Angelo

Angelo is a humanoid boss associated with Shadowmoon Castle, first fought as the Gray-Silver Blood Guardian and later encountered as a Yellow-Gold guard captain. His shield-and-recovery mechanic punishes parties that cannot break his defenses promptly. (Chapters 169–171 and 287–289)

Biography

Thunderstorm Castle and the Chaos Realm

Zhang Yang's party fights Angelo as the Blood Guardian, repeatedly breaking his Devil Shield before its healing can erase their progress, and defeats him for loot. He later appears as the castle's Yellow-Gold Guard Captain when Snow White asks him to help Oz; despite the higher tier, the cleared surroundings leave him an uncomplicated gatekeeper encounter. The party defeats him again, then remembers to sort his Yellow-Gold and Gray-Silver drops after the subsequent battle. (Chapters 169–171 and 287–289)

Appearance and personality

Angelo is a humanoid who covers his face during the first encounter. When the covering is removed after his defeat, Wei Yan Er calls his face ugly. His limited actions show loyalty to his guard role, but the corpus provides too little dialogue to establish a broader personality. (Chapters 169–171 and 287)

Abilities and gameplay

The Blood Guardian version uses Devil Shield and health recovery. If the party breaks the shield immediately, it can remove roughly fifteen percent of his health per minute; failure lets his regeneration offset much of that damage. His later Yellow-Gold version is described as a gatekeeper rather than an unusually powerful boss once the surrounding monsters are cleared. (Chapters 170 and 287)

Relationships

  • Zhang Yang: Leads the parties that defeat Angelo's two documented boss forms. (Chapters 169–171 and 287–289)
  • Wei Yan Er: Loots the first Angelo encounter and mocks his uncovered face afterward. (Chapter 171)
  • Master Waller: Angelo serves within Waller's Shadowmoon Castle and is identified elsewhere in the corpus as a defeated, enslaved guard who hates his captor. (Chapter 166)

Items

  • Devil Shield: Angelo's principal defensive mechanic, protecting the recovery cycle that can undo the party's damage if not broken quickly. (Chapter 170)
  • Battle drops: The later Guard Captain encounter yields two Yellow-Gold and five Gray-Silver pieces of equipment. The individual pieces are not identified in the supplied evidence. (Chapter 289)
