Meng Dajiang

Meng Dajiang is Meng Chuan's father, first saber instructor, and the mortal-world partner of Bai Nianyun. His genial identity as a restaurant owner conceals a Body Tempering Godfiend and Demon Annihilation Guild assassin whose sacrifices, separation from his wife, false accusation, and wartime patrol service repeatedly determine the loyalties and choices of his son.

Biography

A Father Building a Foundation

Meng Dajiang raises Meng Chuan after Bai Nianyun leaves Eastcalm, maintaining the public story that she died during a demon invasion. He combines affection with exacting instruction: rather than force his own method on the boy, he teaches saber fundamentals, oversees dangerous reaction drills, and uses his military experience to explain that mastery can come through either breadth or relentless depth. His guiding pressure is personal as well as martial. He promised Nianyun that he would raise their son well, yet cannot tell Meng Chuan that his mother remains alive. (Chapters 1–2, 6–8, 18–20, and 223)

His ordinary prosperity hides years of physical risk. Meng Dajiang and Liu Yebai leave Eastcalm for months at a time to perform Demon Annihilation Guild missions, and he returns thin, pale, and coughing blood after accumulating enough credit for an Iceheart Fruit. He considers the damage worthwhile because Meng Chuan's Godfiend foundation is his greatest priority. In a secret chamber he combines that fruit and an Astral Spirit Herb with the Godfiend Jade Marrow Liquid, then transfers the entire cache without explaining the dangers through which he obtained it. Meng Dajiang's hidden strength is exposed when Eastcalm is invaded. Seeing a demon monarch pursue his son, he abandons concealment, activates a forbidden spell, and confronts Demon Monarch Poison Pool head-on while Liu Yebai attacks from the flanks. The choice saves Meng Chuan but reveals that the amiable, overweight restaurant owner is a Body Tempering Godfiend. He asks his son to keep the secret because the lineage is weak, his own circumstances are sensitive, and open involvement with the clan would draw attention to a history he still cannot safely disclose. Once Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue are chosen for Archean Mountain, Dajiang accepts that protecting them now means letting them leave. He escorts his son to Archean City, watches the examinations, and returns home with the news that Meng Chuan placed first. He neither tries to control the couple's future nor uses his parental investment as a claim on them; with Liu Yebai, he agrees to keep their planned marriage quiet until they descend and can celebrate with their wider families. His role shifts from direct instructor to the secure family base from which both young Godfiends can advance. (Chapters 68–94 and 116–119)

Secrets, Accusation, and Wartime Service

Meng Dajiang helps arrange Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue's wedding at North River Pass, fussing over preparations with the same practical energy he once devoted to training. He later settles into their expanding household and helps care for Meng You and Meng An while the children's parents answer rescue missions. This support is not incidental: because Meng Chuan and Qiyue cannot withdraw from combat, Dajiang's willingness to become a daily caregiver lets the family endure the war without asking either frontline Godfiend to abandon responsibility. (Chapters 159–160, 202–218, and 228)

His buried marriage makes him a target when Marquis Martial Yang, jealous of Nianyun, uses illusion expert Chunyu Mu to frame him. Altered memories make Dajiang believe that he once colluded with the Skydemon Sect, so he confesses and accepts imprisonment rather than use Meng Chuan's reputation to resist Earth Net. In the dungeon, however, his attempt to spare his son disgrace finally forces him to reveal that Bai Nianyun lives and that the supposed tomb of Meng Chuan's mother was a cover. The revelation reinterprets decades of secrecy and ambition: his pursuit of strength was an effort to become acceptable to the Bai family and reunite the household. (Chapters 217–224)

Meng Chuan refuses to accept a confession that contradicts the father who raised him, carries Dajiang to Archean Mountain, and asks Qin Wu to inspect the case. Qin Wu finds the implanted memories and clears Dajiang's name. The outcome vindicates his hatred of demons but does not immediately restore Nianyun, because sect politics remain stronger than an ordinary Godfiend's wishes. Dajiang returns to family life with his secret known, while his son's determination to remedy the injustice becomes another long-term consequence of the marriage Dajiang had tried to keep from burdening him. As the demon war widens, Dajiang refuses to let age and family status excuse him from service. With Meng Chuan's help and access to manuals, he achieves Saber Intent and reaches the Great Solar stage of the Body Tempering lineage. He then volunteers as a Patroller Godfiend because the children are grown and Archean Mountain desperately lacks manpower. The posting places him in isolated wilderness where casualties are severe, but it also fulfills the duty that his earlier secrecy prevented him from performing openly. (Chapters 265, 274, 330–331, and 356–358)

