Biography

Return to Earth and the founding of Haven

Abby begins the Tutorial cooperating effectively with Neil’s group, but her longstanding sense of inferiority toward her cousin and the power gained under Kallox harden into obsession with surpassing him and taking his Orb. She and her father conceal their cruelty until strong enough to coerce survivors, then pursue Neil to Haven with an army and demand everyone’s equipment and submission. Abby overwhelms Neil in their space-magic duel and nearly kills Levi, but Haven’s layered barriers delay her until Jake returns. Her rage-driven final blast kills many of her own followers, and Jake kills her; the survivors’ testimony later establishes that fear and her leadership profession, not loyalty, sustained the group. Abby is a relatively small young woman who appears about eighteen or nineteen, wears a high-quality embroidered robe and several pieces of jewelry, and floats slightly above the ground. She alternates smiles with abrupt abuse, displaying volatility, sadism, entitlement, and deep resentment toward Neil.
