Telle
Telle, known as the Feather Knight, is the Awakened daughter of Tyris and Roan. Raised within White Feather, she combines formal Legacy discipline and administrative responsibility with a less guarded, inexperienced private side that emerges around Rain and Tamar. (Chapters 1605–1606 and 2290–2295)
Biography
A daughter acting for White Feather
Telle first visited Sunny's Brilliant Emporium to find armor for her father. She evaluated the offered Transcendent Memory, Belated Apology, as exactly what Roan needed and bought it for him; when it later appeared on his arm, the custody had clearly passed to its intended recipient. Her errand also exposed family tensions: Roan had challenged the Third Nightmare against Tyris's wishes and remained in his wife's “doghouse” afterward. (Chapters 1605–1606 and 1852)
Although initially presented through family business, Telle also carried clan responsibilities of her own. After the Domain War she represented White Feather in Bastion and attended an appointment concerning a proposed trade caravan to the Chained Isles. Her later explanation that no suitable White Feather warrior could accompany her into a Nightmare places her unusual decision in the context of both clan duty and isolation rather than simple recklessness. (Chapters 2290–2295)
War, defeat, and reconciliation
During the Domain War, Telle confronted Rain as an enemy combatant. The sword fight was brutal enough to leave Telle with a gaping wound in her thigh and extensive bruising, but Rain overpowered her and deliberately refused to kill her. Nephis healed Telle, and Telle answered Rain's mercy with a somber acknowledgment before withdrawing rather than renewing the fight. (Chapters 2003–2004 and 2031)
The fall of the old Domains changed that relationship. Telle later fought beside Rain and Tamar against the Nightmare Creatures overrunning the battlefield, recognized the shadow of the Winter Beast with open loathing, and survived the collapse of the conflict. In Bastion the three became close friends, allowing her stern public manner to relax into teasing, embarrassment, and frank discussion of their futures. (Chapters 2249–2255 and 2290–2294)
The unannounced Second Nightmare
Telle wanted to become a Master and trusted Rain and Tamar enough to test their interest before openly asking them to form a cohort. Tamar considered her a warrior of rare caliber. By the time the attempt began in Godgrave, the party also included Ray, Fleur, and June; Telle brought the soul arsenal and martial education of White Feather, while her companions deliberately kept the existence of the Shadow Clan from her. (Chapters 2290–2294 and 2749)
Telle summoned a luminous Memory before entering the Seed and exchanged competitive promises with Rain about their next spar. She then crossed into the Second Nightmare. A later remark that Tyris was angry because her daughter had “snuck out” confirms that the challenge lacked maternal approval, but the supplied corpus does not show Telle emerging, advancing, or dying. Her latest defensible state is therefore inside an unresolved Nightmare. (Chapters 2749 and 2773)
Appearance and personality
Telle is a young, elegant beauty with fair skin, glistening golden-blonde hair, and amber eyes. She first wore light armor and a white cape; during a later social outing she wore a white dress. Her composed expression and cold gaze could make her seem uninviting, reinforcing the disciplined image expected of a Legacy knight. (Chapters 1605 and 2290)
Around friends, that facade proves incomplete. Telle is stern and proud but also clumsy in casual situations, inexperienced with alcohol and ordinary social life, and capable of envy over Rain and Tamar's matching tattoos. Her decision to challenge a Nightmare without Tyris's consent shows independence and ambition, while the secrecy surrounding it also reveals a willingness to evade family authority. (Chapters 2290–2294, 2749, and 2773)
Abilities and Aspect
Legacy swordsmanship
Telle is an accomplished swordswoman trained by White Feather. She endured a prolonged duel with Rain during the war, later fought beside her against Nightmare Creatures, and was considered by Tamar to be a particularly valuable prospective cohort member. The corpus does not name her battle style, quantify her strength, or establish that her sword techniques are supernatural. (Chapters 2003–2004, 2249, and 2293–2294)
Unrevealed Aspect and inherited arsenal
Telle is Awakened, but her Aspect name, rank, abilities, Attributes, and Flaw are not disclosed. She possesses access to White Feather's inherited soul arsenal and summoned a luminous Memory when preparing for the Second Nightmare. Neither the Memory's function nor its ownership history is explained, so its light must not be treated as evidence for a light- or wind-based Aspect. (Chapters 1605–1606 and 2749)
Her demonstrated limitations are martial rather than formal Ability counters. Rain could overpower and seriously wound her, and Telle required Nephis's healing after their duel. A Transcendent griffin Echo belonging to Tyris was assigned as Telle's protector, providing powerful support without proving that Telle herself controlled or owned it. (Chapters 1881 and 2003–2004)
Relationships
- Tyris and Roan: Telle is their daughter. She buys equipment for Roan and remains protected by Tyris's griffin, but later challenges the Second Nightmare without Tyris's approval. (Chapters 1605–1606, 1852, 1881, and 2773)
- Rain: They begin as battlefield enemies, where Rain spares Telle, and later become friends and sparring rivals. Rain's secrecy about the Shadow Clan remains unresolved when Telle enters the Nightmare. (Chapters 2003–2004, 2249, 2290–2294, and 2749)
- Tamar: Tamar becomes Telle's trusted friend and values her combat ability enough to join the planned Nightmare cohort. (Chapters 2290–2294 and 2749)
Items
Telle bought Belated Apology for Roan, who subsequently wore it; it should not be treated as part of her continuing inventory. Tyris's Transcendent griffin Echo serves as her protector, but the corpus does not clearly transfer ownership to Telle. She also summons an unnamed luminous Memory before entering the Second Nightmare. No generated notable item is assigned to her. (Chapters 1606, 1852, 1881, and 2749)
