Sid

Sid is a Dwarf assassin who enters Twilight Rain to secure a better life for his younger sisters, Laura and Livia. Sent to compete with Scarlet for the right to kill Lux, he is defeated, killed, and remade as a Dhampir through Blackfire. Lux’s protection of his sisters transforms Sid’s enforced service into genuine gratitude and lifelong loyalty.

Biography

Awakening and Leaf Village

Twilight Rain names Sid and Scarlet its most promising young Reapers and makes Lux’s assassination a contest for the Slayer Candidate title. Sid accepts because success promises the money and position needed to take Laura and Livia somewhere safe. He patiently maps escape routes, uses presence-hiding equipment, and exploits Scarlet’s failed strike to drive a short sword through what he believes is Lux’s heart. The target is a doppelganger, and the trap ends with both assassins dead. Lux revives Sid with a Deimos Beast Core as a middle-stage Initiate Dhampir, binding him as a subordinate but also giving him the second chance he wanted for his family. (Chapters 192, 195–200)

Sid’s loyalty becomes personal when Lux lets him remove his sisters from Twilight Rain’s orphanage and place them under Grandma Annie’s protection in Leaf Village. His new cold skin and red eyes frighten neither girl, and their reunion resolves his greatest regret about dying before keeping his promise. He thereafter serves as Lux’s bodyguard, protects Aina during Whitebridge’s crisis, and trains with Cadmus in the Savage Lands, risking himself for Beast Cores so he can defend both his master and sisters. By later wars, he and Scarlet fight as experienced C-Rank assassins rather than disposable trainees. (Chapters 199–216, 300–304, 350–361, 531, 980)

Open Heaven’s Gate

Sid and Scarlet enter the final battle as High-Rankers who attack only Empyrean enemies within their ability, rescuing each other whenever a strike fails. When an Outer God’s beam targets Edea, Sid instinctively takes Scarlet’s hand and places himself between her and the attack, though both are instantly vaporized. Lux later revives them, allowing a bond built through years of rivalry and partnership to become explicit. They ask for his blessing, marry in the postwar joint ceremony, and begin a life in which Sid’s sisters celebrate his happiness instead of waiting for him to return from another assassination. Appearance and personality

Sid is a handsome Dwarf whose composed bearing often makes him appear more formal than Scarlet. After his first revival, his skin is cold, his eyes turn red, and his strength must be carefully controlled around his sisters. His Dhampir form later allows full-powered aerial movement in battle, while his ordinary appearance remains close enough to his former self for Laura and Livia to recognize him immediately. Reserved, patient, and protective, Sid plans assassinations over days rather than gambling on the first opening. His initial killing profession is driven by responsibility for his sisters, and he apologizes even while delivering a fatal strike. Once Lux gives him a safe home and renewed life, that same devotion transfers into sincere service. He remains realistic about rank limits and, in the final war, expresses love through an instinctive protective act rather than a speech. (Chapters 196–199, 304, 531, 1208–1209)

Assassin and Dhampir abilities

Stealth, tracking avoidance, and vital strikes

Sid uses Twilight Rain artifacts and trained stealth to hide from presence-detection systems, stalk a protected target, and prepare escape routes before attacking. His preferred method is a sudden short-sword thrust to a vital organ followed by twisting the blade to prevent survival. This style depends on surprise and correct identification: Lux’s doppelganger defeats it completely, and stronger or prepared opponents can trap him. Later he uses battlefield chaos and blind spots to kill officers rather than challenge armies head-on. (Chapters 195–198, 301, 980, 1208)

Dhampir physiology and growth

Blackfire remakes Sid as a Dhampir with enhanced strength, red-eyed night vision, a cold body, and the capacity to evolve. The initial transformation raises him from early to middle Initiate Rank, after which he gains power through dangerous training rather than relying on Twilight Rain’s resources. He reaches C-Rank by the Divine Empire battle and High-Ranker by the final war. His full form improves aerial mobility and striking power, but it does not erase rank boundaries: he and Scarlet deliberately avoid Calamity opponents and can still be killed instantly by an Outer God’s attack. • Laura and Livia: Sid’s twin sisters are the reason he seeks status, trains, and values his second life. Their safety in Leaf Village anchors his loyalty to Lux. (Chapters 196, 199, 531, 953, 1229)
