Quan Yuduan

Quan Yuduan rises from a rural landlord family to become Li Xizhi’s first disciple, serving as the pavilion’s envoy and a practical administrator.

Biography

A Place in Jiutian Pavilion

Yuduan is a distant relative of Quan Yi, whose elderly mother asked Li Xizhi to find surviving Quan family members after Yi’s death. Li Xizhi brings Yuduan into the sect from a rural landlord household, where he had learned to read status and old grudges early. As a young disciple, he openly dislikes Yuan Chengzhao because of the man’s history with his master, but still follows Li Xizhi’s instructions and carries out his duties. (Chapters 1026–1027 and 1128)

An Envoy for His Master

Yuduan later travels between Jiutian Pavilion, the Southern Sea and Moongaze Lake on his master’s business. He reports Li Xizhi’s southern reforms, conveys private messages, and delivers the Glazed Pagoda of Unrestrained Boundary as a family gift, carefully explaining its training purpose and dangers before handing it over. His enthusiasm for leaving the cloistered pavilion is matched by growing responsibility as the person trusted to carry sensitive news. (Chapters 1216–1219, 1231, 1245 and 1299)

Managing the Market

Years later, Yuduan oversees market arrangements while Li Xizhi is away in seclusion. He shares new orders to reduce funds and labor for maintaining market towns, gathering spirit items and preserving stability. Watching Zhao Junwei and Si Xunhui outpace him in temperament, background or cultivation leaves him chastened, but he remains at his post and continues to relay information between the pavilion and its allies. (Chapters 1498–1499)

Appearance and personality

Yuduan has a round face and is often seen in red robes. He is lively and sometimes overreacts to news, but is loyal to Li Xizhi and takes responsibility when entrusted with a mission. (Chapters 1026, 1128 and 1498)

Abilities and cultivation

Yuduan is a trained cultivator who travels by wind, though his exact realm and personal signature technique remain unknown. His strengths are organizational: he can explain the workings of a complex training artifact, carry messages between distant families and supervise local market operations. (Chapters 1026, 1217 and 1499)

Relationships

  • Li Xizhi: His master, who brings him into the sect and entrusts him with sensitive errands.
  • Quan Yi: A distant family relative whose mother’s wish leads to Yuduan’s recruitment.
  • Zhao Junwei and Si Xunhui: Junior disciples whose strengths make Yuduan reflect on his own standing. (Chapter 1498)

Items

Yuduan carries the Glazed Pagoda of Unrestrained Boundary to the Li Family on Li Xizhi’s instructions, then explains its functions before the family takes custody. The pagoda is an inherited training artifact entrusted to him for delivery, not his personal property. (Chapter 1217)
