Yin Bai

Yin Bai is the gentle, conscious self of Lee Xueyin, kept separate from the hatred and painful memories borne by Yin Hong. Though the two share one history, the School of the Afterlife presents them as autonomous girls with different memories, choices, and supernatural states. (Chapters 840–907)

Biography

The child in the infirmary

Chen Ge finds Yin Bai severely weakened in the school infirmary, where she quietly warns him that resisting assimilation can turn a victim into a monster. She recounts losing her mother and being raised by her grandfather, Wei Jiuqing, but cannot place Yin Hong within those memories. Chen protects her from the doctor, reunites her with Mu Yang High School's spirits, and brings her along to find her grandfather. (Chapters 840–851)

Facing the half she forgot

The reunion reveals that Yin Bai and Yin Hong are both Lee Xueyin: Yin Bai preserves the child's kindness and innocence because Yin Hong absorbed the anxiety, fear, hatred, and memories she could not endure. Yin Bai initially fears and resents this near-identical other self, yet during the battle the girls hold hands and remain together. The black phone later records Yin Bai as a Lingering Spirit and unlocks both girls' employee pages. (Chapters 853–907)

Appearance and personality

Yin Bai is a palm-faced girl so thin that her bones visibly protrude, with clear eyes and a soft voice. She is timid around touch and frightening memories, but her first instinct is still to warn a supposed new student away from danger. Her gentleness and openness contrast with Yin Hong's suspicion without making her merely passive. (Chapters 840–848)

Skills and supernatural abilities

The black phone identifies Yin Bai as a Lingering Spirit. She is among the students whose despair could qualify them to push the school's door, but she never claims that role and shows no combat technique or named supernatural power. Her survival depends principally on allies during the school's violent upheaval. (Chapters 845–850, 906–907)

Relationships

Wei Jiuqing is Yin Bai's adoptive grandfather and only acknowledged family when her memories are incomplete; his devotion anchors her through the school. Yin Hong is not a conventional sister but the autonomous self who bears Lee Xueyin's pain and protects Yin Bai. Chen Ge gains her trust by invoking Wei Jiuqing, sheltering her, and forcing the family's hidden history into the open. (Chapters 841–858)

A bedside family photograph shows Yin Bai and Yin Hong beside their ailing mother while Wei Jiuqing pushes the wheelchair, providing the first visible contradiction in Yin Bai's incomplete memories.
