Tiffany

Tiffany is Westbridge High's class diva and Riv's girlfriend. Her refusal to let go of an accidental humiliation drives her from social bullying into cooperation with a colour gang, until the resulting attack and abduction nearly kill her and force her to confront the harm she caused.

Biography

Retaliation that escapes her control

Tiffany is accustomed to leading a circle of classmates and reacts furiously when Xin Clove instinctively throws her into Gary's vomit. Although Xin immediately apologizes and repeatedly tries to speak with her, Tiffany isolates the transfer student, arranges public humiliations, and treats resistance as a threat to her status. Losing the class-representative election deepens that resentment. She eventually uses her relationship with Riv to steal Xin's belongings and send red colour gang members after her, demanding faster and harsher retaliation whenever their efforts fail. Riv turns Tiffany's grievance into an assault on Westbridge and the abduction of the mayor's daughter. Tiffany participates willingly at first, taunting the bound Xin and imagining that a ransom will finance a new life with Riv, but she has not understood how far the plan places them outside the Grey Elephants' authority. When Gary Dem and Jayden Tiger arrive, Riv tries to flee without her. Brandon kills him, then nearly kills Tiffany to erase a witness; Xin and Jayden intervene, saving the classmate who had arranged her captivity. (Chapters 198–214)

Shocked by how close she came to death, Tiffany apologizes to Xin during the drive to hospital. Xin refuses to treat a late apology as erasing weeks of abuse, a school attack, and the loss of her one chance at an ordinary life. Tiffany initially struggles to understand because everyone survived, then recognizes that her anger, social environment, and desire to demonstrate power were inadequate excuses. She is proud, vindictive, and accustomed to friends and adults yielding to her. Tiffany mistakes influence for control: she can direct classmates and pressure Riv, but cannot restrain the criminal consequences once he mobilizes a gang. Her final scenes show remorse beginning only after terror strips away that confidence; whether the insight produces lasting change is not shown.

Social influence and manipulation

Tiffany leads a clique, coordinates harassment, and can provoke Riv into using red colour gang personnel on her behalf. They fail against Xin's fighting ability, Gary's intervention, and the higher authority of the Grey Elephants, leaving Tiffany unable to protect herself when Riv's plan collapses. Relationships

Xin Clove

Tiffany treats Xin as a rival and escalates an accident into sustained abuse and abduction. Xin nevertheless saves her from Brandon, then forces her to acknowledge that survival does not undo the damage.

Riv

Riv is Tiffany's boyfriend and the instrument through which she turns school retaliation into gang violence. His indulgence makes her feel powerful, but he abandons her during the rescue and dies because their private scheme betrays his superiors.

Jayden Tiger

Jayden rescues his sister and compels Brandon to release Tiffany. His intervention gives her the chance to survive, receive treatment, and reconsider her actions.
