Rule through abuse

Donald co-led an abusive survivor faction with his daughter Abby, hoarding equipment and presenting predation as protection. He sexually abused and killed Chris's sister and victimized other group members, while Neil, his nephew, fled with his party rather than remain under their control. Donald pursued them to Haven, fought Christen, and inflicted a cursed wound that resisted ordinary recovery. (Chapters 145, 147–148, 150)

When Jake Thayne confronted the faction, Donald tried to control the account of what had happened until Chris contradicted him. He then fought with a blood-red scimitar, curses, energy waves, and a spectral victim bound into the attack, while Abby intervened to protect him. After Jake gained the advantage, Donald pleaded for his life; Jake destroyed his head and upper body, ending his rule and allowing the remaining survivors to reorganize. (Chapters 150, 152)

Appearance and personality

Donald has a shaved head, black beard, and a clear family resemblance to Abby. He carries a red scimitar. His outward calm and claims of concern conceal a manipulative, predatory, and vindictive nature; when his own survival is threatened, the confident facade gives way to cowardly bargaining.

Path, class, and abilities

Donald's postmortem identification records an Aspiring Blade of Debauchery class and a Salacious Malefactor profession. He reinforces sword attacks with blood-red energy, sends cutting waves at range, produces bloody tears and bodily distortions, and uses curses that can linger in a victim's wounds. A defensive manifestation involving a mural and the specter of a dead girl shows that his power is entangled with his abuse. Abby's intervention is necessary to keep him in the fight, and none of these defenses withstand Jake's decisive ranged attack.
