Master Waller

Master Waller is the werewolf ruler of Shadowmoon Castle and the final boss of its Castle Interior dungeon. His encounter turns the Wolf God's power into a coordination test: six players must repeatedly intercept shifting colored beams while two others survive his attacks, making him a more difficult obstacle than his Gray-Silver rank suggests. (Chapters 101, 164–175)

Biography

Lone Desert Smoke and Soaring Swords

Master Waller's control of Shadowmoon Castle is established through the people surrounding him before he personally enters combat. Jenny, the first garden opponent and later a Gray-Silver boss, is his wife; Winny is identified as his maid and lover, and his delayed roar can multiply her attack by five. He also defeats the vampire Angelo and keeps him enslaved as the castle's guard, leaving Angelo with a furious hatred of both captivity and intruders. These relationships frame Waller as the castle's dominant master rather than only its last combat encounter. (Chapters 101–102, 108, 164, and 166)

Waller is found motionless at the center of a hexagonal seal while six beams channel the Wolf God's strength into him. The dungeon's account identifies him as a werewolf who regained the god's recognition and is still absorbing its power. Once Lone Desert Smoke blocks the beams, he awakens and attacks, but every twenty-second rearrangement forces the six beam handlers to relocate by color within seconds. The party is repeatedly annihilated by restored strength or the Wolf God's intervention, so Zhang Yang stops the direct attempts and makes the group rehearse the formation for hours. Even after mastering the basic movement, fatigue and small positioning mistakes cause many more failures. (Chapters 171–174)

On the final attempt before the dungeon resets, Fatty Han moves toward the wrong beam near the end of the fight and Zhang Yang leaves melee range to block it himself. That correction gives the party enough time to kill Waller, secure the Castle Interior first clear, and obtain the first Level 2 Guild Upgrade Order, which immediately advances Lone Desert Smoke. Waller then remains strategically valuable as a repeatable boss: the group kills him again after the dungeon refreshes and later farms him for additional upgrade orders. Their days of rehearsal against his formation become Zhang Yang's model for learning other difficult competitive encounters. (Chapters 174–175, 196, and 262)

Appearance and personality

Master Waller appears as a huge werewolf standing inside a fifty-meter-wide circular chamber. When disturbed, he opens glowing yellow-green eyes and attacks with two large, rough wolf paws. The supplied corpus does not describe his clothing, human form, hair beyond his werewolf body, or any separate weapons. (Chapters 171–172)

His limited dialogue presents him as domineering and convinced of divine entitlement. Waller calls the absorption a sacred ceremony, treats its interruption as an offense deserving death, and claims to be the Wolf God's son and leader of all wolves when defeated. Because he is a repeatable dungeon boss with only encounter dialogue, the corpus does not establish a broader private personality or any development after death. (Chapters 172 and 174)

Abilities and gameplay

Master Waller is a Level 48 Gray-Silver humanoid boss with two million health. His name is initially yellow, so he remains neutral until players attack or block the incoming divine beams. Although his displayed tier is below Yellow-Gold, the encounter's instant-failure rules and sustained coordination requirement make him the party's most difficult boss to that point. (Chapters 171–174)

Wolf God absorption and Shift of Light Rotation

Six colored beams from a hexagonal magic seal continuously feed Waller the Wolf God's strength. Blocking all six reduces his damage to ten percent of its normal value; at full strength, even sub-Level-100 players are expected to die immediately. Every twenty seconds the beams disconnect, then reappear two seconds later in randomized positions. The first beam a player blocks applies a matching thirty-minute “source” debuff, and that same player must continue intercepting the corresponding color after every shift. (Chapters 171–173)

The formation punishes both incorrect and slow movement. Crossing a mismatched beam summons the Celestial-tier Wolf God, whose demonstrated strike deals one million damage to every party member. Letting any beam reach Waller for two seconds restores his full strength, after which his melee attack and a two-second area spell wipe the group. A beam handler who spends five seconds outside the required light also dies, so spare players cannot simply replace an assigned blocker. The safe route is around the outside edge of the seal because even crouching under a beam counts as blocking it. (Chapters 171–174)

Waller stays fixed while absorbing power. This prevents ordinary kiting but also structures the roles: six players handle light positions, while the tank and an adjacent partner remain in melee. If no target stays within melee range, Waller casts an area attack that ends the attempt. The encounter therefore cannot be solved by withdrawing from his claws; it requires continuous close-range pressure and exact beam management together. (Chapters 171–172)

Dual-claw attacks and Shadow Slash

Waller attacks like a dual-wielding Thief, striking with both paws once per roughly 2.5-second cycle for eight attacks over ten seconds. Under the beam suppression, an unblocked basic hit deals about 2,500 damage before the tank's mitigation, and approximately two of the eight attacks can be blocked. The resulting steady damage is manageable for Han Ying Xue, but it becomes lethal whenever the beams restore his full power. (Chapter 172)

Shadow Slash activates every thirty seconds against the highest-aggro target and the character nearest that target. It deals twelve thousand physical damage in total and cannot be dodged or evaded; in the demonstrated fight, Zhang Yang and Endless Starlight each take roughly 4,500 damage after mitigation. The second recipient must stand close while every beam runner keeps farther away, or the attack can kill a less durable character. (Chapter 172)

Relationships

  • Jenny: Waller's wife and a noblewoman encountered elsewhere in Shadowmoon Castle. Her later Gray-Silver boss form confirms her place in his household. (Chapter 164)
  • Winny: Waller's maid and lover. Master Waller's Roar raises her attack by five hundred percent after a ten-second delay, directly extending his power into her earlier encounter. (Chapters 101–102 and 108)
  • Angelo: A vampire defeated and enslaved by Waller to guard the castle. Angelo's hatred is explicitly tied to that enslavement. (Chapter 166)
  • Zhang Yang: The raid leader who understands Waller's ritual, drills the party through repeated failures, blocks the final missing beam, and later farms the boss for guild upgrades. (Chapters 171–175 and 196)
  • Endless Starlight: The second durable melee target required to share Shadow Slash. His position beside Zhang Yang protects the six beam handlers from the unavoidable strike. (Chapter 172)

Items

  • Level 2 Guild Upgrade Order: Waller is the only boss identified as dropping this consumable. It is an additional luck-influenced drop rather than a replacement for normal loot; the first one upgrades Lone Desert Smoke, and subsequent respawns are farmed for more. (Chapters 171, 174–175, and 196)
  • Standard boss loot: Each kill provides three Gray-Silver equipment pieces and seven Green-Copper pieces, with the specific equipment selected randomly. The first-clear haul includes the Black Wolf's Armor. (Chapters 174–175)
