Milox

Milox is the captain of the Ozis recovery team dispatched after Planet Ozious's destruction. He begins as a status-conscious opponent of Gustav but revises his judgment after seeing Gustav rescue the surviving Ozis.

Biography

Captaincy and a failed arrest

Milox holds the captaincy once associated with Vilax and treats the former captain with visible hostility. Hoping to gain recognition, he pushes the team toward arresting Gustav Oslov despite Vilax's account of the earlier encounter. Gustav overwhelms and throws him aside, forcing Milox to confront the gap between official accusations, his personal ambition, and the power of the suspect he has chosen to provoke. (Chapters 1375–1379)

Sabotage aboard the vessel

After the team enters Seifiling's vessel, Milox is separated with the others inside artificially expanded spaces. He eventually works with Osiark to reach and corrupt the energy roots sustaining the distortion, helping shrink the false space and reunite the team. The operation turns him from an obstructive arresting officer into a functional participant in Gustav's rescue plan. (Chapters 1384–1392)

A changed verdict

The recovery team witnesses Gustav and Endric Oslov free the captive Ozis. By the end of the mission, Milox admits that he previously believed Gustav destroyed Planet Ozious but now accepts his innocence. This reversal does not erase his earlier vanity, but it establishes his latest status as a surviving captain willing to let direct evidence correct his institutional assumptions. (Chapters 1393–1399)

Appearance and personality

Milox is presented as an older Ozis and the senior captain of the five-member recovery group; the corpus does not isolate a more detailed individual description. He is initially petty toward Vilax, proud of rank, and eager for credit. Under mission pressure he remains capable of cooperation, and his eventual admission of error shows more flexibility than his first encounter suggests. (Chapters 1375–1379 and 1396–1399)

Bloodlines and abilities

Milox uses the Ozis species' energy manipulation to interfere with and corrupt active power flows. With Osiark, he applies that trait to the roots of Seifiling's space-expansion machinery, helping reverse an environmental trap. The ability is strongest against accessible energy systems and does not give Milox the direct speed or force needed to restrain Gustav. (Chapters 1376 and 1385–1386)
