Si Xunhui

Si Xunhui uses his position in both the Si Family and Li Xizhi’s circle to build ties between the families, eventually becoming a prospective match for Li Queyi.

Biography

A Young Disciple among Great Families

Xunhui first travels to Moongaze Lake as Li Xizhi’s disciple, accompanying Quan Yuduan on sect business. He is openly impressed by the Li Family’s standing and reports private praise of his master’s accomplishments, though he had been told not to spread it more widely. When the party reaches a dangerous underground palace, Xunhui gives Li Zhouluo a careful account of the trials and records their hazards on a jade slip so the sect can learn from the expedition. (Chapters 1216–1219 and 1245)

Xunhui grows into a trusted intermediary, with strong swordsmanship, knowledge of sect customs, and a more complete understanding of political events than his seniors. He deliberately cultivates the Li Family’s goodwill while remaining loyal to his master. When Si Yuanli returns to the Azure Pond Sect, Xunhui and Si Tongyi are among those who greet him. Xunhui later accompanies Yuanli to visit the Li Family, where Yuanli proposes him as a match for Li Queyi. The families leave the outcome to their personal compatibility, and Xunhui welcomes the chance to meet her at New Rain Scattered Reefs. (Chapters 1498–1499, 1556 and 1559)

Standing with Li Queyi

At New Rain Scattered Reefs, Xunhui stands by Queyi when a former senior tries to flatter her while belittling Li Quewan. Queyi rebukes the cultivator for sowing discord within the family; Xunhui follows with a pointed glance and a warm show of support. Their families have proposed a match, but the outcome is left to mutual liking rather than a completed marriage. (Chapters 1559 and 1601)

Appearance and personality

Xunhui is a handsome young man, usually seen with a sword at his waist. He is observant and politically astute, balancing respect for his family’s elders with an independent effort to maintain good relations with the Li Family. (Chapters 1216, 1556–1557, 1559 and 1601)

Abilities and cultivation

Xunhui’s swordsmanship and Dao attainment impress Quan Yuduan, and his knowledge of Azure Pond Sect customs and his family’s political interests makes him an effective envoy. His precise realm and personal signature technique are unknown. (Chapters 1245 and 1498–1499)