Patrol, Reunion, and the War's End

Meng Dajiang spends years living in a small mountain hut with a tree demon servant, hunting the demon monarchs that prey on scattered settlements. His patrols become less frequent only as Meng Chuan's underground reconnaissance and killing reduce the enemy population. When recalled after three years, Dajiang refuses to let his son treat the earlier deaths as a personal failure: the Patrollers knowingly accepted danger, and their presence deterred attacks that would otherwise have killed billions. This exchange shows his mature role as both subordinate beneficiary of Meng Chuan's power and the father who can still correct the guilt attached to it. (Chapters 368 and 412)

Meng Chuan eventually uses Black Sand Grotto-Heaven's need for his help to demand that Nianyun be released from its restrictions. Dajiang cleans up the stubble and sloppy appearance acquired in the wilderness, then accompanies his son to bring her home. The reunion resolves the goal that shaped his Body Tempering cultivation, assassinations, secrecy, and endurance. He does not resent that his own strength failed to force the outcome; seeing wife and son embrace leaves him feeling that he has no regrets. With major wartime pressure reduced, he and Nianyun travel the world together rather than surrender their restored marriage to another assignment. (Chapters 407–417)

The peace he reaches is still bounded by mortal aging. Dajiang and Nianyun say farewell to Qiyue before her Millennium Instant slumber, and decades later he gathers with the family as Meng Chuan prepares to enter the outer realm. He encourages his son to go, recalling that he too once left home for military service rather than use affection to demand safety. As his own lifespan nears its end, he initially sees no point in sleeping for a future he may never reach, but accepts when Meng Chuan explains that longevity treasures can make the promise concrete. He enters the Millennium Instant beside Liu Yebai; Nianyun follows a year later because a century awake without him would be too lonely. This choice differs from Qiyue's wartime preservation. Dajiang is not reserving a decisive weapon but trusting that the son he once protected can now carry his parents into an era beyond their natural lives. It closes the inversion at the heart of their relationship: the father who spent his body and resources on Meng Chuan allows the adult son to take responsibility for his future. (Chapters 549–550)

A Family Beyond Mortal Lifespans

When Dajiang awakens, Meng Chuan has already survived millennia of accelerated cultivation and ended the demon invasion. Dajiang's first response is delight that he can again see his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, tempered by concern that any longevity treasure might cost too much. He tells Meng Chuan to prioritize the younger cultivators if necessary, repeating the self-denying logic with which he once earned natural treasures for his child. Only after Meng Chuan assures him of the cost does he drink the prepared liquid. (Chapters 623–624)

The treasure does more than preserve his age: it raises his life essence to a Supremacy-level lifeform and extends his lifespan to two thousand years, though it does not grant an Imperial Lord's law comprehension. Dajiang is astonished by the strength of his renewed body but remains more interested in the household it lets him rejoin. At the family meal he learns that Meng An has a wife and son in Earth Cloud Mystic Realm and struggles to comprehend that Meng Chuan now controls a realm containing thousands of Imperial Lords and Tribulation Eminences. By the later chapters, Dajiang's significance lies less in another personal breakthrough than in the family continuity his survival represents. He is counted among Archean Eon Realm's Supremacy-level residents, lives beside Nianyun, and watches children once threatened by Eastcalm's demons become a lineage spanning other realms. Even Bai Yaoyue eventually recognizes that Nianyun's marriage to an apparently ordinary mortal produced the person who changed her world and fate. Dajiang's latest established condition is therefore alive, restored, and embedded in the peaceful multigenerational family his earlier sacrifices were meant to make possible. (Chapters 625 and 647)

Appearance and personality

Meng Dajiang is initially a fat, cheerful-looking middle-aged man whose restaurant ownership and genial manner help disguise his Godfiend identity. Dangerous missions repeatedly strip away that softness: after one journey he returns thin, pale, and coughing blood, and years of wilderness patrol leave him leaner, muscular, stubbled, and casually sloppy. As a Great Solar Body Tempering Godfiend he appears to be in his thirties, while later natural aging brings wrinkles before his life essence is renewed. (Chapters 1, 20, 63–64, 159, 412, 546, and 624)

