Qin Xian

Qin Xian rises from a humble background to become Azure Pond Sect’s master by attaching himself to its ruling factions. His ascent culminates in responsibility for defending Simin after the sect’s withdrawal, where his patrons’ political arrangements leave him to face Yang Zhuo. Biography

Advancement through factional service

Initially a confidant of Tantai Jin, Qin Xian moves from Siyao Peak to Yuanxing Peak and marries Fei Qingyi as the Si faction consolidates influence. His usefulness includes harsh acts against the displaced ruling lineage: Li Yuanqin later recounts that he killed Chi Xuxiao with a halberd during the turmoil following the Reef Sea upheaval. After Ning Wan’s retreat and Yuanqin’s departure weaken Lin Wuning’s administration, Qin requests an Eastern Sea transfer, then brings the newly advanced Si Yuanli into the hall with conspicuous confidence. Yuanli selects him as sect master instead of committing Si Tongyi; Qin accepts the unexpected elevation and promises lifelong service, while the Si juniors begin withdrawing from sect posts. (Chapters 1198,1250–1251,1313,1488,1555–1557)

The appointment places Qin at the exposed edge of a larger retreat. Si Yuanli orders him to hold Simin while Azure Pond disperses its peak disciples and prepares to seal its mountain. Qin senses the approaching disaster but rides out against Yang Zhuo when the royal forces arrive, with only his faction still resisting outside the prefecture. His years of maneuvering and accumulated resources cannot bridge the difference in power: six Water-Fire forms annihilate his body and soul in a single exchange. His son Qin Lianfu prepares to flee with the survivors, then surrenders after a Si descendant intervenes. Qin’s rise to sect leadership ends as the dynasty absorbs the territory his faction was left to defend. (Chapters 1600,1627–1628)

Appearance and personality

Qin adapts his demeanor to the relative power of those around him. He treats Lin Wuning with open disdain, serves Si Yuanli eagerly and even forces tears during the remembrance of Yuanxiu. His confidence becomes astonishment when the sect-master appointment exceeds his expectations. (Chapters 1555–1557)

Abilities and cultivation

Qin has accumulated valuable cultivation resources despite an unexceptional Dao lineage. He wields a long halberd in the killing of Chi Xuxiao, but no named personal technique is known. His death against Yang Zhuo establishes the limits of his combat strength; sect office and factional favor do not confer the ability to withstand True Essence Water-Fire. (Chapters 1488,1627)
