Choosing a student others had abandoned

Miss Aimee first appears as Echelon Academy's most formidable teacher: publicly Kilo-ranked, unusually young for that level, and already famous for a B-grade bloodline. During a bloodline-channeling assessment, she refuses to accept the class's assumption that Gustav Oslov is incapable of progress. She examines him herself, recognizes that he has reached a channeling point, and gives him the same practical test as the other students. Her interest is not sentimental charity. She has observed that he secretly retaliated against his tormentors and sees his willingness to fight back as the first sign that he can be shaped. She also realizes that his bloodline can improve in grade and warns him that public discovery would turn him into a research subject. (Chapters 6–8, 29)

She offers to train Gustav because she despises surrender of the will more than physical weakness. Her private instruction is deliberately severe: she pays for a Gami Dojo room, overwhelms him without reducing her strength, and teaches him to read openings, conceal intention, and expect opponents to exploit every unfair advantage. Her lessons extend beyond fighting. She pushes him to earn money, prepare his own equipment, and use imperfect social ties intelligently instead of treating every relationship as either absolute loyalty or worthless pretense. The distinction she draws between self-reliance and abandonment becomes clearest when adults target him. After Angy reports Gustav's abduction, Miss Aimee tracks him to the conspirators' facility, breaks through its defenses, and incapacitates the adults responsible. She tells Gustav that she will not fight his peers for him, but she will intervene when an adult threat lies beyond his present ability. Even so, she later refuses to solve every injustice he finds, forcing him to remain the agent of his own choices. By the end of Gustav's academy period, their initially transactional arrangement has become personal. She worries that Gustav's attachment to Angy may impede him, but she listens when he defends the friendship and lets him choose. The Demon Queen behind the limiter

When Gustav reaches the MBO, Miss Aimee's history explains the contradictions surrounding her apparent rank. Her Creation bloodline awakened in infancy when she turned her cradle into a tree. Born into a prestigious military family, she was forced into brutal training from age three by a father concerned with family reputation. Her mother, a low-grade Mixedblood who was mistreated and allowed to die after prolonged neglect, was her only nurturing parent. That loss hardened Miss Aimee's hatred of a society that assigns worth through bloodline power, even as her own family drove her to master that power. (Chapter 282)

She entered MBO training at eleven, cleared cadet missions ahead of schedule, and became an emergency-squad captain at sixteen. Her willingness to sacrifice subordinates to complete missions, combined with a record of savagely defeating stronger officers, earned her the title “Demon Queen.” Six years of undefeated operations made her valuable but also frightening to the institution. When the MBO sends Jack to restrain her, Miss Aimee reveals both her true Alpha rank and a second B-grade bloodline, a purple destructive power that opposes Creation. She then shows how Creation and her light-fed destructive bloodline can be used together, while urging Gustav to study each of his many abilities for situational value rather than rely on quantity alone. Protecting Gustav in the field

Miss Aimee's mentoring changes once Gustav begins leading real missions. During the operation against Sahil, she frees him from an insubordination restraint and recognizes that he completed a five-star objective in less than nine days. She listens when he argues that the mission's evidence exposes a wider civil conflict rather than a single criminal problem, then uses his documents and her authority to press the MBO toward a broader response. In later sparring, she learns that he possesses dozens of bloodlines and trains them separately, and she makes him explain their practical uses and exposure risks. Her restraint frays when institutional action endangers him. While investigating the border conspiracy with Red Shadow, she orders the MBO not to harm Gustav after he becomes a suspect in the Burning Sands disaster and declares that she would not surrender him even if the allegation were true. At the T67 installation, she uses the T67 Device to deactivate one machine, tries to contain the sentient ashen fog released by the other, and opens enormous spatial rifts to pull it away while arranging a mass evacuation. After Burning Sands, Miss Aimee takes command of the search organized by Gustav's friends. She initially excludes people she does not personally trust, but Angy persuades her that Gustav's own judgment should determine who belongs. Accepting that argument marks a small but meaningful change in a woman accustomed to relying only on herself. She continues hunting the corrupt agents around the case, but also makes room for Gustav's peers to share the responsibility of protecting him. Infection, breakthrough, and a world of her own

The conspiracy against Miss Aimee eventually succeeds by targeting a vulnerability rather than confronting her power. Scientist Merkil infects her through a handled drinking vessel with a strain tailored to bypass her protective veil. As her condition worsens, Earth becomes intolerable and she disappears off-world, leaving Gustav a private recording that entrusts him with killing Yung Jo and stopping the larger plot. The message exposes both her isolation and her faith in him: when she cannot act openly, he is the only person she trusts to finish the work. Her flight transforms the crisis into a breakthrough. Miss Aimee destroys the MBO seal, reaches Beacon rank while escaping Earth, and accelerates so violently that she opens a wormhole into a dark region between time and space. There she discovers that she no longer needs air, that her energy core has expanded enormously, and that Creation answers with far greater speed and scale. That refuge is an inhabited-scale act of creation. After testing countless inanimate objects, Miss Aimee creates a planet, its ecosystem, living beings, and a sun. The creation is not effortless—life and planetary-scale constructs consume noticeable energy, and her first dove dies until she provides a viable atmosphere—but her reserves have become so vast that ordinary construction barely depletes them. Guardian of Agon and the IYSOP expedition

Miss Aimee positions her planet, later called Agon, beyond the Milky Way and continues shaping it through independent creations. When a gigantic dark eye manifests beside the world, it frightens even her and threatens everything she has built. She investigates instead of waiting for the danger to approach Earth, confronts Shion with her findings, and insists that the entity must be destroyed before it can strike what she values. At the intergalactic IYSOP, her priorities remain protective rather than institutional. Even after expending most of her energy, she exits the evacuation craft and collapses the infected spatial tunnel before the darkness can follow. Preparing the road to Dimension Six

After IYSOP, a Time Candidate gives Miss Aimee instructions about dangers Gustav will face. She responds by preparing a route rather than telling him answers he is not yet ready to use. Appearance and personality

Miss Aimee is a striking woman with long grey or ash-colored hair, usually worn loose, and is described as approximately five feet eight inches tall. Her clothes shift with her role: she first appears in a fitted green dress and brown leather jacket, later favors practical or white garments during her cosmic travels, and wears dark-crimson robes with her hair in a neat bun in the epilogue. She is blunt, self-possessed, and openly contemptuous of authority that has not earned her respect. Early trauma and MBO conditioning made her ruthless enough to sacrifice subordinates and brutalize defeated enemies, and remnants of the Demon Queen remain whenever Gustav is threatened. Bloodlines and abilities

Miss Aimee possesses two B-grade bloodlines and was already an Alpha-ranked Mixedblood while publicly constrained to Kilo rank. The MBO seal limits access rather than changing her actual attainment; after she destroys it and reaches Beacon rank, infection-driven integration changes her physiology and expands Creation far beyond its earlier limits. Creation bloodline

Creation awakened when the infant Aimee turned her cradle into a tree. In its earlier form it materializes nonliving matter directly from thought rather than transforming existing material. She can also use light to accelerate until her movement resembles teleportation. Gustav Oslov

Gustav is Miss Aimee's student, chosen successor, and the person she most consistently protects. The MBO is both Miss Aimee's formative institution and her central institutional adversary.
