation exposes a different soul limitation: even Earth Cloud Mystic Realm's special lands cannot force her sixth-level Essence Soul to the seventh level required for a natural Imperial Lord breakthrough. Achieving a Heaven Earth technique therefore advances one condition while leaving the other unresolved. (Chapters 160–162, 407–408, 459, and 653)

Creation authority and later progression

During the war, Bai Yaoyue is described as Black Sand Grotto-Heaven's strongest expert and one of humanity's three leading Creation Supremacies. That status gives her World Power, a long natural lifespan, and command over the sect's defenses, intelligence, and sleeping Godfiends. Communal treasures such as the Heaven-Peeking Mirror expand what the sect can observe, but their effects are equipment- and formation-derived rather than Bai Yaoyue's innate perception; even with the mirror, distance prevents her from stopping simultaneous membrane breaches in seconds. (Chapters 218, 283–284, 408, and 459–460)

Archean Mountain later offers her access to the Star Cluster Building and Heart Sea Palace under a protective oath because its leaders consider her the Creation Supremacy with the best cultivation potential. Earth Cloud Mystic Realm ultimately helps her create a Heaven Earth realm ultimate technique. Her latest demonstrated progression ends there: she remains a Supremacy with a sixth-level Essence Soul, and transformation into a special lifeform is only a future fallback if her natural breakthrough fails. (Chapters 416, 647, and 653)

Relationships

  • Bai Nianyun: Bai Yaoyue values Nianyun's Grand Yin talent but treats her marriage as a loss to the lineage. She eventually permits the reunion with Meng Dajiang after Meng Chuan's contribution changes the sect's interests, while never pretending to approve of the original choice.
  • Meng Chuan: Bai Yaoyue first knows Meng Chuan as Nianyun's distant son and later respects him as the Regis who removes the million-demon threat. His request resolves his parents' separation, and his control of Earth Cloud Mystic Realm later gives her the opportunity to reach the Heaven Earth realm.
  • Meng Dajiang: She regards Meng Dajiang as an unsuitable mortal husband for a gifted Grand Yin cultivator. Even after allowing him to reunite with Nianyun, she lectures him rather than reconciling personally.
  • Qin Wu: A rival-sect counterpart with whom Bai Yaoyue debates defense policy, exchanges intelligence, and coordinates against the demons. Their institutional suspicion persists, but both subordinate it to humanity's survival.
  • Meng Tiange and Mi Yu: Her fellow Black Sand Grotto-Heaven Supremacies. They defer to her future potential and share responsibility for sect policy, wartime deployments, and the judgment of Marquis Martial Yang.

Items

No distinct qualifying personal inventory is assigned to Bai Yaoyue in the item manifest. The Dragonize Pool, Heaven-Peeking Mirror, and other resources she considers or operates are communal Black Sand Grotto-Heaven holdings rather than her personal possessions.
