Li Queyi
Li Queyi is a Jade True cultivator of the Li Family’s Yuandu lineage. Her kindness initially makes her vulnerable to fellow disciples’ demands, but she later learns to defend her boundaries and her family’s dignity.
Biography
Learning to refuse
Queyi is close to Quewan and brings her reassurance when accusations against Quewan’s brothers are resolved. She subsequently enters Purple Gale Peak under Lingyanzi, but her position is overshadowed by Quexi’s acceptance at wealthy Shepherd Peak. Her master and senior brothers repeatedly ask her for resources begged from home. Although she understands their desperation to attain Foundation, she grows ashamed and exhausted by the demands. She privately arranges an Eastern Sea assignment through a Xiao-family senior sister to escape the pressure. (Chapters 1052, 1189–1190 and 1252)
Zhouwei finds her gathering qi overseas and recognizes that her gentleness is being exploited. She explains that she helps because fellow disciples have elders and children depending on them, but he warns that retreating before every plea encourages further demands. He supplies cultivation resources and insists that she establish authority. Wun Wu also explains that Queyi could eventually succeed Lingyanzi and give his troubled peak a fresh beginning. (Chapters 1297–1299)
After Purple Smoke Gate withdraws, Queyi remains among its overseas disciples and gains Kuangyu’s favor. Having recently attained Foundation, she reunites with Quewan and proudly praises her progress. When Dharma Protector Yáng tries to flatter her by belittling Quewan’s bloodline, Queyi sharply rebukes the attempt to divide her family. She is also betrothed to Si Xunhui. Ximing later observes that her cultivation has caught up with her younger cousin’s. (Chapters 1552, 1601 and 1726)
Appearance and personality
She favors pink robes and has a round face and small, delicate ears. Initially gentle and reluctant to complain, she develops a more composed bearing and becomes willing to confront people who abuse her courtesy. (Chapters 1052, 1252 and 1601)
Abilities and cultivation
Queyi cultivates Jade True Qi, a lineage suited to the island formations for which she performs logistical work. She is explicitly at the third Qi stage before leaving for the sea and later reaches the sixth. She attains Foundation by the time Kuangyu receives her, though Kuangyu’s offer of a better method with a Purple Mansion path is an opportunity rather than an accomplished Purple breakthrough. (Chapters 1252, 1362 and 1601)
