Isrock, the New World, and the Lunar Scourge

Ling Chen tells Gui Ya that he will enter Mystic Moon, showing that the Reaper leader is trusted with his plans before the virtual world opens. Gui Ya subsequently becomes known there as Shinigami, a player whose reputation places him among China’s most feared elites. The early chapters establish access, loyalty, and notoriety without yet detailing how the Dark Night operates. (Chapters 6, 112)

Heart’s Dream and the First Guild

Public discussion ranks Shinigami beside the Sword Emperor as a benchmark for Ling Tian’s emerging strength. Gui Ya leads the Dark Night, a feared assassin organization that avoids direct guild warfare and instead kills from concealment, making retaliation difficult. Gui Ya warns Ling Chen about a serious real-world threat because he understands his master well enough to fear an impulsive response. While Ling Chen is abroad, Gui Ya’s network tracks the captive Buggy and the Long family’s continuing search. In Mystic Moon, Gui Ya remains a prominent assassin of the Dark Night, but this phase emphasizes his information and coordination duties more than a new combat achievement. The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City

Gui Ya joins the Reapers caring for Tian Tian and reacts when the Mad Scientist’s diagnostic equipment fails while examining her. His initial disbelief reflects both trust in the scientist’s technology and the impossibility of the result under known human limits. The sequence gives him no solution to Tian Tian’s origin; it shows an experienced commander confronting evidence that lies outside his intelligence network and training. (Chapters 510–513)

The Underworld and the Forgotten City

Gui Ya personally protects Yun Meng Xin as her public prominence makes her a target, then receives orders to guard her return to the Yun family’s banquet without unnecessarily exposing the Reapers. Gui Ya reports Meng Xin’s movement and remains close when she suddenly shows signs of Isrock Disease, urging Ling Chen to stay calm while the Reapers verify her condition. During Qi Xing’s deception, Ling Chen believes Gui Ya and the other Reapers died with nearly everyone on Earth. Gui Ya does not fight the Quasi-God directly or perform an unseen escape; his apparent death is part of the loss used to drive Ling Chen toward despair. The restored timeline later prevents that destruction, so the catastrophe does not remain his final condition. (Chapter 823)

Xiya and the Perfect Moon

In the restored future, Gui Ya continues participating in Mystic Moon and travels with Fey, Dia Wu, Xiao Qi, and Yola to the later International Mock Battle. His presence confirms that he is alive and still active as a high-level player. The corpus does not state that he surpasses the stronger combatants or leaves the Dark Night, so his latest role remains elite assassin and network leader. (Chapter 842)

Appearance and personality

Gui Ya is presented primarily through a grave voice, disciplined bearing, and the intimidating Shinigami identity rather than a detailed physical portrait. He is serious, cautious, loyal, and capable of taking command while others panic. Around Ling Chen’s household he can also become practical and unexpectedly ordinary, handling errands and care without treating them as beneath a feared assassin leader. (Chapters 300–314, 510–512)

Assassination and Dark Night command

Gui Ya is a top assassin whose strength lies in stealth, surprise, precise killing, and leadership of other covert operatives. Dark Night avoids open battle and makes enemies fear retaliation from concealment. His Shinigami reputation is substantial, but later comparison says Yola can defeat him, and nothing supports treating him as equal to divine or godchild opponents. (Chapters 112–124, 436, 699)

Intelligence and field leadership

He gathers reports, monitors prisoners and political searches, organizes protective details, verifies conditions, and redirects shocked Reapers during emergencies. This operational judgment is often more important than direct combat. His intelligence remains limited by available observation: Isrock recurrence, Tian Tian’s abnormal reading, and Quasi-God actions all exceed what his network can independently explain or prevent. Relationships

Ling Chen is Gui Ya’s master and the center of his loyalty. Gui Ya warns him, gathers intelligence for him, and commands the Reapers when Ling Chen must be rescued or his companions protected. (Chapters 6, 300–314, 432–705)
Yun Meng Xin is a principal Gui Ya personally guards during her dangerous return to public life. His protection supports her choices without taking control of them. (Chapters 699–705)
