Wei Jiuqing

Wei Jiuqing is the former Mu Yang High School headmaster and grandfather of Yin Bai and Yin Hong. Within the School of the Afterlife, he protects abandoned children and becomes a moral alternative to factions seeking power for themselves.

Biography

A new steward for the ghost school

Wei Jiuqing meets Chen Ge while trapped in the school with his granddaughters and former students, carrying guilt for children he could not save during life. Rather than seek escape or control for its own sake, he guides Chen through the campus, shields vulnerable students, and opposes the Painter's attempt to determine the school's future alone. After the battle, Wei accepts responsibility for administering the school as a refuge, supported by Zhang Ju, Zhu Long, Han Song, and Yin Hong. He later returns there with the surviving students, continuing as its public headmaster and moral center. (Chapters 841–907, 1209)

Wei Jiuqing is an elderly, modest man whose authority rests on patience rather than intimidation. He carries deep guilt, consistently places children before himself, and refuses to treat suffering students as resources in a contest for power.
