Great Expansion Heavenly Plain Scripture
The Great Expansion Heavenly Plain Scripture is the evolved Dharma relic of the Heaven Expanding Profound Talisman, capable of extensive calculations of hidden causes and conditional futures. Suppressed in Wanlin Heaven's Exalted Yang Immutable Palace, it becomes accessible to Lu Jiangxian through a resonant remnant of deduction power. Despite its name, it is a sentient relic rather than an ordinary bound cultivation book.
History
A confined talisman sends out a remnant
The Heaven Expanding Profound Talisman spends an unknown period under the palace's ninety-nine layers of suppression. It continually calculates a route to escape. An early resonance with Lu's bestowed talisman qi briefly raises its inherent rank and lets a fragment of its mystic slip free. That fragment reaches Liu Changdie and supplies projected future scenarios that he understands as a supposed previous life. Lu later intercepts the remnant through the mirror's resonance and uses its finite deduction power. Neither man thereby takes possession of the main talisman. (Chapters 133 and 1568)
The original plan would have guided Changdie toward unveiling Wanlin Heaven and releasing the talisman. Interception of the remnant changes that course; Changdie's own lineage is subsequently severed and he survives through Stored Metal cultivation. When Lu finally reaches the empty palace, he recognizes the familiar power he has long sought. Examination reveals that the object has already transformed into Great Expansion Heavenly Plain Scripture. (Chapters 1567–1568)
Remote access and the doomed calculations
Lu uses his remaining silver deduction power to resonate with the suppressed relic. The connection reveals its history and feeds its calculations into his divine sense. He identifies it as a Heaven-Governing Order associated with Metallic Essence and the Golden Positions. The great powers keep it confined in the palace to prevent its return to its rightful position. (Chapter 1568)
During the True Monarchs’ working in Wanlin Heaven, Lu uses the scripture to examine the Li Family’s prospects. All 1,891 futures end in calamity; in 76, Ximing survives the clan’s destruction for a time but is eventually executed after intervening in the mortal world. The scripture cannot clearly resolve choices made by Dao Embryo immortals or every major intervention by Lu. He sends memories drawn from the futures to the family and creates new variables in an effort to alter the outcome. (Chapters 1604–1605)
As the Banished Winds move toward the Underworld, Lu cuts the direct connection. His conclusions and arrangements remain, but access to the main scripture ends. The separation marks the difference between a temporary use of an externally confined relic and permanent possession of an all-knowing method. (Chapter 1605)
Abilities and properties
Deduction across causes and possible futures
The scripture calculates hidden mysteries, traces causes and outcomes, and projects matters not yet settled. It also preserves heavenly secrets and is associated with Heaven-Governing, Metallic Essence, and the Golden Positions. Considerable sentience underlies its own long effort to escape, while its present confined behavior includes repeated warnings and calculations for the powers controlling it. (Chapter 1568)
The scripture calculates possible futures rather than fixed outcomes. Lu judges that its deductions cover most schemes of powerful cultivators, but they cannot clearly resolve the choices of Dao Embryo immortals or every major intervention he may make. Futures that expose his true body dissolve into chaos beyond the shattered mainland. (Chapters 1604–1605)
Main relic, remnant, and suppression
The silver mystic received through Changdie is a detached and expendable remnant, much weaker than direct access to the main relic. Its resonance eventually enables that access, but earlier use does not equate to ownership of the complete scripture. Lu's later interpretation ties an Order to borrowed inherent rank from a Golden Position and explains why removing this one from confinement could let it vanish back into Heaven-Governing. Those constraints place the artifact within a contest among greater powers and make its custody fundamentally different from keeping an ordinary manuscript. (Chapters 133 and 1568)
Ownership and custody
| Holder or custodian | Relationship to the item |
|---|---|
| Exalted Yang Immutable Palace and the powers maintaining its suppression | Confine the main relic in Wanlin Heaven through ninety-nine profound gates. |
| Liu Changdie | Receives a detached deduction mystic and projected memories; never thereby owns the complete scripture. |
| Lu Jiangxian | Intercepts the remnant, later borrows remote access to the main relic, and severs that connection after calculating conditional futures. |