He is affectionate, self-effacing, and stubbornly willing to spend himself for family. Dajiang rarely advertises sacrifice, conceals pain rather than make Meng Chuan feel indebted, and worries more about embarrassing his son than about his own execution. His humor remains even in old age, especially with Liu Yebai, but it does not signal passivity. He joins the army, becomes an assassin, uses a forbidden spell against a stronger demon monarch, and volunteers for lethal patrol duty whenever those choices can protect people he considers his responsibility. Abilities and cultivation

Meng Dajiang follows the Body Tempering Godfiend lineage, an experimental human system created after the demon invasion to imitate the strength of powerful demonic bodies. It focuses on the physical body rather than Quintessential Essence and requires large quantities of natural treasures, yet its known path originally ends at the Great Solar realm. Dajiang chooses it because he is too old and lacks the credit for the Godfiend Blood Pool, hoping that breaking its limit would make Bai Nianyun's family accept him. He remains an Indestructible Godfiend for decades before reaching Great Solar after achieving Saber Intent. (Chapters 63–65, 219, 224, 265, 274, and 412)

Saber cultivation

Dajiang's saber foundation comes from mortal cultivation and ten years of military service. He concentrates on three practical aspects—killing, defense, and movement—and reaches Saber Force during the same period in which he meets Nianyun. This narrow, battlefield-tested route becomes one of the examples he and Fairy Meng give Meng Chuan when explaining that depth and breadth are both viable, provided a cultivator understands the weaknesses of specialization. His own later access to manuals gathered by his son helps him progress from Force to Saber Intent despite his age. (Chapters 19–20, 37–38, 65, and 274)

In combat, Dajiang uses the saber to meet a demon monarch directly while Liu Yebai attacks from concealment. His technique and body let him absorb or deflect blows that a scouting specialist should not take, making him the stable front of their two-person formation. The corpus does not name a signature saber art or show him reaching a realm beyond Saber Intent. At his latest ordinary cultivation state, he is a Great Solar Body Tempering Godfiend whose wilderness duties involve weaker demon monarchs rather than opponents comparable to the leading Regis or Creation experts. Sanguine body and forbidden spell

The Body Tempering lineage manifests around Dajiang as a sanguine aura and exceptional physical resistance. Demon Monarch Poison Pool's black-fog serpents lose roughly ninety percent of their effect when they enter the aura, and the remaining poison has little influence because Dajiang does not depend on vulnerable Quintessential Essence circulation and can withstand it with his body. This makes him effective against poison and suitable for direct collision, but it does not make him stronger overall than established inner-sect Godfiend paths. (Chapters 63–65)

His forbidden Godfiend spell drives the body into a bloodshot, frenzied state and raises his fighting power enough to contest a second Firmament demon monarch. The cost is visible physical mass: he loses more than five kilograms during the short pursuit and clash, describing extended use as spending the meat on his body. Liu Yebai's flanking attacks and Poison Pool's own forbidden spell are necessary to produce a draw, so the encounter demonstrates both Dajiang's endurance and the hard limit of fighting above his ordinary level. Supremacy-level life essence

After awakening from the Millennium Instant, Dajiang consumes an external longevity liquid supplied by Meng Chuan. The treasure restructures his life essence, restores youth, grants strength sufficient to shatter a mountain, and gives him a two-thousand-year lifespan. Meng Chuan describes the result as a Supremacy-level lifeform comparable in level to special creatures born at that stage. It is not a cultivation breakthrough earned through law comprehension, and Dajiang would still need to cultivate independently to become an Imperial Lord. (Chapter 624)

This transformation supersedes the physical limits that constrained his Body Tempering path, but the corpus does not show him developing new named techniques from it. His latest confirmed power is therefore a greatly elevated body and lifespan rather than demonstrated Supremacy combat mastery. The distinction matters because the treasure perfects his life to a higher category; it does not retroactively make his earlier saber and Godfiend attainments equal to those of a normally cultivated Creation Supremacy. • Meng Chuan: Dajiang's son, student, and greatest pride. Dajiang raises him alone, risks his life for cultivation resources, reveals his Godfiend identity to save him, and later accepts rescue, vindication, reunion, and longevity from the adult son he prepared to surpass him.
• Bai Nianyun: His wife, whom he meets after military service and lives with for eight years before Black Sand Grotto-Heaven forces their separation. His wish to become worthy of reuniting with her drives decades of cultivation; they are finally allowed to live and travel together.
• Liu Qiyue: Raised in his household and treated as his own child before becoming his daughter-in-law. He supports her departure for Archean Mountain, helps arrange her wedding, and cares for her children during frontline service.
